Abby's POV-

"I'm going out," I yell to the Schuyler sisters in the living room as I grab my old jacket.

"Okay, don't be out too long!" Angelica calls back, she's basically become my mother.

"I won't!" I call as I grab my house key and shove it in my jean pocket. I open the door and step into the hallway. I look left and right, making sure nobody is out to see me. Once I confirm no one is around I stride down the hall to the door leading outside. I take a deep breath of the cold, fresh, night air as I open the door.

Alexander's POV-

I sit on the small red couch in the living room while I wait for John to come back from a visit to him mom's. I check the time on my phone, 8:32, not too late for a walk. I stand up and put my phone in my sweatshirt pocket. I check my pocket for my dorm key before I venture outside of the room. I hear yelling and laughing from rooms nearby when I'm out in the hall. I walk to the nearest door leading outside. I shiver when I open it, boy is it cold.

Abby's POV-

The park near the campus is my comfort spot. I sit on a swing and sway forward and back, slowly. There is silence for awhile but not too long after it begin to calm I hear footsteps behind me. I don't turn around, assuming it's just someone walking by. A familiar voice says something behind me, and my hear stops. "Abby, is that you?" Alexander.

I turn around and see his perfect face. "W-what are you doing here?" Confusion covers all my limbs as I begin to tremble, in still mad at him for leaving me for whoever that was, but I don't want to hurt him.

"I was just on a walk," he pauses, like around and continues, "why are you here?"
I sigh, "Just to sit awhile." I let my legs sway with the swing I'm sitting on.

"Um... mind if I sit down?" Alex gestures to the swing next to mine as he says this.

My mind asks me if I really want to deal with him right now. "I don't mind at all," I smile a bit, remembering the good old days with Alex. He sits next to me and stares into the distance, his brown eyes have a shine from the moon. "So, how're you?" I turn my head to face him, not caring if he thinks I'm staring, nobody could ever stop staring at him.

Alexander's POV-

"So, how're you?" Abby says as she turns her head. I don't look at her, but I know she's watching me.

"I'm pretty good, how about you?" I don't admit to Abby but John is one of the only people making my life "pretty good".

"I'm okay, I guess." Abby pauses, I can feel her gaze leave me. "I'm not super good but it's no that bad, so, I'm okay."

I look over at the side of her head and down to her hands, she's shaking. "Do you mind telling me what's making it not super good?"

Abby turns her head to face mine. Our eyes meet for the first time in forever.
