(Ok I'm going to try changing up the game dialogue a bit...)

The large insect zipped around quickly, trying to get our full attention. "I'm from ten years in the future, and in the future all is devastation... Only the chosen ones can stop this terrible event from happening, by stopping Giygas from sending darkness upon the earth. The fate of the future rests upon three boys and one girl. Now listen! There is a legend that originates from ancient times. When the chosen boy reaches the point, he will find the light. The passing of time will shatter the nightmare rock and will reveal the path of light."

I listened intently, not understanding what it meant but paying attention anyway.

"I am certain that you are the chosen one, Ness."

Pokey wiped his forehead, relieved. "Oh good!" he exclaimed. "I don't really think I'm cut out to be a hero, hehe."

Me? Save the world? What could I do? There was nothing heroic about me. Was it even sensible to trust him? Despite all of the doubt I had, I decided to trust him on this one. There was no way I was taking chances with the world possibly being at stake and all.

"What is your name?" I asked the insect.

"You may call me Buzz Buzz." he replied. I almost started cracking up at the silly name, but I maintained self control.

"Allow me to join you." he commanded, and I let him perch on my shoulder.

...

We were walking down the hill when suddenly a beam of light penetrated the darkness beyond us. From the particles of light a human-like figure formed. It pointed at Buzz Buzz and gave a mechanical laugh. "Long time no see, Buzz Buzz. Haha! Are you trying to prevent our plans from occurring? Giygas won't fail! Surrender now!"

I was finally able to see it clearly, and whatever it was, it wasn't human. It looked foreign, extraterrestrial even. "Ness," Buzz Buzz told me. "This is a Starman, rank Junior. One of Giygas' many evil henchman. You'll encounter a lot of these later on."

The Starman walked closer towards us. "Do you really think a boy like him can stop us? You really are desperate..." Suddenly the Starman's visor began to glow red as if about to fire something.

"PSI Shield Sigma!" Buzz Buzz exclaimed. An aura of blue light surrounded us, completely nullifying the Starman's attack. I still felt the heat of the beam burn my skin, but other than that we were completely invulnerable to attack. Picky decided to help us and punched the armored enemy with all the strength he could gather. It didn't even flinch.

"Ha! These humans are weak!"

I raised my bat in a threatening manner, and swung it with all of my might. That fazed it for a second, but it was able to quickly recover and get back up. Pokey didn't bother to help us at all and he was instead trying to protect himself. With the shield Buzz Buzz cast, the Starman wasn't landing a single hit on us. And yet, he continuously fired energy beams towards us.

"PSI Shield Sigma!" the insect cried out once again, making the blue shield glow even brighter. Buzz Buzz decided to charge forward and hit the alien, finally rendering him useless.

"Urgh... You may have defeated me, Buzz Buzz," it admitted, voice full of static. "But you won't stop our plan from unfolding!" Those were the last words he said before combusting into a pile of ash.

"That was crazy!" I exclaimed at the insect. He shook his head and sighed. "It was something I had to do. Now let us go and return these boys home, we have much to discuss, Ness."

...

We finally got to Pokey's house. The two brothers looked at each other. "We are so done for..." Picky sighed. Pokey nodded his head. Once inside the Minch house, their parents turned their gaze this way, the smiles on their faces slowing fading. Mr. Minch was tomato red. "Boys! Get your butts over here!" he hollered. "Good luck with him..." I mouthed towards Picky. "PSI Discipline..." Buzz Buzz whispered. Mrs. Minch offered me a seat on the couch, so I sat down. "Don't worry about them." she said. "They'll be alright. Thank you for returning our boys home!"

About a second later I heard screaming. I didn't even want to see what was going on up there.

Mr. Minch stormed downstairs, waiting til he arrived in the living room to put on a smile. "They're alright now." he reassured. I didn't believe him. "Thank you for leading them back to us, Ness. Although, I suggest you leave soon. It is still such a nuisance living next to your family."

Excuse me?

"You may not know this, but a long time ago we lent your father a loan, and we have yet to receive the money back. We would be watching TV right now, but we don't have enough cash."

How dare they talk like that? Their house was really nice! Who were they to complain? And the fact that they were blaming Dad for their problems made me even more furious.

Still, people told me that I was great at hiding my emotions, and they didn't realize how angry I was.

"Come on, Buzz Buzz," I whispered to the insect, wanting to get out of the house. "let's get out of here." Buzz Buzz flapped his little wings to take flight, but unfortunately he wasn't very quiet when he did so, and Mrs. Minch saw him.

"Ahh! A dung beetle!" she shrieked. "I'll smash its guts!" She grabbed a nearby newspaper and whacked Buzz Buzz so hard that it sent him hurdling towards the ground.

"Buzz Buzz!" I exclaimed.

"Ugh... Perhaps I was weaker than I thought. You'll have to go on without me..."

"Buzz Buzz, hang in there!" I pleaded. It was hopeless.

"Before I perish, listen to my final words. If you start now, you may have time to counter the evil intentions of Giygas. Take this Sound Stone. It is capable of collecting the melodies of the earth, and it is one of the items you'll need to defeat Giygas. You can gather these melodies at your sanctuaries. The first sanctuary is Giant Step, located outside of Onett. It is an awesome item... Do not let Giygas win..."

I grabbed the stone and placed it in my backpack. "I won't let you down, Buzz Buzz."

Suddenly, he cried in agony. "Ah, the pain! Everything is getting dark... It's almost dawn outside... But it doesn't matter, I'm fading fast..." And that was it. He disappeared into thin air, leaving me with a rock and a quest to save the world.

I walked outside of the Minch house, feeling empty. "What am i supposed to do first? I know I have to get to Giant Step, but..." I grabbed the stone from my backpack and pressed it against my forehead. Only a single note played.

Suddenly I realized just how tired I was.

"I need some sleep first before I do anything..." And with a sigh I walked back towards my house.
