Two years went by, and Cloud was very lonely. Now that Scorpion was gone, she had no one to play with except for Glass. Last year, Glass woke up one morning to see nothing. At all. She's been paranoid of everything ever since. She now has gotten used to the house so she can maneuver around and do stuff instead of stay in her bed like Cloud had suggested.
"Cloud, I can't find my rat!" Glass called. Cloud sighed. Ever since their parents went missing, Glass carried a little stuffed rat wherever she went. Cloud hopped over to Glass's room and saw her sister in the floor, searching with her hands while her tail swept the ground rapidly.
"Glass, your rat is literally on the shelf right beside you." Cloud said dryly.
"Oh, thanks!" Glass exclaimed, destroying Cloud's unhappy mood. They both smiled at each other until Glass snatched her rat off the shelf. Cloud left Glass's room and flopped down on her own bed. She wondered where her parents might be and what she could do to find them. She thought about her future and what she would be accomplishing. She asked herself over and over the same question: what can I do to protect Glass and myself?

Three months passed by quickly, and Cloud had grown as a dragon and a sister. Her shoulders were broader and she was almost too tall to stay in the old shelter. Glass however had stayed pretty much the same. The dragonets were the same height and Glass had to rely on Cloud to help her if she needed it.
The dragonets were having trouble without their parents. The food was scarce and their shelter was actually disintegrating. Every day Cloud had to go and hunt for food and sometimes, she would come back with nothing. Eventually, they would have to find a new place to live... like right now.
"Glass," Cloud started. "I think we are too big to be in this tiny shelter. We need somewhere to live!" She said as Glass staggered over to her sister.
"Me too. My wings are squished and I keep bumping my head on the sealing!" Glass complained, flopping onto the floor.
"I wish I could still see." Cloud heard her mumble.
"I wish you could too, but you can't. You have me. And I will take care of you so don't worry." Cloud exclaimed.
"Help me!" She whispered to herself.
