Two people were jumping from a window...

One was a short girl, with blonde hair, and the other was a tall black haired male, covered in bandages.

"Stop right there!" A voice shouted, they seemed to be police man. The sounds of gun were firing, the noise was so loud...

The male was running with the girl... but... he got shot.

'That's not supposed to happen...' a voice said, it was Skye's own voice... she was telling herself something else was supposed to happen.

The man was laying there, coughing up blood, the girl was at his side.

"Zack...? Zack? Zack?!" The girl was shouting his name.

'Why isn't he waking up?!' The voice was speaking again.

"Zack! ZACK!"

~

"SKYE!" A voice shouted. Skye's eyes immediately popped open.

'Jax?' She wanted to say, but what came out was a choked sob.

"Are you alright? You look like a mess." Jax says.

Skye just continued to sob, she couldn't answer.

'Wait did I just make it worse?' Jax sighed and sat on the bed, beside her.

"What the hell are you crying about?" He asked.

"I-I don't know..." She mumbles in between cries.

"You don't know?" He mutters.

She nodded. "There was a guy and a girl... they were running from the police..." She choked out.

"Hold on... calm down. I can't understand you." He says calmly. "Take some breaths before speaking."

Skye nodded and took a deep breath. "They were running... and the guy got shot... and died... but it didn't feel like that was supposed to happen... it felt like they were both supposed to run away..."

"So you're crying because the guy died?" Jax asked.

"I guess so... I don't know..." Skye mumbles.

Jax sighed, standing up. "Well just get back to sleep and we'll talk about it in the morning... I'm going back to bed..."

"Wait!" Skye says, grabbing his arm and pulling him to her. "C-Can you just sit with me for a bit?"

"Huh?!" He muttered, very confused.

"You don't have to stay for long... just until I fall asleep... please." She says.

"Like a simple please will work on me."

"Please."

And just then he sighed and sat next to her, putting his head on the headboard, while she subconsciously put her head on his shoulder. But... Jax didn't seem to mind it... he even laid his own cheek on the top of her head.

And just like that they stayed there, as if time had stopped. It felt nice... so they just sat there until they felt like one of them should leave.

But neither of them left... they both just let sleep overtake them, with their own warmth giving each other the very comfort and calmness they needed.

~

"Why did you do this to me, Jax...?" A voice said to the male.

Jax looked around and noticed a girl, Skye, to be exact, staring at him.

"You did this to me once... why'd you do it again... I was happy being with you... so why'd you kill me again...?"

He wants to ask her what she means but his voice won't come out. Then something slashed her stomach... something sharp and large... a scythe...

'No no no no no! What's going on- what just- SKYE?!' Why can't he yell.

"I guess... since 'Ray' and I are the same you have to kill me... even if I don't want to die yet... I didn't desire it... that's a heartless choice... Zack."

~

Jax woke up with heavy breaths. 'What was that? What happened?!'

He then looked around. He was in his bed, but there wasn't the same warmth as before... Skye was gone.

Is she- No! That was only a dream. She's probably just sitting on the couch waiting for him, like she does when she waits for him to come home.

Jax took a deep breath before standing up and walking out of his room.

And just as he suspected, Skye was sitting on the couch watching tv.

"Hey-" Skye noticed his shaken appearance. "Are you okay?" She asked, walking over to him, even if her eyes looked lifeless, you could tell she was worried.

He just placed a hand on her head and sighed in relief. "Yeah... I'm just glad you're okay..." He mumbled.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Skye asked.

The male just sighed with a small smile. "It's nothing, don't worry about it..."

"O-Okay?" Skye mumbles confused.

"Oh yeah. You were crying last night, do you feel better?" He asked her.

Skye was a bit embarrassed she had cried again, but she nodded. "Yeah I do... but it's really all thanks to you." She says.

"Huh? Why thanks to me?" He asked.

"If it weren't for you, I'd still be upset." She says. "You were there and you comforted me. Thank you." She says with a small smile.

Jax glanced away from her, he didn't want to show that he was embarrassed. "Yeah... well I'm just glad you're fine now..." He mumbles.

"Huh? What'd you say?" She asked.

"It's nothing!" He shouts.

"Okay, okay, sorry I'm not going to pry." She laughed a little. Her being happy had caused Jax to smile a bit. 'At least she's not crying anymore...'

"Oh hey. I forgot I needed to go out real quick. Do you mind 'holding down the fort' until I get back?" Jax asked, using a childish term.

"You got it, captain." Skye jokes, playfully saluting to him. "Where are you going though?"

"The old man wanted me to stop by the church..." Jax mumbles. "Trust me, it's better staying here."

"Alright. But why don't you want me to come with you?" She smirked a little. "Do you not want me to meet your parent?"

"Shut up! He's not my parent!" 'I hate that she isn't too far off... but I can't tell her that, she's gonna think I'm weird... I'll just tell her part of the truth that way I'm not lying...' "And it's just boring. As I said, it's better being here."

"Fine..." Skye says and sighs. "You better bring me back something though."

"You've become a lot more childlike and greedy since we've met..." Jax mumbles. "And I'll bring back a pastry or somethin', okay, I'm gonna head out." He said and put on a hoodie, leaving the apartment.

Skye sighed and stood up. "What am I supposed to do now...?" She looked around. "The place is a bit dirty... but not as bad as when we first cleaned up..." She mumbles, she then looked down the hall at a particular area. "Or..."

Skye was now staring at the locked door. "Even though Jax said the man that gave him this place had the key, I doubt that there wouldn't be a spare..."

'Wait I have a needle in my bag don't I?' Skye thought glancing down at her small black bag, before looking through it. "Ah! I do have one!" She says, pulling the small sewing needle out.

'I don't have the skill of lock-picking but maybe I will today!' She thought, before trying to pick the lock of the door.

~

"Guess I won't ever have that skill..." Skye mumbles. She has tried to pick that lock for a good 10 minutes and had no avail.

"Damn, guess I should just ask Jax about it again, and see if he can get the key..." Skye says to herself, sitting back down on the couch. "I don't want to bother him about it again but something's been bugging me about it..."

Skye sighed and started flipping through channels until she came across a certain news station.

" Serial Murders Increased: Please Stay Cautious "

"Serial murders..." Skye mumbles. "Father talked about them..." She subconsciously put the remote down and listened intently.

"Weekly murders have been increasing. It's in random orders too, one week, a bunch of civilians will be dead, and then for the next month there will be no killings. The killer has strange patterns."

"This reminds me of a serial killer we had in the past... What was his name again?"

"Isaac Foster?"

When Skye heard the name her heartbeat increased. Why? She never knew the man, hell, she's never even heard of him.

"Do you think this could be Isaac Foster's doing?"

"No, it couldn't be, he was proclaimed dead over 20 years ago, it was the same time Rachel Gardner's death announced too."

Skye turned off the tv at that point. Her head was spinning. Why was it spinning? It hurts. Why does it hurt?

'Those names. Why did those names sound familiar?! Isaac Foster. Rachel Gardner.' She thought.

'Rachel Gardner... that sounds way too familiar... and Isaac Foster... Isaac Foster... Zack...? ZACK?!'

'Was that the Zack from my dream?! Was Isaac Foster the man from my dream?! Do I know him...?!'
