Glancing at my new room I let out an exhausted sigh. After the vows were said all hell broke loose. Assume that an approximate amount of 150 villagers attempted getting inside the castle to take pictures and pass on well wishes. After the guards finally calmed them down the feast had begun.

The chefs had prepared a variety of different foods from roasted turkey to Chinese dumplings to salmon sushi and smoked crabs. Dishes from different cultures and origins were served and not a single person lacked a personal choice wine or cocktail drink.

A fine cheer was made by the Kings to celebrate our marriage and an actual musical band performed throughout the feast, a damn actual musical band unlike the regular family friend bard. It was good music for sure.

After that we had to have our first dance as husband and wife which went by quite smoothly despite Kaden stabbing my toes with his foot over and over and over again. I still wondered if that was on purpose or he just couldn't dance to save his darn life. Hopefully the latter in a case of an argument where i have to point out his weaknesses.

We danced to Ed sheeran's "perfect" as per chosen by Kaden's sister. Typical move for a girl that thinks every single couple has to be fairytale like. If only she knew.

I sat down on the queen sized bed (mind the pun) and contemplated my next move in married life. I shuddered at the thought of sharing a room with my contractual husband. Anyone up for regular nightly insults about just everything you are and do and wish? No? That's what i thought.

Just then the devil walked into the room. So my biggest nightmare had to indeed come true. Karma? Did I kill an innocent farmer and his seventy baby chicks in my previous life? Why this unfairness, girl? My mind went on a zone out as usual and I begin wondering whether karma was in fact, a female. Probably. Men were too blonde to take perfect, risk calculated, analysed and well prepared revenge.

Kaden stomped his foot in front of the bed and I suddenly snapped back to reality. That foot stamp made me question whether he really did purposely try assassinating my baby toe. Typical.

I raised me head slightly and took a look at his tall figure and met his eyes which he immediately found offensive. "You do not look your husband in the eye and stand up when I enter the room" he snapped. I gasped at the tone of his voice and the back of my eyes burned with unshed tears. We just got married for Pete's sake. Kindness wasn't all that hard to at least fake.

Softly I asked him if we'd be sleeping in the same room. He glared at me in offense. "We're married, contractually, yes, but we need an offspring and we cant have that without even being in the same room. Warm up, sweetheart. I might have said we can do whatever we want with whomever we please but I will only allow you to be the mother of MY child. This is MY kingdome as the man and MY heir will take over. Also, as much as I'd much rather have another woman provide that for me, you have to be the mother because it was your father's kingdom as well."

He spoke so smoothly and soft yet it had a certain frigidity to it. His words were a poison provided in a gold cup. I gulped audibly causing a smirk to form on his lips as he leaned forward and kissed me lightly. "Goodnight, wife" he said slyly and lay on one side of the bed. I cautiously lay on the other side. My breathing erratic and heavy. He groaned loudly, "can you breathe a bit softer? No, do breathe softer. This is a command not a request". Jesus, this guy was even offended by my breathing.

"A night in hell" seemed like the perfect expression for my first night as a newly wedded Queen.
