MJ blinked. This field trip was starting to get really boring. After wandering around Stark Tower for 2 hours, already meeting Pepper Potts and stuck in a lecture, it wasn't hard for her to be.

"Now, are there any questions?"

Can I read my book now? MJ though as her best friend raised his hand.

"What can you tell us about the arc reactor powering the place?" He asked.

MJ smirked. Of course Peter Parker would ask that. The two of them- well, three if you include Ned- were some of the biggest losers in the school. A distant girl with the world's most unmanigable hair and her nose in a book, a geek who spent his afternoons playing with Lego and building codes and the brightest mind of the lot, always building something new with his black glasses sliding down his nose every five minutes.

Tony Stark flashed his paparazzi smile. "Well-" he began, ranting about how it worked, what it did etc. MJ zoned out, choosing to instead picture herself whacking Flash Thompson repeatedly with her book. What a satisfying thought.

Peter was on the edge of his seat, absorbing absolutely everything the billionaire said. It was like taking a kid to Disneyland: eyes wide with wonder, oblivious to everything else, the whole shebang.

He's such a dork, MJ thought with a smile. 14 years old and understanding science that college students can't process. There was no denying that Peter Parker was the smartest kid to walk the planet.

"Okay." Tony clapped his hands, grabbing the attention of the kids who zoned out during his long-winded explanation. "Now, I'm going to show you the labs."

They all followed him to the labs, the science nerds about to explode as they fangirled. It was pretty cool, but not enough to put emotion on Michelle's face. She begrudgingly squeezed her way over to Peter and Ned at the front, the only bored face out of the three.

"Here we have been working on all sorts of projects. From creating new weapons to genetically altering animals, such as insects, even creating the greatest coffee machine to walk the earth. And I mean walk."

As if on cue, an odd machine clonked it's way noisily over to Tony, beeping merrily as it shot out a mug full of coffee. The drink went everywhere, splattering onto Stark's loafers. Despite its mistake, the machine beeped, pleased with its work.

"We're... still working on it." Stark sighed and carried on, pointing out the different scientists and projects. Michelle let her hand run over the wall, not noticing something crawl up her arm.

They continued along, Peter about to explode with excitement at absolutely everything he saw. "Look at the tech! That coding must be so advanced! Wait, they have vibranium!? That's insane!"

MJ snorted. "Calm down, loser. You're going to pop a butto- YEOW!" A sharp pain shot through her hand, paralyzing her arm temporarily. She looked down, unimpressed, and slapped the spider off her hand. "Stupid bug."

"What was it?" Peter asked?

She shrugged. "It's nothing, I'm totally-" the room spun sharply and MJ grabbed for the wall, trying to stop the dizziness. "Oh boy." A hand steadied her, looping around her back and under her arms.

"MJ, are you okay? MJ!"

Michelle flinched at the loud noise, squeezing her eyes shut. Her brain felt like it was swimming through mud. A churning started in her stomach and and she gagged. "I'm gonna be sick." She shot up, stumbling towards the door and down the corridor. Where's the bathroom?

MJ found it and shoved open the door, hurrying into a stall just in time. She wiped her mouth, reeling at the taste in her mouth and stood up gingerly. "That was some spider," she muttered, moving for the sinks. Her hand caught on something and she yelped, falling down again. She tried to kill her hand away, but it was stuck. On a bathroom stall. Not holding onto anything.

She growled with frustration. "Oh come on! Get off!" Her hand ripped off, leaving her palm stinging. "Ow."

MJ rushed to the sink, putting it under water as she stared at herself in the mirror. What the heck just happened!? Was there superglue or something on the wall? Is this some kind of mean prank? She sighed, splashing the cold liquid onto her face. It woke her up a little and the room wasn't spinning as much. Her head was still throbbing, a pounding beat against her skull.

"Well I don't think that's very suitable-"

MJ stopped. There want anyone else in the bathrooms. So where was the voice coming from? She pricked her ears, listening carefully. There were footsteps as well. And they were coming from... outside? She stepped back, startled. How could she hear what was happening outside?

What the heck is happening to me?

Peter sighed, flopping back into the train seat. That field trip had been a mess. MJ for sick, having to leave early after getting sick, which left Peter as an open target for Flash. So there he was, a scrawny kid with a black eye hiding behind the thick frames of the glasses, his crossed arms covering the science pun on his shirt. At least he got what he was looking for.

Peter flipped open his notebook, scanning what he had written. When he got to his destination, he would finalize his plans.

Although he lived in Queens, New York, Peter was not headed for home. Rather, he was going to a place nobody wanted to call home.

The train stopped and he jumped off, walking quickly to avoid being caught by unwanted guests. Who knows what kinds of people were lurking in these streets. The kid finally stopped in front of an abandoned warehouse: his final destination. And his secret lair.

Peter walked inside, turning his phone flashlight on. On the first concrete column on his right was what appeared to be an old electricity control panel. It wasn't, of course. Instead it was a disguised hand scanner and the key to the lair. The far wall split apart slightly and Peter walked through, making sure the entrance closed behind him.

The room, or lair, was actually a lab. Well lit with old lights that Peter had tinkered with and plugged to the neighbouring company's electricity, it held workbenches and shelving units with all sorts of engineering and science equipment. A 3D printer in the corner, several computer screens from several different companies, a swivel chair, everything. And to believe that almost everything from the broom came from the tip or the second hand electronic store. What a waste.

"Hey Karen," Peter said to the air, walking over to the desk and sitting heavily in his chair, "Long time no see. How're you holding up?"

"I'm doing pretty well," the A.I. responded. "Did you get the information you were after?"

"Indeed I did. Copy this please and upload it to my computer." He smirked slightly as he threw his notebook down triumphantly on the printer, (the 2D one, mind you,) grabbing an apple from where he left it last time. "The key to the project, the cornerstone, the heart." He grabbed the notebook and tore the page out, holding it up triumphantly. "They key to stopping Stark create whatever monstrosity he builds." The diagram shone through, surrounded by complex formulae and notes.

"The arc reactor."

Dun dun DUUUUUUUUN!

What's going to happen? And who is the bad guy? Also, what happened with MJ? Let me tell you something now. Everything that happened here is going to change the course of the world.

Forever.

And I know who you think the villian is.
You're probably wrong.
