I rush to my window after slamming on my glasses (ow), but it's too dark to see outside since we have to get up so early for school. Taking a deep breath, I close my eyes and convince myself that I was just being paranoid and that it was all in the dream. The scary thing to me was that I didn't even know who that laugh belonged to, and I don't think I want to.

I follow along the rest of the morning normally, as if nothing had happened. I left the house on time with a hug and wave to my aunt, relieved when I see Kazuya's familiar and comforting outline already at the stop.

"Hey, Mia. How'd you sleep?"

"I...I slept alright. You?" I decided not to tell him about my strange dream, no reason for him to worry.

"Same." He flashed me a bright smile that made me break into a smile as well. Man, those are contagious.

He followed me onto the bus as it pulled up, sitting in the front seat again. I sighed and looked out the window, for a second the woods seemed as dark as my dream, I blinked and the light shown through the trees again. Kazuya must've felt me tense up because he gave me a concerned look.

"Mia? What's wrong?"

"N-nothing...I just thought I saw something."

He gave me another concerned look but much to my relief, the bus slowed as we stopped at the school.
