Megumi: But luckily for poor Bats here, he doesn't have to face them alone.

Sachi: Indeed, along the way, he began recruiting a bunch of kids to act as his sidekicks and with their help, Batman is able to deal with the crime rates in Gotham before ending up joining the Justice League.

Megumi: Which brings up a question to many non-DC fans, how in the world is a man dressed as a bat somehow able to do all of this?

Toomi: Well to answer your question, Batman himself is trained in many forms of martial arts. Most proficient in Jujutsu, Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Muay Thai, Savate, Karate, Kung Fu, Boxing, Capoeira, Krav Maga, Aikido, and Ninjitsu. And thanks to Superman and Wonder Woman, Batman has even mastered Kryptonian martial arts and even Amazonian fighting style.

Sachi: He's also a skilled strategist and a genius intellect. I mean he has like 12 Master degrees in his education.

Megumi: And thanks to a certain sexy lady magician, Batman is also an expert escape artist, capable of escaping even the most hopeless of scenarios.

Toomi: But one of Batman's most iconic arsenal is his Batsuit. Covered heat to toe in armour, the Batsuit is impervious to bullets, fire, electricity and even ordinary punches. He also has a cape which can be used for gliding through the air.

Toomi: After hearing about the death of the original Sub-Zero, another Sub-Zero, the younger brother named Kuai Liang snuck into Outworld alongside his trusty ally named Smoke.

Sachi: You see, Sub-Zero and Smoke were also in Outworld for another reason, to escape Sektor's plans of the Cyber Initiative.

Megumi: Yeah. When a bunch of ninjas wants to convert all their members into an army of killer cyborgs, not everyone would just give up their humanity for this. I mean, no amount of weaponary and armour is worth losing your humanity for.

Toomi: Sub-Zero and Smoke were eventually forced to split up and it is where Sub-Zero combats Cyrax, Ermac and Reptile before facing off Sub-Zero

Megumi: And long story short. He won. That is until Ketchup and Mustard came and took Sub-Zero away.

Sachi: You see. In the original timeline, Smoke was captured and then converted into a cyborg. But after receiving future visions from another Raiden in the Mortal Kombat Armagaddon timeline, Raiden rescued Smoke, thus saving the grey ninja from convertion. But at the same time, the timeline ends up altering to Sub-Zero going through the convertion, transforming into a Cyber Lin Kuei.

Toomi: And when Shao Kahn starts his invasion on Earthrealm, a now cyberly enhanced Sub-Zero confronts Kabal only to have his senses knocked back into him.

Sachi: Now gaining back his soul, Cyber Sub-Zero then went to hunt down Quan Chi, defeating Sektor, Goro, Ermac and Kintaro before having a brief reunion with his brother now going by the name Noob Saibot.

Toomi: It may sound stupid but it's actually a reverse spelling of the name Tobias Boon, the names of the creators Ed Boon and John Tobias.

Megumi: Anyways, Sub-Zero eventually defeated Nooby here and he banished him into the tornado of souls. But as the story progresses, he was eventually killed by a resurrected Sindel before being turned into a revenant by Quan Chi.

Sachi: Sub-Zero spent alot of time in the Neatherrealm, serving Quan Chi alongside many of the deceased fighters that is until Sonya's victory over him which in turn resurrected him, Jax and Scorpion.

Toomi: With the Cyber Lin Kuei gone, Sub-Zero eventually made peace with the rivaling Shirai Ryu clan and rebuilt a newer and better clan dedicated to protecting Earthrealm.

Megumi: And after Cassie Cage defeated Shinnok, the elder God's mother Kronika began shifting time, bringing the combatants from Mortal Kombat 9 into the current timeline, which in turn, caused Sektor and Cyrax to continue their Cyber Initiative on the new Lin Kuei.

Sachi: Both Scorpion and Sub-Zero then teamed up with each other, taking down Frost, Sektor, Cyrax, Noob Saibot and then helping both Outworld and Special Forces take down Kronika.

Toomi: Being something known as a Cryomancer, Sub-Zero is prominent in utilizing ice magic, capable of freezing his opponents or crafting weapons out of pure ice.

Megumi: He can also create ice clones of himself, teleporting by turning into ice, shattering himself and reforming in another location. His highest recorded range is somewhere around a hundred meters, when he teleported from the ground to reach a subsonic helicopter in the first chapter of MKX.

Sachi: And as he becomes a grandmaster, Sub-Zero has mastered many martial art styles, including Shotokan and Dragon Kung Fu. He has been seen using others such as Muay Thai and MMA fighting styles.

He can shatter diamond blocks and titanium figures with a single chop and once destroyed a building with a single punch after freezing it.

Sachi: Sub-Zero has also defeated the likes of Scorpion, Reptile, Cyrax, Sektor, Noob, Ermac, Kano. Fought and bested Cassie Cage, Jacqui Briggs, Takeda and Kung Jin all by himself and destroyed the Cyber Lin Kuei.

Megumi: He has even survived the heat from Scorpion, who can blast literal hellfire. Oh and did I mention he can score a perfect 10 scores in a shooting match?

Froze a large building and shattered it in one punch.

Defeated and heavily wounded Scorpion, a kombatant who could take down gods such as Raiden, a god who can create massive and destructive thunderstorms and Fujin, who stated that he can tear down mountains. 

Can easily rip a spine from the human body, which requires 1 million Newtons/102 tons of lifting force to accomplish.

Can shatter diamond blocks and titanium figures with a single chop like all kombatants.

As the Lin Kuei Grandmaster, he fought on par with Taven, who bested Raiden, a god capable of destroying an entire temple with a self destructive blast.

Sachi: Not only that but even when he was enhanced as a cyborg, Sub-Zero still lost against Kabal and was easily killed during his fight with Sindel, being one of the many fallen warriors to serve under the necromancer, Quan Chi.

In the cold frozen Tundra of China, Sub-Zero, the grandmaster of the Lin Kuei steps out of the temple, gazing at the sky.

Behind him, Liu Kang steps up from behind, greeting him.

Liu Kang: Sub-Zero.

Sub-Zero turns around, acknowledging him.

Sub-Zero: Liu Kang.

Liu Kang: Any news of Kitana and Cassie yet?

Sub-Zero: I'm afraid not. Scorpion and Sonya were nowhere to be seen ever since the convergence.

Liu Kang stare up at the sky, questioning out in concern.

Liu Kang: Do you think those enemies from the other world will attack us?

Sub-Zero: I do not know Liu Kang.

Gotham City

In the dark broody cathedral of the League of Assassins, Batman swoops down from the air, striking his foot into an unsuspecting ninja.

WHAM!!!

Plop!

The ninja drops onto the floor just as Batman is immediately joined by Green Lantern.

Green Lantern: That's the last of them.

Batman stares at the ninja's blue garments, pointing out.

Batman: Those ninjas do not look like the ones from the League of Assassins.

Green Lantern: Yeah. I fought a couple of cyborgs, a red and yellow one before I lost Babara and Diana.

Batman: Barry and Selina are nowhere to be seen as well. Seems like the convergence has been causing many of our friends and enemies to disappear as well.

Green Lantern grabs Batman by the arm, pulling him up through an opening as he questions.

Green Lantern: Hey Bruce, do you think those guys from the other world will attack us.

Batman: I do not know Hal.

However, right at as Green Lantern pulls Batman out of the opening, a large bright sphere opens up in the middle of the city.

Green Lantern: What the?!

Both Batman and Green Lantern looks at the portal, finding themselves staring at an icy cold Tundra within the portal.

At the otherside, both Sub-Zero and Liu Kang stares at the portal in horror, finding themselves staring at a dark bleek city within the portal.

Green Lantern: What the hell?!

Liu Kang: By the Gods!

Batman, Green Lantern, Sub-Zero and Liu Kang steps forward, staring at each other from across the portal.

Sub-Zero: Who are you? Are you enemy or ally?

Batman: I should ask you the same thing.

Batman replies with a hint of hostility.

Sub-Zero and Batman steps around the portal, facing each other just as Green Lantern and Liu Kang engages into battle.

Batman: Come quietly. You won't get hurt.

Sub-Zero: I offer one chance to surrender.

Batman: Consider yourself evicted!

Both Batman and Sub-Zero sprints towards each other, the two Ninjas exchanging blows amongst themselves.

WHAM!!! BAM!!! POW!!!

Batman swings his elbow up, striking Sub-Zero in the chin.

WHAM!!!

However, Sub-Zero retaliates by grabbing onto Batman, lifting him over his shoulder before slamming him backfirst onto the ground.

BAM!!!

Batman thrusts his legs out, striking Sub-Zero in the face.

WHAM!!!

Just as Sub-Zero staggers backwards, Batman rolls himself upwards, facing the Cryomancer.

Sub-Zero thrusts out his hand, launching a blast of ice right at Batman.

SHING!!!

Batman raises up his cape, shielding himself just as the projectile strikes onto the black cloth, instantly freezing it.

Sub-Zero races forward, jumping up into the air before thrusting his leg out.

WHAM!!!

SKREEEEE!!!

Batman skids across the floor, his body sent screeching from the blow.

Sub-Zero thrusts his body forward, sliding towards Batman before tripping him with a single foot.

WHAM!!!

Batman: ARGHHHHH!!!

Batman lets out a loud scream just as his entire body disappears into the portal.

SHOOM!!!

Sub-Zero stood back, folding his arms as he said.

Sub-Zero: The cold does not suit you.

However, right at that moment...

Twip!

Sub-Zero glances down, his eyes widens in horror just as a pair of wires wraps around his legs, causing him to drop onto the ground.

Plop!

Twip!

Sub-Zero looks forward as a strong force tugs onto the rope, pulling him into the portal.

SHOOM!!!

Sub-Zero: ARGHHHHH!!!

Sub-Zero lets out a loud scream just as he crashes backfirst onto the ground.

BAM!!!

Just as Sub-Zero pushes himself up, Batman raises up his hands, speaking out to him.

Batman: The smart choice is to surrender

Sub-Zero: A grandmaster has no fear.

Batman: I'll be the judge of that.

Batman thrusts his arms out, tossing several Batarangs at Sub-Zero.

Twip! Twip! Twip!

Sub-Zero opens up his hand, a long flow of ice descends down, forming into a long razor sharp blade.

SHING!!!

As the Batarangs closes in, Sub-Zero swings the ice blade across, slicing the projectiles with ease.

CLANG!!! CLANG!!! CLANG!!!

Batman jumps back, throwing several more Batarangs at Sub-Zero

Twip! Twip! Twip!

Sub-Zero thrusts his arms out, launching a blast of ice out of his palms.

SHING!!!

The ice immediately forms into a shape of a dome, shielding Sub-Zero from the oncoming projectiles.

CLANG!!! CLANG!!! CLANG!!!

Just as Sub-Zero lowers his ice shield, all of a sudden, he heard the sound of beeping from below.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

Sub-Zero lowers his gaze, only to feel a massive fiery explosion going off underneath him.

KABOOM!!!

Sub-Zero: ARGHHHHH!!!

Just as Sub-Zero is sent flying, right at that moment, a large winged creature swoops down from the air, slamming bodyfirst into him.

WHAM!!!

Sub-Zero: ARGHHHHHH!!!

Sub-Zero lets out a loud scream, feeling a sharp crack deep within his bones from the impact of the blow

CRACK!!!

Batman grabs onto Sub-Zero before throwing the Ninja down onto the ground.

BAM!!!

Just as Sub-Zero pushes himself up, Batman races forward, determined to finish his opponent off once and for all.

Batman: I'm ending this nightmare!

Batman closes in onto Sub-Zero, throwing a punch right onto the ninja. 

WHAM!!!

Just as the Caped Crusader threw his punch, suddenly, Sub-Zero disappears from sight.

As Batman widens his eyes in horror, just then, he felt his entire body crackening.

CRACK!!!

Batman could only stand, his eyes wide in shock as his entire body froze in place.

SHING!!!

Right at that moment...

Poof!

Sub-Zero reappears right behind the frozen sculpture of Batman, before crounching down, throwing one powerful uppercut.

WHAM!!!

Batman: ARGHHHHH!!!

Batman lets out a loud scream just as he was sent flying up, signalling Dan Forden to pop out from the edge of the screen, screaming out.

Dan: Toasty!

Thud!

Batman crashes backfirst onto the ground, groaning out in agony.

Batman: Ughhhh....

Sub-Zero: Is it cold or fear that makes you shiver?

Batman: I conquered fear long ago

Sub-Zero: I will shatter you.

Batman: Don't bet on it.

The Caped Crusader pulls out a couple of electricifying gloves, clashing them together, igniting the sparks on the gloves

BZSSSTTT!!!

Sub-Zero puts his hands up, narrowing his eyes just as Batman lunges forward.

The Lin Kuei steps back, shifting his head back and forth just as Batman throws a flurry of punches and kicks at him.

Batman throws a downwards punch, striking Sub-Zero square in the cheek.

BZZSST!!!

Sub-Zero retaliates by conjuring out an ice dagger, shoving it right into Batman's body.

Sub-Zero then slides across the floor, tripping over Batman.

WHAM!!!

Just as Batman is up into the air, Sub-Zero ducks underneath the Caped Crusader before thrusting out his hand, blasting a powerful blast of ice onto him.

SHING!!!

Right as Batman's entire body froze in place, Sub-Zero opens his palms, a long ice hammer forming within his hands.

SHING!!!

Sub-Zero then turns around, swinging the hammer right onto Batman, sending him flying with a single blow.

BAM!!!

As Batman is sent tumbling to the other side, Sub-Zero sinks down into the ground, disappearing from sight.

Sub-Zero then reappears right in front of Batman, thrusting out his hands, firing a barrage of ice shards right onto him.

SHOK!!! SHOK!!! SHOK!!!

As the ice shards strikes onto Batman, the Caped Crusader's entire body began freezing up in the air. 

SHING!!!

Sub-Zero then grabs onto the frozen sculpture of Batman, jumping up into the air before slamming it down onto the ground.

CRASH!!!

Sub-Zero slides back just as Batman stood up, stumbling in dizziness just as a loud voice announces out.

Announcer: Finish him!

Sub-Zero wraps his fingers around Batman's neck, gripping it tightly before forcefully ripping it out.

SHOK!!!

Batman's headless body staggers backwards before dropping flat onto the ground.

Plop!

Sub-Zero then lifts up Batman's decapitated spine, standing proudly in triumph just as a loud announcement plays out.

Announcer: Sub-Zero wins! Fatality!

Megumi: Damn. That was really...cold.

Toomi: Both Batman and Sub-Zero were certainly pushed to their very limits in this battle but Sub-Zero's superior strength won out in the end.

Megumi: Yeah. While Batman does have many gadgets he can possibly use to kill Sub-Zero, Sub-Zero's ninja trickery and ice powers really helps counter many of Batman's gear

Sachi: But don't underestimate Batman in this fight. Batman's strategic planning helps him to put Sub-Zero in all sorts of predicaments, from getting tangled by a grappling rope to having explosives exploding around him, Batman also does have many ways to kill him.

Toomi: But it all bows down to their wins and loss records against their enemies. While Batman certainly has held his own against the likes of Superman and Wonder Woman, needless to say, Batman's victories over these types of opponents are usually out of prep time.

Megumi: But Sub-Zero on the other hand has defeated the likes of Scorpion who is like really fast and extremely powerful without anything other than his own natural abilities. And as far as I know, Sub-Zero defeated Scorpion on his first try without any time to prepare at all.

Sachi: And while Batman certainly has bested enemies like Bane, Deathstroke or even the Electrocutioner without prep time, who's to say that Sub-Zero hasn't faced anyone like them.

Toomi: And Sub-Zero's fatality are also the ultimate game changer. Since Batman has no healing factors or regenerative ability, just performing one of his well known fatalities is all it takes for Sub-Zero to win this fight.

Megumi: Looks like Batman's chances of winning are Absolutely Sub-Zero!

Sachi: The winner is Sub-Zero

Sub-Zero: For my brother!
