"Come on, we don't have much time to waste. They are doing searches right now, thank Pheonix that they we live- used to- used to live on the outskirts." I heard the choke in her voice. It would be in mine, if I had spoken too. I moved quicker, throwing all of the things I would need into my bag. I finished quickly and turned to my love. She threw an outfit at me, and I put it on, replacing the completely impractical clothes I had been wearing.

We walked to the back door. She hesitated. I knew exactly why. I wanted to stay. I had spent almost half of our lives in this house, but she had lived in it since she was a baby. It was hard to say goodbye.

I glanced at her. Her eyes were glistening. Gently, I put my arms around her. She crumpled into my arms like a very detailed tower of jello. I held her in my arms for a few long seconds, which felt too short a time, though I would hold onto her for days if I could. Loud knocking erupted at the door. We exited the small door on the back of our house. Before we left we glanced around, checking for threats.

Seeing none, we went to the weak part of the wall. I helped up Jeya up and waited for her to get high enough on the wall so she could watch for threats while I climbed. She was at on of the incrimants and she turned and nodded to me to start the climb.

I had just left solid ground before Jeya whistled, our alarm noise. I jumped down and grabbed the knife from my bag before facing who I expected to be guards. It was two men. Well, I assumed they were men, but considering the light was just the moon swaying in the night sky, it was just as likely if I flipped a coin. The slightly shorter one, though there wasonly about two inches of height difference them, stood in front of the other in a protective stance upon seeing my blade.

He scoffed, and glanced towards Jeya. He said, very rudely, "Well, considering what the idiot guards are searching for and that you both are women escaping the kingdom, I'd assume you have the same problem as us. You two are together, right? So are we, so help us and nobody will end up killed."

I glanced up at Jeya, her black locks still. She nodded, and I moved to help the two up. They accepted my help and climbed up, me right behind them. We continued up the wall in a pattern. Every level I stayed behind as a lookout while the others climbed, and once they got up a level I followed suit.

At the top of the large wall, two guards approached.

"Halt!... You're running from the searches right?" A guard asked, their voice quiet after telling us to stop.

The short guy traveling with us rolled his eyes, barely noticeable in the low light, and whisper-yelled at the guards, his voice heavy with sarcasm "No, no of course not! We murdered exactly 87 people in a ritual to The Pheonix, where did you get the idea that we were caught being gay!"

"Just go already! We told the other guards we could patrol this section alone. They might get suspicious if they see 6 people over here or if we don't check in at the right times." The guard said, and gently pushed us so we were out of sight to any other guards.

Once we got down the wall, I lead the others to a small cave, going too quick to chat.

We sat against the walls of the cave.

"Sooooooooo... Lets do introductions. I'm Thelso, this short guy-" The taller of the two men said, earning an elbow to the chest from his, I assume, partner.

After elbowing Thelso, the shorter guy spoke as well, "I'm Aroko. The more handsome one of the two of us, and you two are...?"

"My name is Jeya, and this tree is Lillian. Don't expect her to speak to you she never even talks to me and we are traveling to Jopaz to get married." Jeya laughed. I felt myself blush and hid my face in her shoulder to hide it. She put her hand into mine, and when I pulled away from her she decided to lay right in my lap and fall asleep.

I knew she was awake, but let her fall asleep. Me, Aroko, and Thelso followed suit. Exaustion seemed to wait until I blinked and missed it to grab ahold of me.
