    Fog had rolled in from the mountains and filled the deserted streets. Warm amber light spilled out from lit windows and open doorways. Dusky blue and purple colored the sky as the sun sank low behind the distant mountains. The last remnants of red and orange fading into the darkening sky. Overhead the stars slowly filled the sky and the sliver of moon hung low in the sky. Dust had settled on the dirt road as the last travelers had long since hunkered down for the night. In the distance, a lone wolf howled and a pack answered.
