I finally finished the 7th book! So awesome!

WARNING: the following theories contain spoilers for Winter Turning. Don't blame me oif you continue reading before finishing the book.

When Scarlet is talking to her companion, he says that Scarlet owes him something, and that he ia, in fact, a NightWing.

At first, I thought that it might be Morrowseerer, but (there's always that 'but') this NightWing's personality doesn't match Morrowseerer's at all.

Also, there's the fact that he has a "talent", as he described it, which is the ability to change dragons into Pyrite, and possibly other dragons. It's also important to say that he isn't a full-fledged animus, as Scarlet told us.

I think that what Scarlet's companion's "talent" could be being an animus, but only being able to use enchantments writen on paper.

This dragon also either:

a) wears a piece of skyfire, knowing what skyfire does

b) wears a piece of skyfire, not knowing what it does,

c) he has trained himself to be able to block out mindreaders' abilities, meaning he knows that there are still/were real mindreaders

I think Scarlet's NightWing companion is a new character, because, unless my memory is incorrect, there aren't any NightWings we know of with his personality, or abilities

Also on Scalret's comanion(s), I say with certainty that Cirrus is somehow helping Scarlet, possiblely by guarding Pyrite/Hailstorm
