In LOTR, you experience the constant struggle of good vs evil, as well as the role of mercy and pity (as seen with Frodo and Gollum) as you learn the stories of Frodo Baggins, Gandalf the Gray, and other wonderful creatures. It is hard to explain the entire story of LOTR since it is long and complex, but I will try my best to give a short summary. :D

It starts off with Frodo and Bilbo Baggins. Bilbo is the bearer of a powerful ring that corrupts the minds and behaviors of men, and now Frodo is the one who has to carry the ring to Mount Doom, the only place where the ring can be destroyed. However, Frodo's journey is not easy, since there are other evil powers seeking out the ring that Frodo wishes to destroy. Accompanied by friends such as Samwise Gamgee, Frodo journeys to Mount Doom to destroy the ring. 

Okay yeah, my explanation kinda sucks, but I tried haha. :)

As for the plot and overall story for LOTR, I absolutely loved it. It combines action with drama (I say drama because like... just look at Frodo's facial expressions) and it provides the viewer with an overall interesting and kinda random story. As I mentioned before, Frodo is different from other main characters in other series because he is not perfect. He has no special powers, he isn't "the chosen one", and he certainly isn't what you would consider "trained." He was just an unfortunate hobbit who just happened to inherit a ring, bringing him into a whole world of danger. He didn't want this journey... but he still completed it.

Second, the story of LOTR is unique in the sense that it includes a place called Middle Earth. But I will explain that more in future chapters.

Overall, the story is great. There are a couple confusing elements such as several characters and backstories and such, but that's the same in just about any other series. :D
