Dax gaped. An icy shiver raced through him, and he knew her words were true.

"Wait a second," Spook snarled. Dax jumped. He'd forgotten the other COLAs were there. "Whe-" The girl's eyes flickered towards him, and briefly glowed the same deep, flickering violet as the dragon's had. Lightning arced down from the storm-filled sky and struck Spook. He jerked once, and collapsed, smoking slightly.

Everyone looked from Spook to the girl. Dax gaped, wondering how his- his sister, if she really was his sister, could be so- so inhuman.

"Oh, don't look at me like that!" She growled crossly. "Spook'll be fine. He'll just wake up in a couple of minutes. A bit dizzy, but unharmed."
Lisa frowned, as if she didn't believe the mysterious figure. "Stun Lightning," the girl explained. Gideon gave her a funny look. "Don't ask," she sighed. Jennifer walked over to Spook and nudged him with her foot. Spook groaned. And sat up. Everyone sighed in relief.

"He was lucky," the strange girl's voice murmured from beside Dax. He started. Her stealth was uncanny. "With the shocks he had last year, any higher grade might've caused a coma- or worse..."

"The shocks he had?!?" Exclaimed Lisa. "I almost drowned, we still haven't found Mia, Dax flew about a million air miles in a couple of months and Alex nearly fell off an old ski-lift! Not to mention Catherine..."

"Yes, I know. But you don't know everything that happened to Spook,"

"Wait," Gideon frowned. " How do you know all that stuff? You weren't here when it happened!"

"Oh I was, Gideon. I watched it happen, knowing that nothing could stop it... It was torture to stand by and let you get on with it, even if I knew it would turn out alright in the end..."
She sighed. "I couldn't help interfering, even in small ways. But come on, let's go inside Fenton Lodge. I'll tell you the rest inside."
