Without further ado, here is the next part of this story. Hope you like it :-

"MR.DEV DIXIT, WILL YOU MARRY ME?"

****Dev's POV****
What did I just hear, Was it a dream or reality? Sonakshi just proposed me, I see her on her knees with her hand holding the platinum ring with our names engraved on it. Was this really happening? I mean just this afternoon she behaved as if she had given up and was suffocating in this relationship but what was happening right now was befuddling me to no end. I entered my room after a tiring day, angry, hurt, sad and all synonyms of disappointment coursing through me but then something unexpected happened, I saw Sonakshi in my room standing with her dazzling smile, donning the same saree which I had gifted her on our first date here. And what happened after that just went by in a blur. She took me back into memory lane, living all the important moments of my life with me. But how did she get the box which was there in Maa's room holding my past? Did Maa give it to her? Does that mean she has accepted Sonakshi along with our relationship? And then I hear those words "Will you marry me?" and that was it, all the emotions which were running through me remembering the past flowed from my eyes in the form of tears.

Do you know how it felt to find water in a desert after days of struggle or feel the first rains of the season after a searing summer. That was what I was going through right now, it was as if someone had lifted the weight off my shoulders, all these days of struggle, the pain that both had gone through seemed worth it. So overwhelming were the emotions that I could do nothing but slump down on my knees and sob like a child when I felt her arms around me, cocooning me in her protective hold, hiding my head in her bosom as she caressed my hair.

****Sonakshi's POV****
As I said those words I could see the befuddled expression on his face and why would it not be, especially given the way I had behaved with him this afternoon. Though I knew that what I had planned for him would make up for all the pain he would have felt at that moment yet only I knew how difficult it was for me to behave like that. The general norm of the society was that the guy proposes, and the girl responds to it but who made these rules? When we both loved each other how did it matter who had proposed? Yes, I know it would have been a fairy tale if he had proposed me for the marriage, but didn't he already do that when he had confessed his love for me. I was ready to let go of him but DEV, no MY DEV had the courage to confess his love for me even at the cost of jeopardizing his hard-earned money and reputation. He had given me my fairy-tale, did he not deserve his fairy-tale? I know he never believed in fairy-tales neither had he expected anything from me except my unflinching love and support, but this was the least I could do for him, for Us.

And then Auntyji's...correction Maa's request just strengthened my want, I decided to give him probably the biggest surprise & happiness of our lives. But then I was confused, that's when our siblings and Maa came to my rescue and I planned everything for him.  As I waited in his room with bated breath after all the arrangements were done I could feel the butterflies in my stomach, how would he feel? Would he listen to me? Would everything happen as I planned? Numerous thoughts and apprehensions were running through my mind when I heard the door open. And then after that everything went by like a trance, there were moments when he cried remembering his past and I silently supported him. And finally, I popped the question "MR.DEV DIXIT, WILL YOU MARRY ME?". I could see his puzzled expression and then after a few seconds he slumped on to the floor sobbing like a child while my heart cried with him and at that moment the only thing I could is hold him against my bosom caressing his hair, trying to calm him down.

"Dev...Dev...calm down, please calm down love" said Sonakshi as she caressed his hair and back trying to calm him down, but his tears refused to cease as he held her tightly wetting her saree with his tears. Sonakshi just held him, after a few moments his cries turned into silent snivels as he came out of her hold. As he looked at her with his teary eyes Sonakshi smashed her lips with his as they engaged into in to soul searing kiss. It was a kiss of love, of pain, of their struggle. As they fervently kissed each other Sonakshi's hand went behind his head as she caught hold of it and deepened the kiss. It was only after a few minutes that both separated from each other, gasping for air as a smile played on their lips.

"Sona...this isn't a dream, right?" asked Dev as she nodded her head vigorously in a No. "No Dev, this is not a dream, this is the reality, our reality" she said as Dev pulled her into a kiss again, after a few seconds they separated.

"But then what was with your behaviour this afternoon? You have no idea what all I was thinking" he said as Sonakshi held her ears and said "Sorry Dev" as Dev held her hands and gestured her not to do so. Sonakshi then went on to reveal about her conversation with Ishwari in the afternoon along with her request to surprise Dev with a proposal for marriage. After which she told him how she had planned everything with the help of their siblings and Ishwari. As Dev heard it, a burst of joy and elation surged through his heart as he hugged Sonakshi once again. His mom had accepted their relationship.

Coming out of the hug Sonakshi said "By the way you did not answer my question yet Mr. OBODHRO, will you marry me?" she asked holding the ring out to him, both still seated on the floor as Dev replied "Do you even need to ask Ms. KHARGOSH" he said as Sonakshi put the ring on his finger while Dev took the other ring and put it on hers as the smile never left their lips. They both got up and held their hand in each other's as they came out of the room.

As they came out the sisters literally jumped on to Sonakshi and bombarded her with questions "Sona Di, Sab kuch acchey se ho gaya na? Bhaiya ne kya kaha? Aap nervous to nahi thi naa?" but before they could continue Dev pulled her back, never leaving her hand for once.

"Arey usey saans toh lene do tum dono" he said as Riya replied "Oho, Bhaiya aap toh abhi se possessive honey lagey Sona bhabhi ko leke" as Nikki chuckled while Sonakshi blushed and ducked her head as Dev pulled her ear and said "Mujhsey shahrarat, haan Riya" he said as she screamed in pain while Dev left her ear as he continued "Aur Waisey bhi Sonakshi, meri honey wali better half hai toh main toh usey leke thoda possessive toh hounga hi naa" he said as Nikki replied "Not bad Bhaiya, not bad at all" as everyone chuckled. The sisters congratulated both as they came down to the living room.

Listening to the commotion outside Ishwari came out of her room as her vision were fixed on Dev and Sonakshi, she went towards them. It was Dev who saw her first as he held Sonakshi's hand and moved towards his mother "Maa" he said reaching her as both Dev and Sonakshi bent down together to touch her feet.

"Jeetey raho, Sada khush raho" she blessed them caressing their hair as they got up and hugged her as Dev spoke "Thank you Maa, thank you" he said as Ishwari hugged them back. Coming out of the hug she said "Pagal, Maa ko koi thank you bolta hai kya" she said and hit on his head lightly as both smiled while Ishwari continued "Main khush hoon ki tum dono khush ho" she said as Sonakshi replied "Maa, aap khush hai naa?" she asked as Ishwari bobbed her head in agreement.

"Chalo tum dono mere saath" she said and held their hands and took them to the temple as she spoke "Pehle inka aashirwaad lo" she said as Sonakshi looked at Dev, she knew that Dev did not believe in god so was unsure what he would do though he had never stopped her in belief. Dev on the other hand looked at both the women, the most important women in his life. Yes, he did not believe in god but then they believed in the almighty and he believed in them. He folded his hands in prayer and took the blessings as both Sonakshi and Ishwari had tears in their eyes.

"Mujhey inpey vishwas nahi hai Maa" he said as their faces fell as Dev continued "Lekin mujhey tum dono ke vishwas par vishwas hai" he finished as both smiled looking at each other as Ishwari spoke "Dev, Tu wo dhaga hai jissey hum dono ko jodkey rakhna hai. Iss dhaage ko kabhi tootney mat dena" she said as Dev hugged her and said "Kabhi nahi Maa, kabhi nahi" as Sonakshi smiled while Ishwari stretched her left arm out to take her in the hug as well. As Sonakshi hugged them she said "Maa, humara rishta baaki sab rishton ko complete karega" she said as they smiled.

"Aap logon ka ho gaya ho toh cake kaatey?" said Nikki as they chuckled and went with her. Cutting the cake, they fed it first to Ishwari and then the sisters. Happiness had spread across Ishwari Niwas. Dev informed Ishwari that he would drop Sonakshi home as it was late in the night. As they left Ishwari's vision was fixed on their retreating vision, only one thought was going on in her mind, she had taken the right decision.

As Dev and Sonakshi entered the Bose house they were engulfed in darkness. Dev had insisted that he would leave but Sonakshi wanted him to meet her family before leaving, so he decided to do the same but all that were surrounded was by the darkness inside the house. Before Sonakshi could go to switch on the lights, the room lit up as everyone from the Bose family screamed

"SURPRISE" as both Dev and Sonakshi were taken aback for a moment but the next moment they were engulfed into hugs by Saurabh and Elena while the elders stood by the side watching their kids, tears glistening their eyes as they finally were at peace to see that two beautiful souls had finally found their much-deserved happiness. Elena informed them that Nikki had informed them about everything as happiness spread across the Bose house. They also brought in a cake to celebrate the occasion.

After the cake cutting Dev and Sonakshi took the blessing of the elders. They first touched Dadi's feet who blessed them "Sada khush raho tum dono. Chalo aakhir kar iss ghar main koi toh ladka aaya jo handsome honey ke saath saath samajhdaar bhi hai" she said as the ladies chuckled while Bijoy look at his mother incredulously as he spoke "Maa, Aap kehna kya chahti ho ki main handsome nahi hoon?" he asked but before Dadi could reply Asha interrupted.

"Bijoy, Nahi tum handsome toh ho" she said as Bijoy smiled happily but his happiness was short lived as Dadi said "Lekin tu Samajhdaar nahi hai Bijoy" she finished as Bijoy frowned "Maa. Kam se kam Dev ke saamney toh mera Mazak matt udao" he pleaded as Dadi replied "Arey Dev kya, main toh uskey bachon ke saamney bhi tera Mazak udaungi" she said as everyone chuckled just as Dev said "Not fair Dadi, Aap mere Baba ko aisey nahi keh saktey" he said side-hugging him as Bijoy said "Dekha Maa, mera Damad mera kitna respect karta hai" he said as everyone nodded in agreement. After spending some more time with the Bose family and getting treated to some delicious sweets made by Asha Dev took a leave as Sonakshi accompanied him to send him off.

"Sonakshi, kahin ye koi sapna toh nahi hai" asked Dev as they stood outside near his car. Sonakshi wound her arms around his neck and said "Nahi Dev, ye sapna nahi haqeeqat hai. It's our beautiful truth" as Dev ducked his lips on to hers and kissed her.

"Finally, you got your Fairy-tale" he said mumbling against her lips as Sonakshi said "Yes and WE WILL LIVE OUR FAIRY TALE" as she deepened the kissed, the moon and stars witnessing THEIR FAIRY TALE LOVE.

Now here I need opinion from my readers, Should i continue the story from this point on as it will be the normal like other stories i.e. engagement, wedding etc. before it ends or should I END the story at this point itself with an epilogue. The reason I ask this is because you would have read many KRPKAB stories with similar sequences, so I am not sure what new I can offer but if you want me to write it I will do that. But if you feel this story has lived its course and should end here then I will do that. So now its upon my lovely readers🙂🙂🙂, I will be waiting for your honest opinion in the comment section.
