I flew back home, needing to grab some gear for the dragon ball tournament. I fumbled for the keys and hopped off of Lake.
"Good job, boy! go around back, I think the stables are open." I rubbed Lakes ears and fed him a piece of chocolate from the saddle bag Sean had given me.
The house smelled of pesto, salt, and pasta. Dad was cooking? He never cooked.
"I'm home?" I questionably called, walking slowly into the kitchen.
"Hey, I wanted to make you something special for your birthday!" My dad was standing by the stove, looking like he had no idea what he was doing. He had the apron on backwards and was cooking frozen pasta that was still in the plastic bag. I laughed and dropped my things on the kitchen table.

"Do you need some help?
"Nah, It will probably burn, so I got a microwaveable pizza in case. Oh, and your present is outside." He said, furrowing his brow at the stove.

"I'm never cooking again." He muttered. I grinned and walked out to the back porch. A box with holes in to the top and the gold wrapping paper town sat on the ground. A small dragon around the size of a puppy whined from inside.
"Thank you so much Dad! She's awesome!" I gleefully called as I ripped off the rest of the wrapping paper.

"I'm glad you like her! The nursery said she's about 9 and will stay that size for a while. Her name is Casidina, but you can change it if you like." He said as I picked her up from the box and carried inside. Her green eyes matched her
"I'll call her Case."

My dad said he would watch Case for me so I took Lake to the game.
"Come on guys, let's warm up!" Our coach called. He pulled me aside to ask me a question.
"Ace, were having a secret scouting mission in a week from today. Long trip. Ask your father about it. It's super important." He whispered. He was a guardian too. I furrowed my brow. Another war thing? This was getting stressful.

"Gotcha. Let's win this!" I yelled, shaking my head to clear my thoughts.mMy team mates pumped their fists in the air and we took off.

After a few minuets of warm up, we started. I flew to my power forward position and focused on the task at hand. After an hour of joking with my friends and playing and flying, I almost forgot about this stupid war. We tied 74-74, but it was a great game.

I dropped Asher off at her friend house and rushed home to see Case. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with more bad news. I mean, this was more annoying than bad.
"Honey, we have the international treaty dinner at Uerok island tonight. You have to wear a dress." My dad said, preparing for me to freak.
"Ughhhh." I sighed. I was about to argue, but then I saw Dad's stressed and tiered face and greying hair.
I forced a smile.

"Only for you, Dad."
