A voice spoke from behind her, but she couldn't move, so instead she started to cry. "Nobody is safe from the monsters inside their head." It said once more, Rose felt a cold grip form around her neck, fear boiled her blood and gave her the ability to run. So that she did, she ran, and ran, through the thick foliage and darkness and fog. Until she found an old tree stump, it was hallow, so she climbed in and hid. A white figure dashed in front of the opening to the stump, back and forth it dashed, until it stopped in front of it. "Hello? Miss Alice? You don't want to be late for tea. Do you?" It asked, and Rose looked out to see the white rabbit. A sigh of relief escaped her mouth as she crawled out of her hiding spot, "Of course I don't want to miss tea. But why do you call me Alice?" Rose asked and the white rabbit looked her up and down. "You are Alice. That's why. But don't worry, your not the only Alice here! MadHatter wants to see you." The white rabbit dashed away, and Rose followed after.
A clearing came to view, with a table and people and one special person, the MadHatter. He looked different too, so Rose stayed in the shadows, his blood covered figure set off all of Rose's red flags. "Oh Alice! I loved you. But you had to leave, at least that's what you said. You could have stayed. Now I have all the Alice's I could want! I lure, I chase, I kill, I keep! Their souls are prisoners in this Wonderland." He chuckled and went over to a few chairs with people at them, they all looked like girls, and they all looked the same. When MadHatter turned the chairs around, Rose nearly gagged at what she saw. Four girls, her age, bloody and beaten, two more nearby were dead. They all had blond hair tied back with blue ribbon, and they all wore a blue dress like Rose's. One of the dead girls had stab marks in her chest, and the other had a small hole in her forehead, but they were just as bloody as any of the living girls. Rose looked under the table, a small girl was hiding, she was crying and scared and shivering. MadHatter started bouncing around the table, "♪Alice come out. Don't pout. Don't make me shout - Alice come out. Where are youu?♪" He started singing and singing, louder and louder until that girl under the table came out. MadHatter stomped over to her, he held her by the wrist with one hand, and using the other he reached into his coat. He pulled out a knife, silver and sharp, he traced an 'M' and an 'H' in her skin with the knife point. The girl cried and cried, and blood covered her arm when MadHatter was done. Rose swallowed back the vomit in her throat, and slowly she backed away. But a twig snapped under her foot, MadHatter's attention snapped in her direction, he let the other girl go and she just layed limp on the ground. MadHatter slowly walked towards Rose, though he couldn't see her, due to all the fog, but Rose knew she had to hide. Rose found a tall tree will lots of branches, she quickly and quietly climbed up the tree, branch by branch until she was at least 10 feet off the ground and hidden in dense leaves.
MadHatter stood at the bottom of the tree, he looked around, trying to see anything through the fog. Another twig snapped, and MadHatter spun around to the sound, but it was just the white rabbit who came. He looked different than before, he had long back legs, and sharp fangs that drooled in his mouth. His vest was stained red with dried blood, so was his fur, and he had large beastly eyes that scanned the forest. MadHatter looked different from how Rose's mom explained, this MadHatter had dark purple clothes stained with countless amounts of blood. His hat held a number of needles and razor edged cards, his coat held knives and guns and more cards. His hair was black and his eyes were glazed with insanity, white rabbit went over to the MadHatter and they started talking.
Rose watched and listened.
"So. Have you brought Alice?"
"Of course MadHatter. It's her."
"Finally! I will get my Alice back. Good job white rabbit. But where is she?"
"That's the problem. I lost her."
"RABBIT! I WILL MAKE A STEW OUT OF YOU AND BREAD WITH YOUR EARS! FIND HER!"
Rose shrank in her hiding spot, she watched as the rabbit walked away with it's long legs, and she watched the MadHatter go back to his tea party with the other Alices.
