I hear another knock on my door and assume it's just Seabury back to tell me off again, so I don't open the door. But the knocking persists, and eventually I get tired of the noise and go to open it up. It's not Seabury coming to tell me about the Captain, but the Captain himself. Captain George was a man who looked to be in his thirties, which a long elegant face and blue eyes. He had the nicest clothes that out of anyone that works in the mines, and they're even nicer than Thomas Jefferson's. Jefferson is the leader of the rebel base where we sought refuge after the fight in the mines. Anyway, right. Back on track. My worst enemy standing in front of me.
"Captain," I say immediately. "What are you doing here?"
"Well Seabury found me and told me you're being... resistant, and I came to make one thing clear," he leans forward and places his hands on my shoulders. I flinch, but he doesn't let go. "You come when I call you. You don't have the choice to choose, anymore."
"I don't see a difference. If I could control what happened in my life, I would have made a million things different," I say back, without caring for the consequence. "It doesn't matter what you do to me anymore."
"Not to you, maybe, but you seem to forgetting I still have your friend Mulligan?" The Captain sneers. Shit. I did forget. How could I forget? Because I was only thinking about myself, because I'm so fucking self centered.

"Please don't hurt him." I say, clenching my fists at my sides. Out of angry or sorrow, I'm not sure.
"There won't be any need too, if you just do as I say." Captain George says, releasing my shoulders, and taking a step back.
"What do you want me to do?" I ask, slightly panicked. I can see the Captain smile because this is exactly what he wanted to hear.
"First, I want you to work for me. You'll be able to stay in these lodgings, and you'll get three meals a day." The Captain responds almost immediately.
     "And Hercules?" I question.
"He'll be perfectly safe. I'll give you a higher ranking than the other guards- you'll be able to establish protect for Mr. Mulligan." The Captain says.
"Can I think about it?" I ask.
"No, you have to decide now." Crap. Okay so, the Captain is blackmailing me. If I don't work for him he'll kill Herc, but if I do I might be able to find a way to get Herc out safely. After a long, uncomfortable pause, I finally answer.
     "I'll do it."

Even now I'm not sure I made the right choice. It's midnight, and I can't sleep because all of the anxiety of the past few days is finally getting to me. Everything that's happened to me, and others. And Alex. Everything that's happened to that lovable boy, I bring up in my mind to compare against my own sorrows. Alex's parents were gone by the time he was twelve. And so were mine. Well, my mom died when I was six, but my father left me mentally. Except when he jerked out of his drunken state to hit me. Alex's brother was killed in a hurricane, while I was bullied at school for my sexuality. Alex grew up with no one to care for him, but at least I had Herc. Hercules was always there for me, always cared for me, and protected for me. He might not be able to exactly help me out in this situation, but he could as least hold me, and give me a shoulder to cry on.

I sit so suddenly, it feels as though I have sent my head to another planet. I shake it off as I climb out of bed and slide on my shoes. There's no need for me to change into day clothes because I didn't change out of them. Of course, I could request sleepwear but I don't want any help from the British. But... I think as I open the door and walk down the hallway. It'd be nice to have a map. The Captain's base is a maze, his father built it that way on purpose to confuse and rebel minds trying to perpetuate it. I've been in here roughly three times but two of those times I was forced to wear a bag over my head and the third we were in the dungeons.

I don't exactly know my goal, but I do know that spending anymore time in that room alone is torture, and walking might clear my head anyways, I turn down a passageway and continue at down a hallway at random.

Eventually, after I walk down several staircases and through several hallways, I come upon a corridor that I recognized. It's the hallway with the Captain's office. I tiptoe past the office because I'm technically not supposed to be up and I have no idea where the Captain sleeps, but he might be in there and it wouldn't be a good idea to wake him up.

While walking down the hallway, I come across a door that's not completely closed. It looks as though it was meant to be shut completely, but it wasn't. I open the door a fraction of an inch and stare inside. It's too dark to see anything to I walk instead, close the door behind me and the lights come on automatically. The rooms looks like a strange laboratory, but most of the equipment seems to have been put away for the night. I do notice several animal cages placed around the room. And also spy a white door on the other side of the room. I start towards it, and as I place my hand on the doorknob, I suddenly hear strange sounds coming from the opposite side of the door. Without hesitation I fling the door open, because I know what those sounds are, I've made them frequently myself. Someone is crying, and I recognize that voice.

The other side of the door is dark, but the lights of the first room flood the smaller room, allowing me to see the figure shackled to the wall, hunched over and crying. It's Hercules.
