"You done packing yet?" Lysander asked excitedly over the phone, "Gosh, I am so excited."

I can tell.

"Of course you are," I grumbled, "It's, like, the most obvious thing ever."

No, he sounds totally sounds depressed. Just insert eye-roll here.

"You look tired," He commented.

"Nice to see you noticed," I said, "Because I, UNLIKE SOMEBODY, had to wake up at 5:30 in the morning whereas SOMEBODY had the luxury to wake up at WHATEVER TIME IT IS IN BRAZIL!" I yelled at him through the phone.

That was because, at that time, I had to wake up VERY early to be in time for the fight that would leave at 6.

My mom slammed the door open. "Are you okay? I heard yelling in here." My mom panted, probably from sprinting from her room to mine.

"Wait, you were yelling? Are you okay?" Lysander asked in the same worried tone my mom used.

I mentally facepalmed. If I could, I would have slapped Lysander. That idiot.

"Who are you talking to?" My mom asked. Uh-oh. I think I'm going to get in trouble.

"Lysander, ma'am!" Lysander cheered happily, still stupidly oblivious about, well, everything.

"Oh. Well, that's okay." She smiled, surprisingly. "I'm sure Lysander is an awesome and charming guy or whatever adjectives you teens use these days. Hot? No, he's not on fire. Nevermind. But you have to get packing because I 1) want to sleep after this and 2) don't want to see you crying about missing the flight." Mom closed the door without another word.

It's not like she hated him weeks ago or anything....

Then she peeked back in. "Is this Lysander guy going with you?" She asked.

"Uh-" I started. Well, did I ever mention that I never told her about Lysander's situation?

You see, he's going to return with us so that kinda means he went with us...

"Yeah," I said, "He is."

"That's good!" She smiled excitedly, "Ask him to pick you up."

"He's taking the bus," I lied.

"Why don't you take that too?"

"You need a ticket," I told her. "Actually, he just told me that he was riding to school in his dad's car."

"How did you know when he didn't say a word?" She asked skeptically.

"I'm magical..." I told her.

"Can he take you?" She asked, getting impatient.

"His car can only fit two people..." I smiled weakly.

"How can he fit his luggage then?" She raised an eyebrow.

"He glued them to the roof of the car," I explained.

"Uh-huh." She lowered her glasses, "I see. He could tie you to the roof, too. Glue is too strong. You'll get just as good an experience as going to Eight Flags of wherever you wanted to go."

"There isn't enough room on his roof," I told her, "He brought his entire house with him."

She rolled her eyes. "Forget about me saying he was a decent person."

I didn't want to tell her she never said anything about him being a decent person.

She sighed. "Let's go- wait, is that all you're taking?" She gaped at my one suitcase and pillow.

"Yeah," I said, "Is this too much?"

She coughed. "No, sweetie, n-not at all," even though she was still staring at my impressive squishing-things-not-neatly abilities. What? I took all I needed, and that's the only thing that matters.

Kinda.

"Fine," She sighed once more, "Let's go."

_

"Wow," I breathed, "This place is beautiful."

I was lucky enough to be there, seeing why and how these sights attracted tourists. Me? Well, the only thing that attracted me was the name of this weird place- Sugar Loaf.

Just a heads up, this place has nothing to do with sweets or sugar or bread.

But if there was, that would be pretty awesome. Man, I do hope that they'll one day make a mountain out of chocolate... that would be so nice. The ideal vacation spot.

I would tell you the city Sugarloaf was in, but 1) that's going to be very hard to pronounce, and 2) it takes too much effort. I don't feel like doing it now, but maybe if you ask me later I will.

The teacher literally was lecturing us on every single little fact that it was kind of hard to just relax.

"Look at the bird over there! What is its species? Don't tell me the answer; just put it in your pop quiz tomorrow. Oops, I just told you about it. Oh, well."

She didn't stop after that, she continued. "You have to calculate the square feet of the entire mountain, moving on!"

"You also need to tell us when this mountain was discovered and who discovered it. Ooh, look at that cute park ranger over there. Wait there while I flirt with them." She walked away quickly so she could catch up with him.

I facepalmed. "You excited for the pop quiz tomorrow?" I asked Greyson, who was walking beside me, staring at something.

"Look," He said, sounding very fascinated, "Pretty cloud."

"Uh-huh," I agreed slowly, "I asked a pretty question, too, and it'll be pretty pretty if you answered it."

"Oh," He gasped, "You said pretty two times!"

"Thanks, Captain Obvious. I didn't know that." I rolled my eyes.

"And look there!" He said, pointing at something.

"What?" I asked.

"The bird." He replied.

Maybe I'll get a free test review since the teacher turned off all the Wifi anyway. She was too busy flirting with that park ranger. We could hear the constant conversation going on between the two.

I'd be surprised if they worked out. I doubt they could understand each other.

So here was the conversation:

"Hey, cutie," Ms. Thomas (the old lady with the funky hair), said.

"Ta louca mulher(You're crazy, woman)," The park ranger stepped back.

"Wanna go out sometime?" She winked.

"A montanha está bem aí se você quiser que eu te empurre para fora dela, (The mountain's right there if you want me to push you off it)" The park ranger offered.

"Sure. What time?" This woman really was crazy. She just didn't get it.

"Com certeza visitarei sua lápide se você oferecer wi-fi gratuito lá (I'll be sure to visit your gravestone if you offer free wifi there... )..." the park ranger informed her.

"That's so sweet of you!" hen she did something unexpected. She smiled. Like, I've never seen her smile, so she looked like something in between a dying gorilla and a drowning elephant.

"Vou até com certeza visitar com frequência se você calar a boca e me deixar em paz agora (I'll even be sure to visit often if you shut up and leave me alone now...) ..."

"Aww, you're so good at flirting! I'll see you on our date." She blew, sorry, tried to blow, a kiss but it was like she was wiping her lips.

I feel like I shouldn't be intruding on my teacher's love life, but it's too disgusting not to ignore.

"Hi." A familiar voice said behind me.

I turned around and there was Lysander.

"It's me." He smiled. "I'm back. Did you miss me?"

_

Hi, People of Brazil!

Okay, I'm pretty sure almost none of you are from Brazil, so that's why I kindly provided a translated version o what the park ranger said. If you couldn't tell, the teacher didn't even know the park ranger's name XD

Grammarly hates me because I entered all this Portuguese stuff that Brazilians say and now it's correcting me on EVERYTHING. No, I'm not Brazilian, this was from Google, so a big shoutout to it.

I'M AN AMERICAN MIDDLE SCHOOLER, Y'ALL, GET THE FACTS STRAIGHT.

Okay, thanks for reading, and I feel like the next chapter or the next two will be the lat because the deadline is VERYYYYY close.

Have a nice day! How did you like this chapter? If you did, please comment, vote, and share!

Thanks again!
