chapter two!

season 1, episode 2 - live a little!

SCHOOL HAD ENDED AND Aurora decided to go to the local cafe. "Hey, Haley." she greeted as she walked up to the register. "Aurora! Hi! What can I get you?"

"A hot chocolate and a cookie, please."

"Coming right up." As Aurora waited for her order, she was on her phone, texting Ned.  "I guess we meet again, sleeping beauty."  The curly haired girl knitted her eyebrows together, confused who was talking to her.  Looking up from her phone, she noticed Cole.  "Are you stalking me or something?"

"My brother works here, princess.  Why would I be stalking you?"

"I just found it weird that you remembered me, that's all." Cole took the seat across from her, taking out an AP Chemistry workbook. "Do you know how to solve this?" the blonde asked her, sliding his book towards her. "Did you really sit here just for me to help you..."

"Cole."

"Do you really expect me to help you, Cole?"

Cole sighed, "Look, it's just one question.  After this, I won't ask you for anything.  Deal?"

"Deal."  Aurora looked at the problem, nodding her head.  "You forgot to multiply the gas constant by the number of moles and temperature.  Also temperature is supposed to be in Kelvins, not Celsius." She handed Cole his book, their hands accidentally touching. "Sorry." she stated, quickly removing her hand from his. "Thanks for your help, sleeping beauty."

"Can you just call me Aurora? I get the nickname but you don't have to keep calling me that."

"And what are you going to do if I don't?"

"You spoke too soon, seaweed brain. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to get my food. I'll be right back." Cole's jaw dropped, shocked at the sudden nickname for him. Grabbing her hot chocolate and a cookie, she sat back down at the table.  "You've read Percy Jackson?" Cole asked her.  "Of course I have, it's a middle school classic.    Plus, I should be the one asking you that.  I didn't think that you'd know about that."

"Why? Because I'm the Cole Walter? A former quarterback, I'm dating a cheerleader, and failing my classes? Way to put a label on it."

"I am not labeling you.  But if you need help in your classes, I can give you some notes if you want."

"I'll think about it.  But thank you, sleeping beauty."

"No problem, seaweed brain."  After Aurora finished her food, the two continued to talk.  "Oh man." Aurora stated.  "What?"

"My mom just text me.  She wants me to pick up some stuff from the supermarket.  I should probably get going.  But it was nice talking to you..."

"You really need to start remembering my name, sleeping beauty.  It's Cole."

"Right, Cole! So I'll see you around?"

"See you around.  It was nice talking to you too, Aurora."

"See? Is it that hard to say my name?"

"I don't know.  I think I like saying 'sleeping beauty' more.  It has a nice ring to it."

"I think 'seaweed brain' has a nice ring to your name.  Don't you think so?"

"Absolutely not.  I'm not as clueless as Percy."

"I'll have to see about that.  But bye, Cole."

"Bye, Aurora."  As she left the cafe and got into her car, she learned something that day.

Cole Walters wasn't like what the rumors at school were saying about him.
