"Kaisa hai ab tu, Dev?" asked Ishwari in concern as Dev smiled at her while Sonakshi got up to leave the room understanding that the mother-son duo needed their privacy but the next moment she stopped in her tracks, FOR DEV CLUTCHED HER HAND GESTURING HER TO STAY BY HIS SIDE.

As soon as Sonakshi saw Dev's hand clutching hers she was caught by surprise, she did not expect it at that moment, especially after what had happened at her home before his accident. This one single gesture of his brought an unbridled joy in her heart for it showed that Dev was ready to fight for their relationship and she had to stand by him in this fight of theirs. She smiled at him as slight tears glistened her eyes.

On the other hand, Ishwari's heart wrenched seeing the scene unfolding before her while their hands were clutched their eyes never left each other, a smile playing on both their lips. She felt like an outsider before her own son as her insecurities increased but brushing those off she concentrated on Dev who was her priority right now, she could deal with Sonakshi later.

"Ye sab kaisey hua Dev?" she asked caressing his hairs as Dev looked at her and replied.

"Wo achanak ek gadi saamney aa gayi Maa aur main gadi sambhal nahi paaya" he said as Ishwari's face scrunched imagining the pain her son would have gone through at that moment while Sonakshi looked closely at Dev, she knew there was something more than what he had said, somewhere she felt that the accident might have occurred because of the decision he had taken with respect to their relationship, she had not asked him anything about the accident but decided to keep the questions to herself, Dev was fine and that was all she wanted at that moment.

"Kitni baar kaha hai tujhey ki sambhal ke gaadi chalaya kar ya phir humesha driver ko le jaya kar lekin tu hai ki koi baat sunta hi nahi" she said as Dev looked at guiltily while Sonakshi stood silent not wanting the interrupt the mother-son moment.

"Maa, Daant matt na mujhey. Dekh kitni chot lagi hai mujhey" said Dev trying to show his wounds to Ishwari knowing very well that it would do the trick while Sonakshi looked away and chuckled knowing very well what he was trying to do.

Ishwari hissed as she saw his wounds "Dekh toh kitni chot lagi hai. Lekin shukr hai bhagwan ka ki tujhey aur zyada kuch nahi hua" said Ishwari thanking god that he was safe.

"Waisey tu subah subah kahan jaa raha tha?" asked Ishwari as both Dev and Sonakshi looked at her in alarm, both did not want Ishwari to know that he was at the Bose house, both looked at each other pondering what to answer, Ishwari did not miss the look on their faces and knew something was amiss.

Luckily for Dev and Sonakshi before Ishwari could question them further the sisters along with the Tripathi family made way into the ward as everyone enquired about Dev's health, after a few moments Asha and Saurabh arrived, they had gone out for some time for having a cup of coffee as well as give Sonakshi a few moments alone with Dev.

"Asha Ji, aap logon ka bohot shukriya ki aap logon ne Dev ka itna khayal rakha" said Mamaji as soon as he saw them

"Arey Bhai sahab, Aap humey sharminda kar rahey hai. Dev bhi toh aakhir mere beta jaisa hi hai. In fact ye mera beta hi hai toh kya main hum itna nahi kar sakti apney bete ke liye" she said with a smile as everyone else smiled as they listened to her, while Ishwari forced herself to let a smile out.

A few moments the doctor arrived to check Dev, he informed them that he would be kept under observation for the next 12 hours to ensure that there were no issues or side affects of the medicines on his health. He also informed them that he could allow only a couple of people to stay with the patient in the night. While Ishwari wanted to stay with him but was bluntly refused by Dev himself as she herself was struggling with her health and needed rest as well after the travel this morning. While on the other hand, even Sonakshi wanted to stay with him but she knew that it would not be possible as Ishwari might misunderstand. After a lot of debate, it was decided that Mamaji and Riya would stay with in the night. The Bose family left after that followed by everyone else a couple of hours later.

The next day afternoon Dev arrived home, after the customary Aarti done by Ishwari for his well-being he was escorted to his room where he settled down to rest. Ishwari instructed everyone not to disturb him and his mobile was taken away from him as well so that he would not concern himself with office work, Riya had already informed Tina about Dev who after hearing about his accident panicked but was relieved once she knew that he was fine. She asked Riya to inform Dev that he need not worry about work and she would handle everything at the office.

On the other side, Sonakshi had decided to go to the hospital to consult with the Doctor about his health as well as know his dietary requirements for the next few days so that she could prepare his diet chart and decided to visit Dev after that.

As soon as Sonakshi entered Ishwari Niwas she heard someone speak out loud.

"Badi Jaldi aa gayi Doctorni aaj" taunted Radharani, even though now everyone knew about Sonakshi's relationship with Dev she could not get herself to agree to it, a middle-class girl would never become the daughter-in-law of this house and she was determined to make sure that it does not happen. And her biggest weapon in this was none other than Ishwari, she very well knew about her insecurities and also knew how to use that to her advantage.

"Auntyji Wo...." said Sonakshi but before she could continue someone interrupted her.

"Radharani tujhey badi padi hai ki Sonakshi kab aati hai aur kab nahi" said Mamaji very well knowing the intentions of his wife.

"Ji..Ji..aisi baat nahi hai. Wo toh itni der ho gayi thi toh main iss liye pooch rahi thi" she stammered very well knowing the anger of her husband.

"Haan toh agar wo der se aayi hai toh kuch toh wajah hogi naa. Bina wajah jaaney tana marney lagi tu. Ye aakhri baar keh raha hoon tujhsey, baaz aa jaa apni harkaton se" he said angrily as Radharani gulped in fear while Sonakshi looked on.

"Waisey Sona beta mill aayi tu doctor se?" asked Mamaji as Sonakshi nodded in agreement, she had already informed Riya about her visit to the hospital who in turn had informed Mamaji about it.

Just then Ishwari came out of her room listening to the commotion outside, "Kya hua Jiji?" she asked as instead of Radharani, Mamaji replied.

"Kuch nahi Ishwari, Wo Sonakshi doctor ke paas gayi thi Dev ke baarey main poochney ke liye" he said as Ishwari turned towards Sonakshi.

"Kya kaha Doctor ne, koi chinta ki baat toh nahi hai na?" she asked in a concerned tone as Sonakshi replied.

"Nahi Auntyji Koi chinta ki baat nahi hai" she said and added "Bas unkey khaaney ka dhyan rakhna padega taaki wo jaldi se theek ho jaye" she finished as Ishwari nodded in agreement

"Main unka Diet chart bana deti hoon Auntyji, Agle kuch din unhey ussi ke hisab se khana padega" she said but before Ishwari could respond Radharani spoke.

"Ab Tum humey bataogi ki humarey bachey ke liye kya sahi hai aur kya nahi" she spoke unable to control herself drawing irritated looks from both Mamaji and Ishwari.

"Radharani, Doctor Sonakshi hai ya Tum?" asked Mamaji and added "Baar baar samjhaney par bhi tujhey samajh nahi aata na" he said as she replied "Ji...main toh bass..." but before that Ishwari interrupted her.

"Bhabhi, Bhaiya sahi toh keh rahey hai. Sonakshi ko pata hai ki iss waqt Dev ko kya khana chahiye aur kya nahi. Usey apna kaam karney dijiye" she said in an irritated tone which was not missed by anyone, though she had her apprehensions and insecurities about Dev's relationship with Sonakshi, but it was not more than her son's health and right now that was her primary concern.

"Sona beta, tum jao Dev ke liye chart prepare kar lo aur kichu se kehkey wo banwa lo" said Mamaji as Sonakshi nodded and proceeded to the kitchen while everyone retired to their rooms.

Around an hour later Sonakshi with help of Kichu had prepared soup and salad for Dev, it was time for Dev's medicines but he needed to have food before that, she went to Ishwari's room to inform the same but seeing her resting she decided not to disturb her and take the food herself to Dev's room as even she had not met him since yesterday.

As Sonakshi entered Dev's room the scene in front of her warmed her heart, Dev was sleeping peacefully with a smile on his face while his hairlocks fell on his forehead. She slowly tiptoed towards the bed and kept the food on the table. Settling herself down on the chair kept beside the bed she ruffled his hairs as he turned towards her in his sleep catching her hand and keeping it under his chin as Sonakshi was surprised, she at once knew that he was awake.

She slowly leaned forward and quickly pecked his lips as Dev's eyes shot open in surprise, a smile adorned on his lips while Sonakshi blushed.

"If I had known it before that by falling sick I would be showered with so much love and kisses then I would have fallen ill before itself" he said as Sonakshi blushed hard but the next moment she smacked his left shoulder as Dev yelped in pain.

"Dev, are you fine?" panicked Sonakshi rubbing the area that she hit as Dev replied, "Now I am fine" and winked at her as she hit him again.

"By the way why are you late? I was waiting for you" said Dev as Sonakshi told him the reason for her late arrival.

"Now come get up and have this soup" she said as Dev scrunched his face, clearly indicating that he did not like it but Sonakshi was adamant.

"No Dev, this is good for your health" she said as Dev once again nodded in a No like a child and made a puppy face knowing that Sonakshi would fall for it, but she exactly knew what he was trying to do.

"Ok, let's make a pact. If you have your food and medicines without any tantrums, I will give you a gift" she said as Dev asked her "And what's that?" while she replied "The same gift which you got a few moments ago" as Dev realized what it was, he quickly took the food plate and started eating as Sonakshi laughed and said "You are such a kid Dev". Dev finished his food and medicines quickly and as promised Sonakshi did give him the gift she had promised.

After a few moments Sonakshi rested her head on Dev's left shoulder which was not hurt as both savoured the feeling of togetherness.

"Dev, What were you thinking when you met with the accident" she asked as he tightened his grip on her shoulder

"Nothing Sonakshi, but why are you asking?" he said as she replied "Really Dev, do you want me to believe you. You had announced your decision about wanting to end our relationship and right after that you met with the accident. Do you really think I will believe if you say that you were thinking about nothing?" she asked looking at him but he turned his face away to hide the tears that were forming in his eyes but Sonakshi knew him more than himself, she turned his face towards her and wiping his tears kissed his eyes while Dev could not control himself and pecked her lips.

"Tell me Dev, what were you thinking?" she asked again

"I was thinking about us Sonakshi, about the hurt I had caused you because of my fear and helplessness" he said as Sonakshi just listened to him waiting for him to continue, she wanted him to let go of all his doubts and fears.

"I did not want to hurt you Sonakshi but then Maa's & Mamaji's words increased my fear, I felt I could not be with you and I felt by holding on to you I was doing injustice to you and your family. That's why I took that decision, but I forgot that by keeping you away I was not only hurting myself but you as well" he said as tears flowed from both their eyes.

"Dev, Did you not believe that our love would cross these hurdles?" she asked as Dev vigorously nodded his head in a disagreement "No Sonakshi, I believed in our love but I did not believe in myself. I felt I did not deserve your love" he said

"Never say that Dev, Anyone believes you or not I believe in you and I know that our love will cross all these hurdles" she said in confidence as he tightened his grip trying to give all his love to her while she held on to him, after a few moments she got up and kissed his forehead before she left.

But unknown to them two people had watched the last scene that had unfolded, and it was none other than Ishwari and Radharani.

"DEKHA JIJI, YE BANGALAN KAISEY HUMAREY DEV KO AAP SE CHEEN NA CHAHTI HAI"

I know you might find the story boring but this story is mainly to show the various POVs of different characters and how they find themselves in difficult situation and try to handle it, so my sincere apologies if you find it boring and feel you have wasted your precious time reading it, really sorry☹️☹️.
