The weather is doing that thing again. I suppose, in the end, it means it's that time of the week. You start telling the days by how the wind tastes, and everything else blends into a meaningless chatter.

But, today, the wind tastes like victory.

First Place: 'Described as odd, emotionally unstable, but one hell of a painter' by Katherynnicolee in 'Imagination Station'

This contest was specifically about character work, and this story has done that exceptionally. Katherynnicolee worked very hard on this, and that shows. She made an audiobook – which is something a person can only do with utmost confidence in the story, and it's a confidence well deserved.

A lot of the character we must infer. The character isn't always told to us, so we observe their thoughts and their behaviour, and we draw our own conclusions on what world they live in their head.

This story is certainly something to be proud of, and I think the audio book does very well.

Addtionally, @Katherynnicolee is awarded the 'A Truly Magical Experience' TimberWoolf certificate for this entry.

Second Place: 'War Between Fangirls' by ForevaFranticFangirl in 'Weekly Wattpad Contest Entries'

This work does amazing things with the prompts while working very intricately with relationships between characters.

It's a little bit more plot-driven, in the fact that there is a character journey for all three our MC's, but most of the charm in this entry comes from the idea that it's a character-driven plot, and character are important this week.

Additionally, @ForevaFranticFangirl is awarded the 'Nerdiest Reference' TimberWoolf certificate at least 500 times over for this entry and total nerd-overload.

Third Place: 'My Best Friend' (under contest 44) by S_A_Scammel in My Weekly Wattpad Contest Submissions

I wasn't really sure what to do with this. It was a lot and simultaneously so little.

I've decided to award this third place, even though it's not very character-focused or plot-focused, because there's a certain atmospheric quality to it. It's the feeling you experience when you go to the cinema to watch a well-publicised flick, and then you see a trailer for another movie and you think to yourself 'Dude, I totally gotta go watch that when it comes out.'

It's very difficult for me to explain in any other way. There just seems to be so much more to it than it says, and I like that intangible quality of the story.

Additionally, @S_A_Scammel is awarded the 'Newcomer of The Week' TimberWoolf certificate for this.

Honorable Mention: 'weekly contest #44 entry' by DavidLikesBigRobots in 'stuff'

He really went above and beyond with the prompts and crafted a very interesting and in-depth world. I'd very much like to read that narrative as a Young Adults novel which – good news! – he's actually considering!

Additionally, @DavidLikesBigRobots has wheedled his way into my heart, so I'm awarding him the 'I think you're cool as a person and this is completely biased of me, but here, have a shout-out' TimberWoolf certificate.

There more awards to hand out this week:

'Flattery Gets you Everywhere' and 'Community Paragon' and 'Familiar Face' to SoniaGallagher

The 'I did not see that coming' to colladojme for ... I can't explain it. Check it out at '1.The Amulet Made Me Do It.' in 'Short Stories'

Thank you very much for your time. I'm going to taste the winds of change.
