"PATA NAHI MAA, MANN MAIN AJEEB SA DARR LAG RAHA HAI. AISEY LAG RAHA HAI JAISEY KUCH BURA HONEY WALA HO"

As soon as Asha heard Sonakshi she knew something was bothering her daughter and it was having a deep impact on her, her daughter was an ever positive rational person who could handle any situation but right now the person in front of her was someone who looked broken, though she could not pinpoint at what the reason was she knew that somewhere the happenings of the past few days along with the health of Dev's mother was disturbing her daughter as she wondered what might have happened at the hospital.

"Kya hua Sona? Tu aisey kyun bol rahi hai?" asked Asha caressing her hairs as Sonakshi kept quiet lying on the lap of her mother.

"Dev ne tujhsey kuch kaha?" she added as Sonakshi got up from her lap, tears were glistening her eyes which Asha did not miss, her doubts about the reason for Sonakshi's worry were getting confirmed.

"Nahi Maa, Dev ne kuch nahi kaha par uski Chuppi ne kafi kuch keh diya" she said as Asha sat quietly letting her daughter speak her heart out.

"Usney kuch kaha nahi Maa par main samajh gayi, main samajh gayi ki Auntyji ki tabiyat aisey hi achanak kharab nahi hui hai, main samajh gayi ki wo zaroor kuch baat ko leke pareshan hai jiski wajah se unki tabiyat kaharab ho gayi hai aur wahi baat Dev ko bhi pareshan kar rahi hai" she said as tears flowed from her eyes now unabashed as Asha wiped her tears and made her drink water while Sonakshi calmed down a bit.

"Tujhey kya lagta hai Sona, aisi kaun si baat ho sakti hai jo Ishbariji ko pareshan kar rahi hai?" she asked trying to get her daughter's thoughts.

"Pata nahi Maa par......" she paused as words failed her, even thinking about the what she was about to say was wrecking her insides she did not know what she would do if what she was thinking did turn out to be true, Asha meanwhile was observing he daughter carefully. She could exactly understand the emotional turmoil she was going through and what she was thinking but wanted to hear it from her daughter.

"Par Kya Sona?" she asked after some time seeing Sonakshi quiet

"Mujhey lagta hai ki shayad Auntyji ko mere aur Dev ke rishtey se problem hai Maa" she said as tears started flowing from her eyes once again while Asha sighed sadly, she knew what her daughter was going through as she held her hand trying to give her the strength.

"Aur tujhey aisa kyun lagta hai Sona? Kya Dev ne tujhsey kuch kaha?" asked Asha as Sonakshi nodded in a negative.

"Nahi Maa, Dev ne kuch nahi kaha...Lekin aaj hospital main jiss tarah se usney mujhey hug kiya. Jo wo kehney ki koshish kar raha thaaisey laga jaisey uskey mann main Darr hai. Darr iss baat ka ki kahin wo apni Maa ko kho na de, mujhey kho na de. Aisey lag raha tha jaisey wo andar se tooth raha hai Maa aur shayad uskey saath saath main bhi" said Sonakshi as she sobbed loudly while Asha held her trying to calm her down, her daughter needed their support the most at probably what was the biggest test that life had thrown at her and she could not just let her daughter break.

"Shaant hoja Sona, please shaant hoja. Agar tu hi aisey toot jayegi toh Dev ko kaun sambhalega. Shaant ho jaa Beta" said Asha as Sonakshi calmed down listening to her, she could not let herself fall weak nor her love.

"Sona, Mujhey lagta hai tujhey Dev se ek baar baat karni chahiye. Uskey mann main kya chal raha hai wo jaan na hoga tujhey" she said as Sonakshi nodded smiling for the first time that night, her mother always seemed to have a solution to her problems.

"Aur humesha yaad rakhna ki main humesh tum logon ke saath hoon" said Asha as Sonakshi smiled "Chal ab so jaa, raat bohot ho chuki hai" added Asha as Sonakshi lied down while Asha covered her with the blanket and left the room switching of the lights as Sonakshi drifted into the land of nod.

The next morning Ishwari was discharged from the hospital, the doctor had advised Dev to find out the reason which was stressing out his mother as Dev agreed with him. They had arrived at Ishwari Niwas where Radharani welcomed them after doing her aarti.

"Maa" said Riya and Nikki at once as they hugged Ishwari, both had tears in their eyes

"Arey tum dono ro kyun rahi ho, Main theek hoon ab" said Ishwari coming out of the hug.

"Maa, aapney toh humey bilkul dara diya tha" said Riya as Ishwari smiled and wiped the tears of her daughters.

"Kaisi hai Maa tu?" said Neha as she hugged her while Ishwari replied "Main theek hoon Neha" said Ishwari as she returned the hug while Ranveer who was standing beside Neha bent down and touched her feet as Ishwari blessed him.

"Haye Jiji, aapki halat dekh kar meri toh jaan hi Nikal gayi thi. Main toh poori raat bhagwaan ke paas baithi thi aapkey liye prarthana karney ke liye" said Radharani faking concern as she added "Pata nahi Jiji kiski nazar lag gayi hai aapko, Jab se wo Banga...." She could not continue as Mamaji squeezed her hand stopping her from continuing further "Radharani, Dekh nahi rahi hai Ishwari kitni thak gayi hai, baad main baatein kar lena" said Mamaji as Radharani frowned.

"Haan, Baad main aap sab baat kar lena. Ab Maa aaram karegi" said Dev as everyone nodded while Dev along with the sisters and Ishwari went to her room while Mamaji stayed back with Mamiji

"Radharani, meri behen abhi hospital se wapas aayi hai, aur kuch bhi aisa matt kehna jiss sey wo pareshan ho jaye" said Mamaji glaring as Mamiji who replied "Ji, lekin main to..." but Mamaji interrupted her "Bass, Aur kuch matt bolna warna mujhsey bura koi nahi hoga" said Mamaji in loud tone as Mamiji shuddered in fear and left for her room cursing under her breathe.

While in Ishwari's room Dev had just settled her on the bed and sat beside her which perplexed Ishwari.

"Arey Dev, Tu baith kyun gaya? Office nahi Jaana tujhey?" she asked as Dev replied

"Tujhey iss halat main chodd key main Office kaisey jaa sakta hoon Maa" he said as the sisters looked as always wondering at the unique mother-son bond

"Main Theek hoon Dev aur ghar pe sabhi hai mera khayal rakhney ke liye, tu office jaa" said Ishwari but Dev once again refused.

"Bhaiya, Aapka unn UK waley clients ke saath meeting hai naa aaj dopahar ko" she said as Dev slapped his head, he had completely forgotten about his meeting, he took his phone out to inform Tina to cancel the meeting.

"Kisey phone laga raha hai Dev?" asked Ishwari as he replied "Wo Tina ko Maa, Usey meeting cancel karney ke liye bol deta hoon" said Dev as Ishwari nodded her head in a negative.

"Dev, Kaam zaroori hai beta. Main kuch nahi Jaanti tujhey office jaana hi padega. Aur ye sab toh hai naa mera khayal rakhney ke liye. Main kuch nahi jaanti tu office jayega matlab jayega, main kuch nahi sunn na chahti" she admonished him as Dev was about to reply but was interrupted

"Maa, chodd na. Bhai ko lagta hai ki teri betiyan tera khayal nahi rakh saktey" said Neha sadly, she exactly knew her jibe would hit the mark which is what had exactly happened

"Accha, Accha zyada suna ney ki zaroorat nahi hai. Jaa raha hoon main" said Dev as he got up and touched Ishwari's feet for her blessings after which he left for his office.

As Dev was about to start his car his phone beeped with a message, he looked at it as a bright smile formed on his face for the message from Sonakshi.

Dev, can we meet today? the message read as it dawned upon Dev that he had not talked to her ever since she had left the hospital yesterday as he mentally chided himself, he quickly replied.

Sure Love, lets meet for lunch at my office he typed and started the car as he sped off to his office.

"Maa abb kaisi hai Dev?" asked Sonakshi as soon as she entered Dev's cabin while he just got up and took her in a bone-crushing hug.

"Wo abb theek hai Sonakshi" he said as she tightened the hug, oh how both had missed each other though it was just 12 hrs since they last met at the hospital but as they say when you are in love even a second away from each other feels like a lifetime and the same was true for these two as well.

"Accha Chalo abb hum khaatey hai. Mujhey pata hai tumney kal raat se kuch nahi khaya hoga" said Dev, he very well knew Sonakshi would not have eaten anything worrying for him and his mother

"Accha, Aapney kuch khaya kal raat se?" replied Sonakshi as Dev looked at her sheepishly, if he could understand her so could she in fact she understood him more than himself and that made him fall in love with her all over again, and it was nothing different for Sonakshi as well.

"Chaliye, Khaana khatey hai" said Sonakshi as both settled down and feeding each other they finished their lunch. Dev had already ordered her favourite dishes knowing that she was in no lesser stress than himself.

"Dev, Can I ask you something?" said Sonakshi, they were sitting on the sofa after finishing their lunch with Sonakshi laying her head down on his shoulder while he looped his hand around her waist. He still had an hour to go before his meeting.

"You do not have to take any permission for asking me anything Sonakshi" said Dev as Sonakshi took his free hand into hers and gripped it tightly drawing the strength from him as well as giving him the strength at the same time for she knew what she was about to ask would need both of them to stay strong.

"Dev, Kya aapko lagta hai ki Auntyji humarey se khush nahi hai" she asked slowly as Dev's breathe hitched, somewhere he knew she would ask him this question especially after last night but listening to her ask the same pricked his heart, in fact it hurt really bad but he knew he had to be honest with her for she had the right to know the truth, but before that he needed to know the truth himself.

"Tumhey aisa kyun lagta hai Sonakshi ki Maa humarey rishtey se khush nahi hai?" he asked as she lifted her head to look at him.

"Main aapko aapsey acchi tarah samajhti hoon Dev. Bhaley hi kal raat aapney kuch nahi kaha lekin aapkey hug ne aur phir aapney jo kaha uss sey main itna toh samajh gayi ki Auntyji ki tabiyat aur humara rishta kahin na kahin judey huey hai" said Sonakshi as Dev looked at her with tears glistening is eyes. As always, she understood him. He kissed her knuckles as she absorbed the feeling.

"Pata nahi Sonakshi. Lekin kal raat Doctor ki baatein phir Mamaji ne jo kaha aur phir tumharey Baba ka darr sab mujhey bhi darr lag raha hai" he said in a shaky voice as Sonakshi held his hand tightly trying to give him the strength.

"Kya Auntyji ne aapsey kuch kaha?" asked Sonakshi as Dev nodded in a negative.

"Main Auntyji se baat karoon?" asked Sonakshi as Dev looked at her, once again he was left speechless seeing her love for him. Here was a girl who was ready to take the initiative for their relationship.

"Nahi Sonakshi, Maa se pehle main baat karta hoon" he said as Sonakshi nodded in agreement while he just tightened his grip around her.

"Don't worry Dev, everything will be fine" she said and pecked his lips as Dev smiled and kissed her back.

"I LOVE YOU" he said as Sonakshi replied "I LOVE YOU TOO" as both sat in silence for some time in each other's hold trying to absorb their togetherness. After some time Sonakshi left while Dev proceeded for the meeting.

"Asha, Humey kya karna chahiye" asked Bijoy. It was a Sunday the next day, Asha had discussed with Bijoy about the talk which she had with Sonakshi which increased his worry, being a father, he could not see his daughter go through the pain but at the same time he knew that they had to be patient while dealing with the current situation.

"Mujhey pata nahi Bijoy. Bass itna pata hai ki jo bhi ho humey apney bachon ka saath dena hai" she said as Bijoy nodded, just then the doorbell rang as both looked at each other in surprise wondering who could be their so early in the morning. Asha was about to get up to open the door when Sonakshi who was descending the steps gestured her that she will open the door.

As she opened the door she was left stunned because standing before her was DEV.

BUT WHAT LEFT HER SPEECHLESS WAS THAT HE LOOKED COMPLETELY BROKEN.
