Peril sat back as she watched Clay interact with the dragonets. I wish I could do that. Play with the kids. Clay saw her sad expression and stood. Three dragonets falling off his back. Clay turned around and told the kids to head to the prey center. Peril curled into herself as the kids passed her.
"Hey don't worry." Clay came over and encased me in his wings. His scales didn't smolder like everyone else's did. It felt good to hug someone. To be thought of as an equal.

"C-Clay?" Peril asked. I can do this. I can do this. I can do this. She repeated over and over in her head.

"Yes peril?" Clay pulled back from the hug. Peril looked down and was ringing her talons together.

"I-I love y-you..." Peril brought her face up to see a smirking Clay. He grabbed her talons with his.

"Well it just so happens that I love you too." Peril sucked in a breath and smiled.

"Awwwwwwww!" Dragonets were piled up at the door watching. Clay turned around and chased the kids out. She smiled to herself and was glad that she told him.
