Chapter 1: The Ordinary Life

Adrien Axel Alexander woke to the sound of his alarm blaring insistently. Groggily, he slapped the snooze button and sat up, rubbing his eyes. The room was dimly lit by the early morning sun filtering through the blinds. Adrien's room was a reflection of his interests—filled with posters of mythical creatures and adventure stories, yet his life was far from extraordinary.

At seventeen, Adrien was a typical high school student. He lived in a small town with his mother and younger sister. His dyslexia had always been a challenge, making schoolwork difficult and often frustrating. While he had a keen interest in mythology and ancient stories, reading was a struggle. Despite this, he had managed to maintain decent grades with the help of his teachers and the support of his family.

As Adrien got out of bed and shuffled toward the bathroom, he glanced at his desk cluttered with textbooks and notes. His interest in mythology often led him to explore old legends and tales, but it was more of a hobby than a serious pursuit. The dream he had last night was already slipping from his mind, a fleeting memory that seemed insignificant compared to the pressures of daily life.

His morning routine was a series of familiar motions—shower, breakfast, and getting ready for school. As he ate his cereal, Adrien's mother bustled around the kitchen, preparing her own breakfast and chatting about the day ahead.

"Morning, Adrien," she said cheerfully. "Any plans for today?"

"Not really," Adrien replied, yawning. "Just the usual school stuff. I might hang out with some friends later."

His mother nodded, though she could sense that something was on his mind. "You seem a bit off. Everything okay?"

"Yeah, just a bit tired," Adrien answered, not wanting to delve into his vague feelings or the dream he barely remembered.

The school day passed in its usual rhythm. Adrien attended classes, struggled through assignments, and managed to stay focused with the help of his friends. Despite the occasional frustration with his dyslexia, he found solace in his friendships and the normalcy of his life. He wasn't one to dwell on dreams or prophecies; his daily concerns were more about grades and social life.

After school, Adrien met up with his friends at their usual hangout spot—a small café near the park. They chatted about their day, their plans for the weekend, and the latest news. Adrien enjoyed the camaraderie and the chance to unwind, momentarily forgetting about the mundane aspects of life.

As the sun began to set, Adrien and his friends walked through the park, discussing their favorite topics and laughing over shared jokes. The park was a peaceful escape from the usual hustle, with its sprawling lawns and tranquil atmosphere. It was a place where Adrien felt at ease, and the stresses of school seemed to melt away.

That evening, as Adrien headed home, he glanced up at the sky, noting the fading light and the emerging stars. It was a typical evening, and nothing felt particularly out of the ordinary. He had almost forgotten the dream he'd had the previous night, and the golden thread from his dream was nothing more than a distant memory.

Back at home, Adrien settled into his routine. He finished his homework, watched some television, and eventually went to bed. The dream was a fleeting thought, and he didn't give it much attention. His life continued as usual, marked by the everyday experiences and challenges that came with being a teenager.

The next morning arrived with the same routine. Adrien's life was predictable and straightforward, and he embraced the familiarity of it. He didn't know that his world was about to change dramatically, nor did he realize that his ordinary existence was on the brink of an extraordinary transformation.
