"I'm going to have to let her down." Steve sighed, a worried look etched onto his features

"Please Steve, there must be another way!" Peggy cried sitting at the air-command desk located in Hydra's base, "Steve don't do it. Don't Steve. Please."

"I have to Peggy." Steve took out his pocket-compass and opened it, a picture of Peggy stared back at him, "You still owe me that dance."

Peggy laughed.

"Okay fine. I want you to meet me-" Static rose- "8 o'clock-" Static again- "and don't you be late." She finished as Steve turned the plane so that the nose faced the distant arctic terrain.

Steve started to speak but static soon filled the receiver and Peggy burst into tears, "Steve? Steve...? Steve...!?"

Steve's commanding officer walked past Peggy, unsure of what to do.

"First Steve's best friend, now him!" Peggy cried and frantically tried to reconnect with Steve, to find his location. But it was no use. He was gone. Just like his best friend, Bucky.

A large funeral took place in Captain America's honor. But a much smaller one was held in Steve Rogers honor.

And that was where Peggy met her future husband.

Howard asked Peggy to help lead a new Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, or SHIELD.

Howard ended up marrying and Peggy attended his wedding. She attended the first birthday of his son, Anthony. She also attended his and his wife's funerals.

A tragic car accident. Which left his poor son, Anthony, fatherless and motherless. Not that they were around for him much anyway.

When Peggy looked back on her life, she saw achievements and failures. But her biggest regret is that one dance with Steve.

Always Steve.
