Sunny

I never did anything grand in our family's estate of the SandWings.

Yes, I was known to the public as 'Lady Sunny' or daughter of the SandWings.

Here, at school, I was known as Princess Sunny.

To my friends I was simply Sunny.

But to Darkstalker and his friends (Clearsight and Fathom), I was the Princess of the SandWings, the most high ranked SandWing here at Dragon Academy.

I never had much royal practice.

Help.

Here was the order:

It was the MudWing princess first, Alligator Murkwater, with her second, Clay's sister Sora.

Then was me with Qibli.

Then Ember, since she beat Peril in the voting (she still promoted Peril to captain of flight once she got her dragon form) and her second, Garnet.

Then was Tsunami with Anemone.

Then Winter with a randomly selected girl named Prism.

Then Glory and Kinkajou,

Finally Moon and Deathbringer.

Darkstalker walked out of the curtains.

I felt a shiver of fear run down my spine. I've only seen him once, but it was enough to leave the impression that he could break the laws of the universe without trying. (Seriously tho, don't try it Darkstalker. Pls. For the sake of the universe)

"HELLO MY DEAR DRAGONS," Darkstalker said cheerfully.

He pointed to the Princesses. "You must be thy princesses."

"Yes, we are thy princesses," Tsunami said with no amusement in her voice.

"And you are thy Darkwalker with Cleareyes and Fathom," Qibli said.

I gave him a look that was both stern and amused.

Qibli's look said that he knew their names perfectly.

"How come fathom is the only one who got his name said correctly?" Darkstalker objected.

"Because I AM the more memorizable one," Fathom said proudly.

"Uh huh," Clearsight said.

"Why are you here again?" Ember asked. "We made it clear that you weren't welcome to our school the last time you came,"

"I'm here to make a deal," Darkstalker said. "To all the NightWings here."

"You will have to talk to me for that," Moon said.

I couldn't see here, given the fact that she was at the other side of the line of Princesses, but I could imagine the calm look on her face.

"Ah," Darkstalker said. "You are the NightWing princess."

"Princess Moon is how you'll refer to her as," Deathbringer said.

"For you," Moon said to Darkstalker and his comrades. "It's princess Moonwatcher.

"Of course, Princess Moonwatcher." Darkstalker said, amused. "And what makes you think you're so high and mighty?"

"Because I'm reading your mind right now," Moon said confidently. "And I can also foresee that you will..." she stopped. Everyone could hear the note of confusion in her voice.

She clearly saw something in her vision that something wasn't right.

"Another mind reader," Clearsight said, awestruck. "Darkstalker, she's just like you. Plus the vision seeing!"

"Yes," Darkstalker said. "But first, let me get to my point." He turned towards the crowd. "I see the NightWing section up there. NightWings, listen to what I have to say,"

The crowd was very still,

"I'll free you from the unjust bonds," Darkstalker said. "I'll make sure you have a prosperous life. Follow me and abandon your queen. I will be a better king than her,"

There was a very long silence.

Moon wasn't talking.

I heard the confused murmurs rippling through all the tribes.

What unjust bonds?

"Um," someone said from the NightWings, and I recognized Fatespeaker, with Starflight vigorously shaking his head.

"We aren't being treated unfairly," Fatespeaker called. "In fact, we're doing great, thanks,"

Darkstalker frowned at her. "But isn't it strange, being ruled by a RainWing?"

Now the confusion was undoubtedly louder.

"You have something mixed up," Glory interrupted. "I am the original Queen of the RainWings. I rule over no NightWings. Princess Moonwatcher has that title."

"But the NightWing queen died," Darkstalker said patiently. "And all the dragons escaped to the Rainforest and pledged their loyalty to Queen Glory,"

"That sounds like a fairytale," Winter interrupted. "Moon knows which part of Pyrrhia is the NightWings, and their land is way off from the rainforest,"

"What world are you living in?" I asked, since I hadn't talked  yet. "Moon is the Princess, and Battlewinner is the high queen,"

Now Darkstalker was the confused one. "Battlewinner is dead," he said.

"My aunt is not dead," Moon said, all of a sudden.  Her voice was still calm, but as I leaned over, I saw the look of knowing on her face. "You are the one that's confused. How did you even get here? This is year 5057,"

Darkstalker slowly turned to look at Clearsight and Fathom, who was also looking very stunned.

"We three were part of experiments in 2057," Clearsight said. "But that was two thousand years ago, we woke up only a few months ago,"
