— "Honey, I'm a homewrecker, not a fairy godmother."
— "Your future looks... bleak. yeah, bleak. let's go with that."
— "So you DON'T want me to break out into song, then?"
— "Are you being serious, or are you just joking? Yes, I am genuinely asking this, and no, you can not choose both."
— "With that attitude? Darling, you won't last a day out there."
— "🎶 it's not a surprise, if you through that door, you'll meet your demise, so pay me and I'll tell you more 🎶"
— "Edric, babe, mixing magic is not that complicated. Sure, I mean, it's definitely illegal and you could end up like the Owl Lady— but here at Hexside, the most it'll do is land you a permanent seat in detention. It's fun, you should try it some time."
— "They're secret tunnels... OW! What was that for? Don't hit your elders!"
— "The Golden Guard is hot. I'd totally kiss him... Luz, what's that look for? Did I say something wrong again?"
— "I wrote a song about that. Want to hear it? No? Okay. *gets out guitar anyway* 🎶Ohhhhh~🎶"
— "Oh, I'm with my dad this weekend. Yeah. Divorced parents, amiright?"
— "The human realm— ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!"
— "Yeah, no. We need to find shelter, clothes and food. Hell, forget clothes, we need full body disguises. Humans aren't blue, nor do they have horns or three pairs of eyes. We can worry about finding our way back home later. Right now, we need to worry about BLENDING IN."

opinion on earth or boiling isles
— Earth is... interesting, to say the least. While Malakai does find it interesting, he knows that they need to get back home before they're discovered, because if they are, a huge scandal might break out in the human world and humans will find out about the Boiling Isles— he can't let that happen and he needs to get them home, and so they have to blend in and stay low. Aside from this, Malakai thinks Earth is honestly a very fun place. He likes the people there, and taking a break from magic is sort of fun. He also discovered that a local the-at-ter is putting on something called a "music-cal" and he is very much interested in it.

opinion on luz
— Ah, you mean the weird human girl who he met in detention? She's... okay. Malakai secretly admires her for the way she stood up for him and the others, because without her, he wouldn't be able to study both the oracle track and the bard track. He talks to her when he has to but otherwise they don't interact quite often, unless in class or when Malakai is at Edric's house. He's seen the human girl there with Edric's little sister before.

personality
— tsundere, blunt, cold shoulder, bold, bitter, serious, emotionless(?), musical, sassy, sarcastic-ish/comes off as sarcastic when he's actually being serious, flirtatious, straight forward, brutally honest, kind, startled easily, flustered rarely, outgoing, keeps to himself, quiet

background
— Malakai was raised on the more, well, privledhwd side of the Isles, as his family stands alongside the Blighta in the world of magic; Except, instead of abominations, they're oracles who sell prophecies. Being the second oldest, Malakai always thought he'd work alongside his older brother, the heir, and continue the family business. That is... until their parents got divorced. Growing up, their parents had always bickered, but not in the normal way, no— they were always yelling and screaming at each other, getting into scary arguments over stupid, usually petty actions and situations. The Prosper house was like a war zone. Malakai's brother, Mordu, always made sure he and Malakai were out of the room when this occurred. And when their little sisters were born, the triplets, Malakai helped with them too. His brother would usually put headphones on Malakai, and okay music while their parents fought. As they grew older Malakai would often notice his brother getting upset, having panic attacks during their parents arguments and over normal, low-stress situations, because of the environment they grew up in. Malakai himself struggled with communicating as well as expressing his own emotions because in his home, any sort of emotions sparked a negative reaction from his parents. The triplets were still young. Finally, his parents realized they were too broken to fix— that no amount of couples therapy could help them— and so they divorced. Well, they were thinking about it, but when Mordu went missing (when he ean away from home) their decision was quickly made. Not knowing what happened to their eldest son, the family split apart. Malakai was devestated by his brother's disappearance and started going to therapy after being diagnosed with depression. However, he would later be the only one in the family to have heard from his brother after the divorce and disappearance. He gets letters from Mordu regularly— but tells no one. In the end, the Emperor's Coven decided that the triplets were going to live with their mom... their father offered only to pay for their schooling at a private academy. Their mother declined this offer. Hence, Mal's father got no custody of the kids, despite wanting some— however, he did get a shared custody over Malakai. His parents tried to make Malakai choose one, but he didn't want to pick either of them. Instead, they made an agreement, and yet they still are trying to get him to reveal who's side he's actually on— so, naturally, they tried to get him to choose which magic as well. While he comes from a legacy family in the Oracle track, his mother is a member of the bard coven. Her marriage with Mal's father was prearranged, but they did eventually love each other... maybe. There were many reasons why they didn't get along after marriage. Some time after they had Malakai, things just took a turn for the worse. The triplets weren't even born on purpose. Things just got more stressful after that. Malakai hates explaining to his sisters that sweeping up broken glass and walking to school and the store alone aren't things other witches do. Currently, Malakai attends Hexsixe as a senior witch alongside his sisters and a few of his childhood friends. His father recently got engaged to a member of the Emperor's Coven.
