"Valt."

"Valt!"

"VALT!"

"Huh!?" I wake up to the sound of someone calling my name. It turns out it was Shu.

"Are you okay? You were crying in your sleep." Shu asked worried. "Yeah I'm fine, it was nothing really" I assured him. "Are you sure?" he asked again. "Yeah I'm fine Shu." I try smiling to let him know I'm okay. Even though I know I'm lying. I know that my smile is fake but I learned how to pretend.

"Well okay, come down for breakfast in 10 minutes." and with that he left. "Okay!"

I had that nightmare again. Ever since that day I've been having the same nightmare over and over again. I've also been terrified of fires. Even the mention of "it"gets me a panic attack. I always think it was my fault that it happened. After all I'm the only one who survived. That makes sense right?

No one knows about what happened not even my best friend Shu. I always switch to the "happy" me when I'm around my friends but when I'm alone I cry and sing a lullaby my mom sung for me.

(Song above. If it doesn't play let me know and I'll try and fix it. Just pretend it's Valt singing it. Yeah it doesn't have words but I'll add some lyrics to the story.)

I sing it every time I'm alone or when I'm sad, which is pretty much all the time. I don't know why but it helps me relax and forget my sadness for a bit. As long as I have this, I can keep strong.

"Valt you coming down? It's been over ten minutes!"I heard Shu yell from downstairs. "Yeah I'm coming!" I yell back. I finish putting on my clothes and brushing my teeth, then I grab my headband and ran down stairs.

I forgot to mention that I had a sleepover at Shu's house, that's why I'm here. "Valt what took you?" Shu asked while putting my plate on the table. "Oh I was busy changing." I lied, well it's true but I was mostly was singing the lullaby.

I sat down and started to eat. "So what do you want to do?" Shu asked. "Well I was thinking of doing training with the beyclub." I answer. I love the beyclub but even if they are with me I can't smile my true smile. "Okay we'll get them after we eat." He said then resumed eating.

~After eating~

I threw my plate away and went to go put on my shoes. "I'll meet you there Valt. I have something to take care of." Shu said. "Okay see ya!" I waved goodbye then left. "Bye!" I hear Shu yell. I start to head out towards the park while having flashbacks about my family.

~Flashback~

"Valt where are you?" I hear my mom say. We're playing Hide and Seek! So far I'm winning, I'm the best hider ever! "Okay Valt I give up, you can come out now." I hear mom say. "I'm right here!" I come out of my hiding spot, it was behind the couch. "Ah no I couldn't find you again! You really are the best hider Valt!" Mom said while giving me a hug. " Haha I love you mommy!" I say.

"I love you too."

~End Flashback~

I started to tear up a bit. I miss my mom so much! I wish she was still here along with Dad, Toko, and Nika. The twins were so young probably about two years old when "it"happened. I kept thinking about my family while running.

"HEY KID WATCH OUT!!"

"Huh?"
