Kyle's POV

"Shots! Shots! Shots!" I cheered with everybody else as we needed ourselves into the kitchen. It was starting to get fairly late and that meant everyone was already drunk, which usually meant that's when the party actually started.

"WHOOOO!"

Everybody slammed back a shot of whatever liquor they could find. I greeted and chatted with lots of people including Token, Jimmy and even said hello to Pip, too drunk to realize who it was. When Jimmy drank, his arms didn't work as well so he shally ended up chilling on a couch or chair somewhere. His jokes got even worse too but when you're wasted it didn't even matter you just laughed anyways.

Eventually I drank so much I couldn't even make a coherent thought, let alone say one out loud. As I stumbled and teetered through the crowds I would trip and occasionally grab onto someone or an object to steady myself.

My first attempt to sit on the couch was a total miss and I ended up slamming down on the floor in front.

"Owech,"

I said it but didn't really register anything in my brain. Just reflex I guess. I took another swig out of the beer can and chucked the empty thing across the floor.

I never planned on getting this drunk. This is by far the most I've drank before and I was not excited to see the hangover results tomorrow. I let my head tip forward a bit and slouched down to be more comfortable. I was just barely conscious even though it was hardly 12pm and the party would be for another few hours at least.

I suppose I fell asleep because the next thing I remember, Kenny and Craig are dragging me to the outside door by my feet. I was slightly more able to think and speak now, though not by a huge margin.

"Whoa what's up dudes? Where ya dragging me to this time?"

They both let of my my legs immediately and reached forward to lend me a hand. I gratefully took both and hoisted myself up, wobbling only a little bit.

Kenny stood right by me in case I fell or passed out but I waved him away saying I was fine now.

"We thought you had like died or something! You were slouched really weirdly and not breathing much but I guess you're alive." Kenny shrugged. "We checked your pulse and it was still going so we thought you just might have needed fresh air. You were only out for like an hour at tops."

Craig had just nodded and drifted away halfway through the explanation and as always with his mostly expressionless face. Whatta great guy. Someone probably could have died and his face would stay the same.

"Well thanks. I really appreciate it, now, I'm not that woozy right now so go enjoy tonight's party."

I gave what I hoped was a smile but most likely looked like a grimace while I patted his shoulder. We botb told each other,

"Party hardy!"

Before Kenny headed away, back to the other rooms. I chose to go outside and was hoping it would at the very least lessen the headache I was already getting. I sighed in relief as I shut the door behind me and the music went much quieter. I sat down, only for moments before I heard,

"Ay yo, Kyle come on over here. I've been waiting ages!"

I whipped my head to the side and saw Stan beckoning me by waving his hand. I started grinning like an idiot as I pushed off the ground and dusted off my pants. Stan was sitting in one of those wooden lawn chairs with the leg extensions and he had a beer in the cup holder.

He was lying out along the whole thing, taking up all the space as he chattered away at me but my ability to understand was out the window.

Instead of standing there, which was getting somewhat difficult since I was starting to get tired and that coupled with all the alcohol in my system made the effects that much stronger. Without any thought I shuffled over to the chair and sat on the arm.

I slipped down in right beside Stan in the chair which was a pretty tight squeeze but he shifted over slightly to make more room. He tilted his head toward me and whispered,

"Dude are you sure you should be sitting here like that?"

I shrugged.

"Why not? I'm tired as shit but I don't think we're going to make it back anywhere anytime soon."

"Yeah probably not." I yawned and put my head on his shoulder. Within seconds the warmth radiating off him and the steady rhythm of his breathing lulled me to sleep.

Oh, if only I had known the consequences.
