                                                             CHAPTER 2

When Tsunami woke up, she felt different. As she opened her eyes, she realized that she couldn’t see! Am I blindfolded? It can’t just be dark, then I’d be able to see. She felt her eyes, they weren’t blindfolded. She remembered a bright light. Maybe that temporarily blinded me. She got up. There was a faint light coming from outside. She stumbled towards it. When she reached the exit, she didn’t have to duck to get out of the cave. She had to when she went in, she was confused. Tsunami sat down on the ledge to think about it, she loved looking around at the view.

Meanwhile, back in the cave, Starflight woke up. He stretched his long neck and looked around. The pedestal was still standing, but the top cage was gone and the vines were dead-looking. Wait, he thought, how can I see? Maybe the gem healed us all from our injuries! He looked around and saw that Sunny was missing. Oh no! I have to find her! He ran out of the cave, bonking his head on the cave entrance. He didn’t notice, he was too overwhelmed with joy about seeing again. He could read, he could write! He could- Then he spotted Sunny on the ledge. She seemed to be thinking about something.

“Sunny!” His voice sounded like a girl, but he didn’t care, he bounded towards Sunny.

Tsunami swiveled her head around to see who was calling Sunny. She saw herself running toward her.

“Ah!” she screamed. She jumped up, ran around her duplicate, and escaped back into the cave.

“Wait! Sunny!” came her own voice from behind her. She ran into the dark room and right into another dragon.

“You have to help me!” she squeaked in a high-pitched voice that wasn’t her own.

“Calm down! Now, I can’t see in the dark, so who are you?” it sounded like Glory. Tsunami relaxed, even though sometimes Glory and her didn’t get along well, she was the best person to talk to right now.

“Tsunami you idiot!” Tsunami shouted. That woke almost everyone up.

Clay yawned and mumbled, “I’m hungry.” But it didn’t sound like him, it sounded like Fatespeaker.

“That’s a first, Fatespeaker,” came Clay’s voice, “woah! My voice is really deep!”

“Sunny!” Starflight yelled in Tsunami’s voice, “where are you! Ah ha! There you are!” He rushed towards Tsunami.

“Aaahhh! Glory! Help!” Tsunami pushed Glory in front of her.

“I’m not good at fighting! I have never fought in my life!” Glory protested.

“Of course you have! Don’t be a squid brain! Now save me!” Tsunami yelled.

“I’m Sunny silly! I can’t fight!” said Glory’s voice.

“WHAT?” roared Tsunami.

“Who’d you think I was? Glory?”

“That’s exactly who I thought you were! Now save me before it’s too late!” Tsunami cried.

“No!” Sunny/Glory said and she jumped out of the way. Starflight/Tsunami smacked straight into Tsunami/Sunny.

“Hey! Get off you piece of barnacle covered kelp!” Tsunami/Sunny roared, “wait, did I just call myself a piece of barnacle covered kelp?”

“Yes, you did,” came Clay’s voice.

“Who just agreed to that?!” Tsunami/Sunny asked.

“Me, Glory,” Glory/Clay said.

Tsunami/Sunny burst into laughter, “y-your voice, i-it’s s-s-s-so d-d-deep!” She could hardly control herself. She fell to the floor and rolled around crazily.

“Well then. I might be a male-” Glory/Clay started.

“The king of the RainWings!” Tsunami/Sunny teased.

“But you’re a tiny, weird-looking SandWing with no gills,” Glory/Clay pointed out. They both ran out of the cavern, Glory/Clay chasing Tsunami/Sunny. The rest of the group followed. Outside, it was nice and sunny. A cool breeze wafted by as Glory/Clay chased Tsunami/Sunny into a wrestling match. Of course, Glory/Clay’s MudWing body won over Tsunami/Sunny’s small one. Now, in the sunlight, they could see themselves clearly.

“Hey, where’s some food I could eat?” Fatespeaker’s voice asked.

“Oh no, I’m a male! And I’m blind!” came Starflight’s voice.

“Who is that?” questioned Starflight/Tsunami.

“Fatespeaker, I-I think I’m Starflight, Tsunami,” Fatespeaker/Starflight declared.

“I’m Starflight. I am Tsunami. No, I’m Starflight in Tsunami’s body,” Starflight/Tsunami worked out.

“Oh, that just sounded wrong,” said Glory/Clay.

“He’s Starnami!” exclaimed Sunny/Glory.

“Yeah! By the way, I’m Clay. Or I guess, Clayspeaker. You know, Fatespeaker and Clay,” Clayspeaker agreed.

“That means I’m Sunory, me, Sunny, in Glory’s body,” Sunory figured.

“I would be Glorclay I guess. Glory in Clay’s body, weird,” Glorclay guessed.

“That makes me Fateflight, I think. Fatespeaker in Starflight’s body. Right?” concluded Fateflight.

“I, Tsunami, would be, um, Tsunanny? I guess. At least I’m still a princess!” Tsunanny determined.

“Wait, that makes me a princess doesn’t it?” asked Starnami.

“Haha! Yes! Starfli- I mean, Starnami is a princess!” Glorclay giggled.

“This is weird. I mean, hearing what you think is Clay say something like that. He would never say that!” Sunory exclaimed.

“We have to fix this! I can’t be stuck like this forever! Plus, if Sunny, I mean Sunory has to go back and take my place as Queen,” Glorclay trailed off. Everyone was now thinking of just what could go wrong.
