"Do any of these houses look familiar to you Duke?" Max asked quietly. The two dog brothers were walking side by side along the sidewalk in one of the neighborhoods of Brooklyn. They had been going block to block searching for Duke's old house. Each time had no success. Their stomachs by now were finally settling down after the sausage massacre.

Looking up at one house before turning his head to look at another, Duke sighed and mumbled, "No." Biting his lip, Max gently nudged his brother as he said reassuringly, "Don't worry, we'll find it. Can't be far now." Nodding his head quietly, Duke scrunched his face up as a thought entered his mind.

"Duke, what's on your mind?" Max asked, sensing something was up.

"What do you think our friends are doing? We've been gone for so long that they have to notice we're not there," Duke pointed out. Thinking for a second before he could answer the question, Max replied, "I don't know. I guess they're just laying around at home, trying to find something to do."

"What about Gidget?" Duke asked.

"What do you mean?" Max answered Duke's question with a question of his own.

"Well... I mean... dude, everyone can see that Gidget likes you."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Like a friend."

"Not exactly how I'd put it..."

"Like... she has a crush on me?"

"Yep."

Stopping in his tracks, Max took this in. He knew Gidget always tried to strike up conversations with him in the past. But he never knew that she liked him more than a friend. The terrier felt a little guilty about not exactly returning her affections. Holding his head high, he declared, "You know what, when we get home, I'm gonna talk to her more often."

"That's nice- Max, I think we're being followed!" Duke suddenly pointed out. Behind the pair were some bushes. And they were rustling.
