EIGHT MONTHS LATER

Wunmi works as a secretary in one of the biggest clothing business man in Abuja after her graduation. She graduated with First Class Honours from the university of Lagos, during the convocation ceremony was when she was offered so many jobs and gifts. She chose the one at Abuja because it was a business she had an experience in.

After the eight months, she had decided to open her own fashion shop once she was done with the Nysc program as she had more than enough money for it. Wunmi and Tayo never separated even if they stayed far apart. He comes to visit her regularly not minding the cost and distance.

Wunmi got to her place after a long day at work. She called Tayo and they talked for long as usual but she noticed his voice was a bit sad. She asked him and he told her he was just having a headache. After the call, Wunmi had a feeling he was hiding something so she decided to video call Lara.

She opened her laptop and connected her whatsapp to it, not long after Lara picked up. "Wunmi, how are you? You have forgotten us here now."
Wunmi shook her head "Was it not last night we talked, anyways I'm fine but I think Tayo isn't."
Lara breathed in deep "I think so too, he's been acting weird lately. I don't know what's wrong with him."
"Did you ask Ade? Maybe he knows." Wunmi asked. "No," Lara shook her head. "Ade has tried asking him but he didn't say anything to his brother."
"Lara, I'm scared. What if something bad is happening to him and he doesn't want to share."
"It's going to be fine, I'm sure."
"I'm coming tomorrow, don't tell him."
"Ah? What about your work?" Lara asked. "Missing work a day can't hurt, I'll tell my boss."
"Okay, call me if you find out anything."
"K. Bye, take care."
"You too." Wunmi ended the call.
She went to take her bath and prepare her clothes for the next day.

*Time skips*
Wunmi paid the Uber driver that brought her to Uncle Kayode's company. She walked inside and greeted the gate keeper. "Madam madam, how things now?"
She smiled "Fine, how are you too." "I dey oo."
She walked inside the office and saw Natasha "Good morning." She greeted her. Natasha smirked at her "Hey Wunmi, how are you. I've missed you a lot." She said, deceit filling her voice.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Thank you." Wunmi walked into the office while Natasha laughed.

"Good morning." Caroline looked up from her desk and jumped up "Wunmi!" She ran to hug her "How have you been?"
Wunmi hugged her back "I'm doing great, how are you too?"
"I'm fine, Have a seat." She gestured. "Is Uncle Kayo in?"
"Not yet, you know he comes late and Tayo isn't here too."
"Tayo isn't here?" Wunmi asked. "Yes, he called in sick today." Caroline answered
"He's the one I came to see."
"Didn't you call him?"
"No, I'll go check him at home."
"Okay."

Wunmi waved bye at her and walked outside. Natasha grinned at her "Bye bye Wunmi."
"Bye." Wunmi said, wondering why she is already nice. "Maybe she's okay with me now." She said to herself.
She entered the next bus that was going to Tayo's area.

*Time skips*
"Wunmi, what are you-" Tayo was cut short by her "I'm I not welcome here anymore?"
Tayo sighed "I'm sorry, I was just surprised."
"I noticed something was bothering you as we talked yesterday so I decided to come check up on you." Wunmi took a glass of juice for herself.
"I'm fine, it was just an headache."
"What about now? Why aren't you at work?" She moved closer to him staring into his eyes. "Tell me, I can feel something is not right, you can share with me."

Tears filled Tayo eyes but he cleaned them before it could fall then he turned his back at her. "Tayo, you're crying, what's wrong?"
He faced her, "I'm sorry Wunmi."
