Am I dead? Gidget questioned herself. She thought the hawk would've killed her by now. But yet here she was, still alive. Slowly opening her eyes, the fluffy Pomeranian found the hawk sprawled on the ground, groaning in pain. She now noticed the chain that was clasped to his right foot. The hawk looked up at her with sad eyes.

Before Gidget could open her mouth to speak, Chloe butted in, "This is why we shouldn't trust strangers that we find in dark sheds on rooftops, even if they say they'll help us!" The gray tabby cat was clearly irritated, her eyes glittering with anger and her tail lashing back and forth. Mel, Buddy and Sweetpea stood a safe distance away. Pepe still had not returned from his act of retreat. Sighing, Gidget looked down at the hawk. "I can't believe you tricked me..." she mumbled, still trying to recover from her state of shock.

"I'm sorry, I just... I can't help it! I was born with these... killer instincts..." the hawk defended himself. Scrambling up, he held out his chained foot and stated, "Tell you what. If you give me a second chance, I'll help you this time. I promise." He tilted his head to the side like a begging puppy. Actually convinced, Gidget stepped forward.

"Nice try!" Chloe hissed, not falling for it. Quickly, she stepped in between the pair and, claws outstretched, whacked the hawk on the side of the face. Screeching, the hawk backed away from the gray tabby cat, three scratches on his left cheek that were slowly bleeding, while Gidget glared at Chloe.

"There was no need for that!" Gidget barked. Rolling her green eyes at the fluffy white Pomeranian, Chloe hissed through clenched teeth, "You wanna be eaten? Be my guest!"

Just then, a small voice cried out, "STOP! Please?"
