Kyle POV

"WHAT THE FUCK! WHY WOULD I DO THAT?" I yelled for no reason other then to be loud and noisy. My parents and Ike had gone to watch a movie but I stayed since I told Stan I was coming to watch the game. I honestly really liked to yell, not at people but just for fun. It wasn't always in anger either.

Of course I was still felt bad for what I said earlier, knowing it caused Stan quite a lot of negative feelings. I sighed and continued wandering the house, picking up this and that as I walked around. The game started at 6 tonight but I wanted to go watch at least some of the warm up as well. I felt guilty I wasn't going to be able to play tonight but was fairly confident Kenny, our other point guard, would do fine.

I'd also heard Cartman was going to be there although I didn't think he'd stay long. He didn't really like sports but he did like to sit there and talk about how he could have done this and that better. It was pretty annoying and of course the fight we had wouldn't help much.

I started having doubts about whether I should go or not but decided that if Cartman tried to give me any shit that there was enough people around t keep it from going too far. I ran everything through my head as I started walking down to the school again. I adjusted my hat and tucked a chunk of hair back under when it fell out.

As I arrived I had to push through quite a few people before I reached the gym doors. It was quite loud inside as I walked in but I knew when the game actually started it would only get louder. Walking in on a game relaxed was extremely strange since I was usually playing and anxious.

Stan looked over at me and grinned as he watched me walk in and settle down right behind South Park's team bench. Some teammates waved and smiled at me as they came over to discuss game plans. Even the coach, usually detached and not really caring about the players, told me that the team was missing out.

Stan kept looking at me from the corner of his eye but I mouthed "Pay attention!" He grinned a little as I scrunched my eyebrows together furiously and shook his head slightly before taking my advice and having nearly his full attention to the coach.

I was glad to not have seen Cartman yet, and was hoping he wouldn't show up.

I watched Sta- the game intently. Damn was he ever playing good today. I lost track of time and occasionally cheered for our team. When the game was over it ended up being a blowout win for us because apparently some of the other teams players were injured. While the teams were shaking hands I got up and stretched out my legs, which ached from the uncomfortable bleacher seats. It suddenly struck me how it wasn't as noisy as it usually is.

As I turned to leave and meet Stan outside the doors I caught a flash of red out the corner of my eye. I whipped my head up and saw Cartman sitting a few rows above me with some kids from the class.

I hadn't even noticed when he came in but I quickly rushed out of the gym not daring to look again. I waited nervously just outside the gym doors for Stan to come back from getting changed, aware that I was pretty much alone since most people left the game early.

Eventually Stan walked up and I was instantly relieved. He was quite happy and I was sure it was for more reasons than the fact they won the game.

I rolled my eyes as I pushed off the wall.

"How many points did you get?"

"26! It was such a good game hey? Would have been better if you were playing."

He nudged me as we went through the doors and started walking to his house, which we had previously agreed on. I shook my head and grinned.

"Sure."

I let him continue talking about the game and threw in comments here and there on what he did good and things he could improve. I started getting increasingly worried as we got near his house but tried my best to not let it show in case he took it the wrong way.

At his house he gave his family a brief summary of the game and I nodded enthusiastically along. His family had always liked me so they didn't mind when I asked to stay for a while.

After we were in his room he sat on the bed and said, "Well?"

"Well what?" I asked in the most even voice I could get, without sounding angry or worried.

"Didn't you promise me something if I did good in the game?"

Goddamnit I really shouldn't have done that. Fuck!

"Yeah I guess."

I had been looking away but when I glanced up, he was looking at me. He had a goofy smile on his face as he said,

"You know, it's all good if you don't actually want to follow through with that."

I instantly stared at him in shock.

"Really? You'd be fine with that? I wouldn't have to think it's terrible that I felt too awkward?"

"Nah man I ain't gonna make you do anything you don't 100% want to do."

I stepped across the room and sat with him in the bed, leaning my head against his shoulder. He put his arm around my neck as I whispered,

"Thank you."

He kissed my cheek and replied,

"No problem. Wanna play something?"

I sure was glad to have someone as great as Stan.
