Wally heard the news from earlier about his neighbor losing their pet. The very area outside the house felt a little less lively. He gave the door, a few light knocks. Inside there was a weeping voice that said it was okay to come inside. Wally opened the door very slowly, and stepped inside. "Hello, neighbor." He said softly. He saw neighbor's face. Their eyes were red and puffy. "Oh, neighbor. I heard your pet went over the rainbow bridge." He caressed their leg trying to comfort them. "I'm so so sorry that this happened to you neighbor." He used his thumbs to brush the tears away.

He took neighbor's face in both his hands. "My poor beautiful neighbor. I never had a pet before, so I won't pretend to know how it feels, but I am sad that you're in pain." He awkwardly gave a hug, patting their back. "If you need me with you, I can stay as long as you need." He said still wrapped in the hug. "I was told death is a part of life. I think it's a very hard part of it." He said trying to figure out the right words. Wally wished he could just take the pain in neighbor's heart away. It broke his own heart seeing them this way. He felt a sting when tears started forming in his own eyes

"Neighbor, I think that even though they have moved along, they are still with you." He said pulling back. "They're with you, right here." He said poking them in the left side of their chest. "They're in your heart, and I'm sure they loved you very much." He leaned back into their arms. "You wanna stay like this with me? I'll be here to comfort you as long as you like. Would you be okay with that neighbor?" He saw a nod, and smiled.

"I love you neighbor."
