Chapter 19 – Josh's POV

Ride 'Em On Down

https://youtu.be/Mko4KSYlI-Q

I wake up with two boys in my bed.

With me this could be going in a completely different direction. Unfortunately, it's nothing scandalous. It's just my brother from another mother and his latest friend.

Blake introduced me to his other Grayson obsession last night.

I have to admit I prefer this Grayson to the other one. He's more fun and he seems a whole lot healthier for Blake. Also, he's never broken his heart as far as I know.

I get out of bed without waking them up and head for the kitchen so I can make breakfast.

I feel like a single dad taking care of his kids.

It kinda amuses me.

I don't know what is my stance on having children. I would actually like to have children if I'm being honest, but I'm sure I would be a good dad. I have a shit father, so a very bad paternal figure to follow.

If I had a kid, I would absolutely not try to control their life. I'd let them do whatever they wanted.

Foraging through my fridge, I start to whip up something to make for breakfast.

Half an hour later, Blake and Tyler walk into the room like ghost, dragging their feet on the ground, hair sticking up and sleep still in their eyes.

"Good morning children," I greet them way too enthusiastically for the faces they are making.

Good, I enjoy annoying people in the morning.

I am a chaotic morning person.

"I never get how you have the energy to do anything in the morning, you're so strange," Blake mumbles, going to sit at the counter. I put a plate in front of him with eggs and bacon and hash browns.

Tyler follows him, and I give him a plate too. "Don't insult your husband Blake, he made us breakfast. The only breakfast I usually eat is the one I steal from my sister."

"Your gross gross sister," I add.

"My gross gross sister," Tyler agrees, shoving food in his mouth.

I sit down and start eating too. "So, does he have any chance with your gross gross sister?" I ask Tyler pointing to Blake with my fork.

"Honestly, yeah, but she's out of it, so there's an eighty percent chance that she sabotages it on her own."

"Can we stop talking about this, please?" Blake whines.

I ignore Blake. "If he serenaded his love to her, you'd think it would work?"

"Right now, probably not," Tyler says, shaking his head. "She'd freak out. She wouldn't know what to do. And she would probably think he was just messing with her."

"Once again, can we please stop talking about this? Your sister doesn't actually like me. She tolerates me," Blake says, looking like he's in pain.

Tyler puts his fork down and stares at Blake. "Has she seen you shirtless yet?"

"I don't see how that's relevant," Blake answers a little defensively.

Oooooh. What is that I see in his face? Is that his cheeks getting a little red.

I wanna laugh evilly.

"HAS SHE?" Tyler presses.

"I guess, yeah. For like a second," Blake mumbles, staring at the ground and not at us.

I snort. He glares at me.

Oh did she now? When did that happen?

Tyler grins. "Then you're good honey. Just let it stew for a little longer."

"You're ridiculous," Blake says, sighing.

Tyler just wiggles his eyebrows at him. "And she's probably thirsting over your chest."

"He does have a good chest," I agree, shoving food in my mouth.

"Can I just eat my breakfast in peace?" Blake whines again.

"No, this is the price you have to pay for my cooking," I tell him with an evil grin.

"Too high a price, honestly," Blake replies and gets up.

I laugh again and grab his arm. "Come on, come on, we're joking, we'll drop the matter and not ask how and when his gross gross sister saw your chest."

"And we totally won't be jealous about it," Tyler adds.

Blake glares at us, but sits back on his chair.

After we were done eating, they both monopolize my two bathrooms so I just clean up after them, and I once again feel very much like a single father.

"So, do I need to lend some clothes to my boyfriends so the neighbors don't figure out you spent the night in my bed," I yell in the middle of the apartment.

"I have my own clothes here," Blake yells back, at the same time that Tyler yells, "I have clothes in my bag."

The two boys join me in the living room, where I'm petting Miss Puss.

"You're both so daft, it's crazy," I say, not looking at them, just staring lovingly at my cat.

She's in a good mood today. I'm getting all the belly rubs I want.

"Josh thinks that putting his clothes on will make us his boyfriends," Blake tells Tyler, leaning a little close to him like he's telling him a secret, but like, he's not whispering, so who looks like an idiot now?

"Everyone knows this is how it works," I point out.

"You're a weirdo."

I roll my eyes. Useless. Both of them. "Whatever. You both got awful skin. You're not hydrating enough, so I have no interest in you."

"What?" Tyler snorts.

"Ignore him," Blake tells him.

"Dryyyyy skin. EW," I just say very loudly, standing up.

"Does he ever make sense?" Tyler asks.

"Rarely," Blake answers.

"I always make sense," I grab Tyler's hand. "Look at that skin! Look at those knuckles! How is this attractive? You're not smooth. I have no interest. That's probably why kissing you wasn't interesting. You also got chapped lips."

"Hey, my lips are fine," Tyler answers, glaring at me.

"Alright, sure they're fine, but the rest of you is a mess."

Blake is looking at us, not impressed. "I'd like to say make out already and get it over with, but you kinda already did, so I don't know what to do right now."

"Go back in my bathroom and put some lotion on, start there," I tell him.

"See, I'm just doing a public service here but not having smooth skin. If I did, you'd be a mess. You couldn't control yourself," Blake defends himself.

"That's a very bad excuse for not having a skincare routine. It's fine now because you're still young, but it'll show in twenty years."

"This is a very weird conversation to have in the morning," Tyler mumbles, his back swung on his back, clearly ready to leave for school.

"How is it weird to talk about properly caring about your skin?" I ask, narrowing my eyes at them.

"He's very passionate about that subject," Blake tells Tyler.

Straight men. Ugh.

"Whatever, don't come to me when you look like you're seventy at forty."

The two boys laugh at me.

"Alright, we're going now," Blake says.

"Fine. Bye bye kids. Have fun. Make daddy proud," I say, and wiggle my eyebrows at them.

"Run before he says more shit," Blake says, pushing Tyler on the back.

"DADDY LOVES YOU!" I yelled as they run away.

I laughed alone like a maniac and go back to petting Miss Puss.
