Marklin was gone. Gadget’s eyes widened in surprise. He noticed the hole a second later, looking down it to see Marklin and Jasper.

“He’s ok!” Marklin called, in Jasper’s arms, eyes full of tears.

“Of course I am, distel,” Jasper cooed, “and who is that then?”

‘I’m Gadget.’ Gadget signed before waving hello.

“He’s Gadget.” Marklin translated, Jasper smiled up at him.

“Nice to meet you, if it’s not a problem, can you help us out please?” Jasper asked.

Gadget smiled and gave him a thumbs up before taking his grapple and pulling out to use as a rope. He dropped it down for them to climb up. Gladly the two climbed out. Once out Marklin finally took the moment to kiss his otter. Gadget smiled, letting them have their moment. Marklin and Jasper both took each other's hands and Marklin snuggled into Jasper’s arm.

“Let’s get back, I think Kathie had something she wanted to do.” Marklin said softly.

“Alright, let’s get back.” Jasper chuckled. “So what did I miss?”

“Ooooh I kicked Killroy’s ass!” Marklin called, he saw Gadget. “Oh, yeah.”

Gadget just gave him a small smile to show that it was alright. His ears twitched as he heard a groan. Quickly, he darted off towards the sound.

“Does he do that?” Jasper asked, Marklin let go of him.

“No.” and he ran off after Gadget.

Gadget stopped when he saw a certain jackal on the ground, clutching his chest and whimpering. The mask was off, and the other’s face was revealed. Gadget felt his hand raise to cover his mouth in shock. Marklin stopped just short of Gadget, he covered his mouth with his hands.

“FINN!” Gadget cried out, running to the jackal. Infinite’s ears twitched slightly, his eyes opening.

“G-Gadg-” He burst into a coughing fit.

Suddenly with air in his feet, Marklin was skidding next to Infinite. “Hang in there kid,” Marklin give Infinite a quick glance over, then put his hands over the gushing hole in the jackals chest, he looked up. “One of you go to base and get someone!”

Gadget looked a bit apprehensive to leave Infinite, but nodded and got up, quickly running towards the base. Infinite watched Gadget leave, breathing heavily.

“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I-” Marklin took a deep breath and gulped back his emotions. “You’re going to be ok, Infinite, just fine.” Marklin started to look over Infinite for more injuries, still holding his hands into the gushing hole in the jackals chest. “You’re pretty strong for staying here for so long, you must really have something to stay for.”

Infinite felt a small smile grace his muzzle as he looked back to where Gadget ran off.

Soon enough Gadget came back with Sonic. The blue hedgehog’s eyes widened when he saw Infinite. “Woah. Alright, we have to get him back to the base, and quick!”

“We need 5 Ml of plasma and a stretcher stat!” Marklin screamed.

“I don’t know where any, um… plasma is, but I think I can find a stretcher fast!” He then ran off, soon coming back with the desired thing. Marklin awkwardly stood, hands still on Infinite’s hole.

“Alright, two of you need to lift him a few inches and another needs to slide under the stretcher.” Marklin called, Jasper joged up.

“I can help lift.” Jasper said, he knelt down at Infinite’s head. Gadget knelt by his feet as Sonic got the stretcher ready to slide.

“Alright, on my mark.” Marklin gulped. “One, two, three, NOW!”

All at once, Jasper and Gadget picked him up, Sonic quickly sliding the stretcher under him.

Marklin finally breathed as Infinite was on the stretcher. He gulped. “Alright, two of you pick up the strecher and we can start, I can’t take my hands off him, he’s lost to much blood and other crap already.”

Sonic and Jasper nodded, picking up the stretcher. Infinite glanced between them, eyes half lidded.

“Alright, Gadget if you can run ahead. When we get to base we need 5 Ml plasma, compressions, and oxygen.” Marklin called as the three started the slow crawl back to base. Gadget nodded, but before he could run, he noticed Infinite’s mask on the ground. Quickly, he picked it up and ran ahead towards the base.
