Evan was waiting for Connor to arrive at the restaurant they were supposed to go to. The waitress, Christine, came back for the seventh time and asked if he was ready to order. He replied once again with,
"Oh um no. He'll be here any minute n-now I I just gotta wait"

People started giving him that look that screams, 'oh yeah I feel bad for you but I'm just gonna give you looks and make you feel worse about this whole situation'

That's what it felt like to Evan anyways. Connor still hadn't shown up. Honestly Evan was doubting if he even would. Connor was... a douche. But Evan would never admit it.

Evan was growing panicked by how Connor wasn't there and people kept looking at him. He didn't even need to see them. He could practically feel the stares burning holes in him.

His breath started quickening and sweat was forming on his palms. He needed to get out of there. He stood up and was about to run out until a short boy who looked about his age, with brown hair and glasses sat down and said,
"Sorry I'm late, babe, tragic is craaaazy right now."

Evan sat back down and the other male leaned in close and said quietly,
"I'm Jared. Just go with it, yeah? Whoever didn't bother to show up is a dick."

Evan smiled and went along with it. He seemed sweet and he saved him from total humiliation and he's cute.
"I-I'm Evan"

They ordered and got dinner together. Jared even payed.
Evan thanked Jared and was about to call a taxi until he felt a hand on his shoulder.
"Hey I can drive you home if you want"

Evan agreed and let Jared drive him home. When Evan walked to his door he heard Jared's voice behind him,
"Do you maybe want to go out on a planned date sometime?"

Evan giggled and Jared died 'cause that's adorable
"Of c-course! I had fun tonight"

Evan broke it off with Connor that night over text OHHHHHHHHH!!!

And Jared and Evan dated and were happy together.
