Another time skip because I'm lazy and don't feel like writing a month of literally nothing happening.

It was almost Thanksgiving now. Thorn was out of the hospital, finally feeling better and healed. Thorn also, to Sunny's surprise, loved Holler and was stoked when she heard her daughter now had a pet. Her mom also was still acting like she had a secret she was keeping, but it slipped Sunny's mind most days and she didn't remember to ask her mom about why she was acting weird.

A couple of days before the holiday, though, Thorn has called Sunny for a 'family meeting', but it was only her and her mom, so it wasn't really a family meeting.

Sunny gulped and walked to where her mom was, and sat down in front of her.

Thorn inhaled sharply. "Uh... So, Sunny, I've been keeping this secret for quite a while now, and um..." she paused. "I've invited a guest for Thanksgiving this year."

"Who?" Sunny asked cautiously.

Thorn closed her eyes tightly. "I-it's the science teacher at your school, Mr. Smolder."

It immediately clicked in Sunny's head. "WHAT?" She shouted. "You're dating someone!"

"You could say that. But not exactly." Thorn replied.

Sunny folded her arms in front of her. "You don't just invite random boys to a holiday, sat you're keeping a secret, and not date them."

"Well, you have lots of friends that are boys." Thorn pointed out.

"That's different. And you're not denying anything." Sunny retorted. "So are you?"

"Yes." Thorn said.

Sunny stood up, then sat down, not sure how to take in that information.

"Pretty surprising, huh?" Thorn said with a smile.

Sunny immediately let the fangirl part of her take over, the ideas of a new ship forming.

"Have you kissed him yet?" She asked.

"Sunny!" Thorn yelled. "Why would you ask someone that?"

"Three reasons. One, I'm a fangirl, this is a new ship for me, and I'm loving this. Two, you're my mom. Three, blackmail for school." Sunny replied mischievously.

Thorn rolled her eyes. "Fair enough."

"Now, answer my question."

"Yeah, yeah, we have." Thorn relied with a sigh.

"Cool. Now, I'm going to go over to Glory's place and tell her."

"Go ahead. Make sure to ask if she's started dating Deathbringer yet."

"I will!" Sunny shouted as she walked out the door.

——————————

Sunny was walking on the sidewalk, texting Glory to tell her she was coming to her house.

She bumped into someone, falling on the side of the road.

"I'm sorry!" The person said. He was a handsome, young boy, looking fairly strong, and had blond hair and black glasses.

He put out his hand and Sunny took it, blushing in the process.

"Sorry about that." He restated. "I'm  Meerkat, by the way."

"Sunny." Sunny replied. She couldn't stop looking at his face.

"D-do you wanna have lunch tomorrow?" He asked nervously.

"Yes! I mean, sure." She responded.

Meerkat let out a small laugh. "See you then."

"Oh!" Sunny exclaimed. "Where do you wanna go?"

"I dunno? What about the Outclaw Cafe?"

"Yeah! Sound great. See you, then." Sunny said.

"See you." Meerkat replied with a small wave.

They quickly exchanged numbers and a Sunny rushed to Glory's house.

When she got to the door, Glory immediately opened it, without Sunny even knocking.

"Come in! Why is your face so red?"

"No reason!" Sunny responded quickly.

"Uh huh. Anyway, what's so urgent?" Glory asked.

Sunny sat down on Glory's couch and the words fell out of her mouth, about her mom, and Glory's eyes widening by every word.

"Oh! And I'm also going to have lunch with a guy named Meerkat tomorrow." She remembered.

"You WHAT!" Glory exploded. "You have a boyfriend!"

"We're not dating!" Sunny yelled back.

"You will be!" Glory shot back.

"So will you and Deathbringer!" Sunny retorted.

Glory's mouth opened, then closed again.

"Oh crap." Sunny realized.

"What?" Glory asked.

"I'm going out with Meerkat to my moms cafe. With my mom working there."

"You're screwed." Glory said.

"I really am."
