I woke up the next morning, Mark wasn't there. I went walking around looking for him, no clue where he was. I spotted him outside of a house, he was talking to another villager. I slowly approached, listening to the conversation. "So who's the new girl you were with yesterday? She your new girlfriend?" The villager asked, he let out a laugh. "She is pretty cool, but I think I'd wait on that whole dating thing." His black hair popped out, the eye patch on his eyes keeping some of it down. "How about you stop by some time if you ask her on a date and I'll do your hair. We'll color it and it'll all be on me!" I was pretty much hiding around the corner of the building, "I'm a blacksmith, I don't need my hair colored!" The other villager laughed, "just stop by if you do." I peaked around the corner, the stranger had walked away, Mark getting back to work. He was tanned really well, especially working out in the sun all day. I popped out from around the corner and stood right behind him. "Hey Mark!" I spoke loudly but happily. He jolted, the  relaxed when he saw it was me. "Dont scare me like that y/n," He laughed. He looked back at his work bench and kept working. "What are you working on?" He looked over at me, "it's just a little something I have to do because I'm the only blacksmith here." I tilted me head, "and that is?" He huffed, "right now, I have to work on the railings for the miners. We have a mine cart system we use and I have to build them." I just nodded, he then looked at me. "Why don't you try getting a job? So you won't have to worry about me throughout the day." I looked down, he sighed. "I don't mind you being here, it's just stressful that I'm the only blacksmith in the village." I looked at him, "I can help you!" He smiled, "how about tonight, we stay up and I'll teach you the job, we can work together and get this stuff done faster!" He went back to work as I wondered around town, getting to know the other workers. "Hey Y/n!" It was Frank from yesterday. "Hey Frank!" He smiled and waved me over, he had three little kids running around the fenced in field. "How are you doing, y/n?" I smiled, "I'm doing okay, just trying to take all of this in." He looked out at the sheep and cows. "I let my kids play with the animals today, they seem to love it." The little kids laughed and played, a woman came out in a dress, with a green robe. She looked almost like the guy who Mark said was a nitwit. When she gathered the children and walked away, Frank spoke up. "I know what you're thinking, yes, she's a nitwit. She barely takes care of the children, she sleeps until the middle of the day and does not work." I was shocked by what he was saying, "but she's my wife, I couldn't do it without her." I smiled at him, "that's good." He chuckled, "I'll see you at the town meeting, have a good day." He walked into the field, I walked away to go sit on the sand by the water. A passerby approached me, "you're the new one right?" I looked up at him, I nodded. "My name is Tom, I'm a fisherman." I smiled, he had a pole in his left hand, a bucket full of fish on the right. "Don't forget, the meeting is here soon, I will see you there!" I waved and got up, heading back to Marks work place.

After I got there, he was cleaning up and getting ready to leave. "Just in time!" He spoke with a smile, he started walking towards the middle of town. "You ready for the town meeting?" I nodded and we walked to it.

When we got to the meeting, they were discussing the living conditions. "Alright, so we have a lot more room thanks to the houses built. We are going to ask everyone on who wants to have kids and who doesn't, we will conduct our census in the morning! And on that note, if you are not having a child, you must have an occupation, also, you must have a proper residence." I looked at Mark who looked back at me. "I'm gonna get a bed built for you, you're making a permanent residence with me." I smiled, "thanks Mark."
