- Jewel's POV -

As if on cue, Yuuta proceed his task along with his men while I distract Luke. I wasn't alone. Shadow also helped me. He eventually transformed into his wolf form and attacked Luke. I, on the other hand, let Alice take over me once more. But as we were in the middle of the fight, someone got themselves involve with us.

Two red-haired people joined in. One helps Luke, the other resist Luke and 'her' friend from attacking Shadow. It took a few minutes to realised that the red-haired female was Ruby.

"RUBY!" I shouted. "Jewel! Help me!"

I pushed her friend and Luke off Shadow and that's when her friend holds the grip of my left wrist. I winced in pain as I began to release wolf noises. Shadow noticed me and bit Ruby's friend's hand.

He did let go of me and dropped to his knees, crying himself like a child while I climb onto Shadow's back. Gripping on his back and make sure I won't fall off. "Ruby, climb onto my back!" Shadow growled lowly.

"Right!"

She did as Shadow told and sat behind me. Shadow roamed out of the building and left the chaos inside. He led us to our home. When we reached the front gate, Ruby told Shadow to drop her off. So, he did.

"Explain yourself, Ruby," Shadow look at Ruby with a slightly disapproving look. "Alright, alright..."

"Look, it's my cousin's job to somehow assassinate people around and most likely to the dirty, nasty job. I was dragged into it as my cousin, Lyucan has a choice to pick his partner. But Luke, the second in-hand, will have his partner picked out especially for him..." Ruby explained.

"That's when I may have brought up your family name..." She continued. "YOU IDIOT!"

Shadow growled at her. His growl grew louder and the more aggressive he becomes. He nearly lands his huge paw on her but I help him resist it by giving Shadow a pat on his head. He slowly calmed himself down as I continued to pat him.

"Ruby didn't mean it, Shadow... At least we escaped that nasty place and hopefully, Yuuta~Senpai ripped the contract that Father signed," I stuffed my face into his fur.

"Alright, you're right, Jewel. I should be okay about this... Plus, you have the Howl Games soon, Jewel! I should train you very much soon!" Shadow's tone seemed to become normal.

I nodded slightly as I lift my head up. Ruby looked at me, happily. Shadow then laid himself down and allowed me to climb down off his back. I sat on the ground and hug him like a giant teddy bear.

I'm still attached to Shadow's soft side.

That's when Alice backs off.

"I'm sorry that I made you both involved in this... Kuro isn't around, is he?" Ruby asked. "Apparently not."

In the distance, I saw two figures. I began to growl as a warning. Shadow and Ruby heard me and turn to where I growl towards. As the two figures walking towards us, Ruby stood behind me and Shadow, obviously hiding.

But they aren't just strangers.

It was just Yuuta and his father.

They both looked at us and noticed Ruby. Yuuta's father then asked about Ruby's business with those pesky people. As for Yuuta...

He sat down next to me and Shadow.

He had a smile on his face and pat Shadow on the head.

"Is the contract gone?" Shadow barked. "Mhm! All gone!"

"THANK YOU, SENPAI!" I hugged Yuuta without any hesitant. Yuuta was obviously shocked at a surprise hug I have given. But he hugged back. Shadow also snuggles us. While this was happening, somewhere in Kishi's place...

"Kuro, I need your help in Japan-"
