Yeonjun and Soobin always understood each other.

When tired from busy schedules, sad from missing home, or just feeling down one could always tell with the other. Being the leader, Soobin tried hard to mask his emotions but Yeonjun could always see right through it. And when Yeonjun convincingly smiled through his pain, Soobin understood. The two would begin to confide in each other, finding comfort in one another's presence. Maybe it was because they were the two eldest members or because they spent so much time together- but somehow they just understood.

There wasn't always a need for words.

If Yeonjun had a bad day after seeing hurtful comments, coming to Soobin with shaky hands, Soobin would sit beside him offering out an arm for support. They didn't need to say anything to know it'd be okay. One day, Soobin approached Yeonjun with tears in his eyes. It was too much, it was all too much.

"I-I can't be here anymore" he whispered, with a shaky breath.

"...Here? As in...in this room?" Yeonjun questioned softly, looking at the walls of their dorm, that in Soobin's eyes seemed to be inching closer and closer.

Soobin honestly didn't know if he really just meant the dorm or... He nodded his head, shaking away the other thoughts. Yeonjun looked at him with all the care in the world. He thought to himself for a minute before responding, an idea crossing his mind. He searched his pocket for his car keys and held it up with a soft smile.

"Do you want to go for a drive?"

That's how it all started.

Long endless drives down the empty roads, the sun lost in the clouds with nothing in their heads except the dark sky that surrounded them. Yeonjun's hand tightly wrapped around the steering wheel, never missing a chance to glance at Soobin who laid contently in the passenger seat. The only noise being the wind seeping through the slightly opened window or the staticky radio playing a tune. It started off slow but It began happening more frequently if it ever became too much. Anytime any of them couldn't handle it anymore, a single look to the other and they'd be on the road. Away from all their issues with only the two of them.

With the both of them being so close to one another, it was difficult not to fall for each other. The two boys were in sync in practically anything they did, together no matter what happened. Though, each of them doubted the other would ever feel the same.

And that leads us to now, a car parked in an empty parking lot, the sun just making its return, painting a beautiful sunset, and Yeonjun and Soobin silently staring up at the view. Yeonjun was the first to break that silence.

"...sometimes I feel like I just can't. Being an idol...it's hard." He admitted, solemnly looking out the window.

Soobin nodded in understanding, thinking for a moment before he answered.

"I get that, I mean, it is hard, with the whole world watching you and being expected to do so much.."

Yeonjun hummed in agreement. "It's like I can never be enough for anyone. No matter what I do, it could be better." Yeonjun said, his words settling in like melting ice.

There was a moment of silence but it wasn't uncomfortable. Soobin slowly reached his hand out across the car, slightly brushing the back of Yeonjun's hand which laid on his knee. Soobin felt his heart thump as their hands connected. Yeonjun's cheeks tinted red, whether it was due to the cold or Soobin's hand held tightly in between his, he was unsure.

"You're enough Yeonjun. You're more than enough for me, I..don't know what I'd do without you." A small smile grew across Yeonjun's face as he faced the other boy.

"Sometimes.." Soobin started after a bit of silence. "I feel like I'll never be fit to lead. Everyone assumes I know everything..but it's like I'm not giving everyone what they deserve.."

Yeonjun squeezes his hand giving him silent assurance.

"You don't have to know everything, honestly, none of us do." Yeonjun sadly smiled at his last thought.

Really none of them knew what they were doing, but at least they were doing something, right?

"But you're an amazing leader Soobin. You do more than enough for everyone. I hope you never forget how much you mean to us-...to me." He continued, still looking into the other boy's eyes.

Soobin felt his heart race as Yeonjun reached over and moved a strand of hair falling over his face. The sun was now completely hidden, instead twinkling stars took over the sky. Dozens of them stretched across the dark sky and shone over the roof of the car. The two boys couldn't help but look up at the beauty before them. Completely at peace with their hands intertwined, the fresh scent of the air, and the blinking of the stars.

"Hey, I bet I can find 'Little sipper'!" Soobin exclaimed, looking at the galaxy.

Yeonjun looked at him with a bewildered expression and teasing smile. "

"'Little sipper'??" He questioned, with a laugh.

Soobin looked back at him with a confused pout.

"Yeah, isn't that what you call the constellation?" He asked, clueless.

"Soobin- n-no- it's the Little Dipper!" Yeonjun exclaimed in between laughs.

Yeonjun's laugh was pretty, and Soobin would do anything to hear it on replay.

As the realization set in Soobin couldn't help but catch Yeonjun's contagious laugh.

"But yeah I think I see the 'Little Sipper' right there!" Yeonjun pointed to the window, displaying the stars.

"Shut up!" Soobin giggled at his own mistake, unable to maintain an angry expression.

For the rest of the time, the two leaned on each other and pointed out constellations or shapes they found in the stars. Yeonjun still giggling at Soobin's use of the word 'Little Sipper' from time to time and Soobin blushing in embarrassment, still laughing along. The two boy's sat closely next to one another, basking in one another's presence.

Soobin tried admiring the beautiful stars in front of him but somehow found himself distracted. He turned his head, now ditching the stars to look to the greater beauty in front of him; Yeonjun. Feeling Soobin's eyes on him, Yeonjun shifted his view to Soobin, matching the amount of love in his gaze. At that moment something clicked. They knew it was more than friendship. They both knew that. They'd just never said it before, but did they need to? Why would they when there was a more effective way to get the point across? This time, Yeonjun took Soobin's hand in his.

"Yeonjun..." Soobin breathed, staring into Yeonjun's love dazed eyes.

"...I-" Soobin was at a loss for words. Any coherent sentence he once had in his mind now vanished.

But one thing was clear.

Yeonjun gently placed his free hand on Soobin's cheek. The two boys grew closer until the gap between them closed, effectively shutting Soobin up. It felt like hours but it also felt like seconds. Time was irrelevant when it was the two of them. The warmth of Soobin's lips on his was enough to make Yeonjun forget about the cold outside.

"I love you too, Soobin." Yeonjun said, breaking away from the kiss.

Soobin fondly smiled, his heart beating out of his chest. He launched himself onto Yeonjun and wrapped his arms tightly around him, leaving no room for escape. Yeonjun quickly reciprocated the hug, warmth exploding from his chest.

Closing his eyes he whispered, "I love you, so so much Yeonjun." Soobin finally moved his head to look up at Yeonjun, his arms still wrapped around him. Yeonjun held his chin up, taking in Soobin's beauty as if he'd disappear in a mere second. The sky twinkling within each other's eyes.

"I'd do anything for you, you know that?" Soobin blushed at the confession, responding with a kiss to Yeonjun's cheek.

Yeonjun took the opportunity to wrap the other boy in another hug. They both melted under the warm embrace. They both knew that if they had each other nothing could touch them. The world didn't matter anymore. For once, everything would be okay.

"I'd drive to the end of the world and back if it meant I had you."
