Steve didn't understand why he was afraid and he wasn't terrified of Herobrine back then he was scared but not terrified but it just went away after he figured out what Herobrine was doing but what terrified Steve the most was his own death and how it happened though Steve has a fear of being not good enough or even abandonment and it scares Steve to think that James and Herobrine might drift away from him and this fear of his was starting to make him feel clingy and he tries not to be because he didn't want to annoy his brother and boyfriend "Stevie... I don't care that you're clingy... I understand why you are clingy..." Herobrine says next to Steve and had joined Steve in his dreams to see what he was thinking or dreaming about but it startles Steve a lot "Herobrine don't do that!" Steve whines and Herobrine just chuckles "Stevie me and James won't leave you... alright...?" Herobrine says placing a hand on Steve's cheek which Steve leans into "a-alright..." Steve says looking away with tears in his eyes but Herobrine didn't hesitate to kiss Steve there in his dreams "I would say we should have some fun but I don't want you too worked up..." Herobrine says when he pulls away from the kiss and then nuzzles Steve "H-Herobrine... I don't think I should be alone for a while..." Steve says shaking and Herobrine hugs Steve "Stevie I know you don't want to be alone... but I can't take you in the nether..." Herobrine replies and Steve shakes his head and buries his face into Herobrine's chest and clings "Stevie..." Herobrine started to say but didn't know what to even say but he knew he had to stay with Steve until he calms down which was going to be difficult because Steve's fears and worries were too much for Steve to deal with and they are strong emotions but when Steve gave him the scared and saddening gaze he knew Steve needed him and James "I love you Stevie..." Herobrine says after a few moments "I-I love you too Herobrine..." Steve replies
Soon after and Herobrine kisses Steve again who has slowly stopped crying and Herobrine was glad "Stevie when we wake up I'm gonna cuddle you... and I ain't letting go..." Herobrine says and it causes Steve to blush but their sweet moment was interrupted by a sudden explosion of sorts near the lake and it woke Steve up and it caused Herobrine to look around after being in Steve's mind "w-what was that?!" Steve said in panic "I don't know and I don't think you should check it out..." Herobrine says and looks outside the window to the direction of the lake "shit... looks like a raid started... and James and Aiden have their hands full..." Herobrine says and growls when he says Aidens name "no-no need to intervene...?" Steve askes and Herobrine shook his head "no... those two can handle it..." Herobrine replies and Steve nods "let's get some cuddles in while we can... alright...?" Herobrine askes and Steve nods and cuddles into Herobrine.
