(Ok before we begin this chapter I'd like to inform you all ahead of time that there will be flashbacks in this and they will look like this, so if you come across any italicized text then it's a flash back, now without further ado let's get to the story! - Ghost)

"Cosmo?"  Mack asked concerned at the sight of the Galaxy clad ego.

"I... Don't want to leave. Please." The one called Cosmo replied with a hint of fear.

"What do you mean? You aren't going an-"
Before Mack could finish his sentence he noticed that Cosmo was becoming translucent.

"Oh dear..."

His mind was racing and he felt stuck. He wanted to help, but he just didn't know what to do.

"Please... Make it st-"
That was the last thing Mack heard of Cosmo... The last time he saw him.

"I'm sorry..."

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."
Mack repeated as he watched the code seemingly eat itself each passing second.

"I can't give up. Not now." He reassured himself, before looking back at the computer to track the fractured code.

"That should lead me to the fractured. See you soon Digby." Mack said his goodbyes to his frog  and grabbed an old file that  contained information he  needed before going to wherever the tracker would take him.

Some time later...

After some time of following the arrow , he arrived at an apartment building.

As he entered the building, the arrow changed it's direction to point upwards.

Easily figuring out that the infected must be on a higher floor Mack stepped inside the elevator, which seemingly started going up by itself.

"Alright so if this book is correct, the symptoms should begin with dizziness, and as time goes on  a bit of short  term memory loss, slightly glitching which gets worse with stress, and in some cases speech being replaced by binary."  Mack read out loud , as he waited for the elevator to stop.

"The infected are not aware they are infected." He finished reading as the elevator stopped and the arrow changed to point outside the elevator doors.

Mack stepped out of the elevator and the arrow led him to a door.
