(Readers POV)

I woke up to see I was still in my sleeping bag. I looked over to see Yang asleep, still with her arm around me. I gently picked up her arm and putted it on the ground. I got up and looked around.

(Y/N): I guess I should wake her up.

I knelt down and shock her. She woke up and looked around. She looked at me and smiled.

Yang: Good morning.

(Y/N): Morning. Get up, we have to get ready for our initiation test.

Yang: That's very nice of you to wake me up.

(Y/N): I just don't want you to fall behind.

I stood up and walked to where the locker room was. I found my locker. I got out my clothes and changed quickly. After changing, I looked at myself in the mirror.

(Y/N): I'm not looking too bad.

I said to myself. I pulled out my gauntlets and put them on. I extended them into their shield form. I looked and checked them. They seemed to be fine. I turned them back into their gauntlet form.

(Y/N): They are working just fine.

I closed my locker and started to walk away.

(Y/N): Wait. I don't know where to go.

Yang: Maybe I could help with your problem.

I turned around and Yang was giving me a smile.

(Y/N): Like I need your help.

I looked away from Yang.

Yang: I don't know. It sounded like you really need help. If you just paid attention to what was said yesterday, you wouldn't need help.

(Y/N): I will just ask Ruby.

I walked past her and found Ruby looking at her scythe.

(Y/N): Hey Ruby.

Ruby: Hi (Y/N). Did you need something?

(Y/N): Do you know where the initiation is taking place?

Ruby: Yeah. It at the cliffside at the Emerald Forest.

(Y/N): Thanks.

I walked away and passed Yang.

Yang: You still needed help.

I scoffed and walked away from her.

(Time skip)

All the first year students were standing on a cliffside. We are all standing on small platforms.

Ozpin: Today you will be proving what you can do. In the forest, there is a temple at the northern side of the forest. You will be retrieving a relic from this temple. You will have to bring the relic back here.

This test seems easy enough.

Ozpin: Once you land, the first person you make eye contact with will be your partner for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So choice someone that you can work well with. Now, any questions?

Jaune: I have one. How are we going to get into the forest?

Ozpin: Like this.

The platforms that were under us suddenly sprung up and launched everyone towards the forest. I turned my gauntlets into their shield form. I was falling at high speeds. I got close to a tree and I raised one of my shields up. I broke through the tree, slowing me down. I grabbed onto a nearby branch. I swung myself around and I jumped to the floor. I landed on my feet.

(Y/N): Nailed it.

I looked around and I started to walk north. There was a bunch of trees and bushes around.

(Y/N): I need to find someone to team up with. Who can I team up with? There is Ruby, There is that one boy that puked in the garbage can, and there is that Weiss girl I saw last night.

I heard rustling in the bushes. I got into a fighting stance. A Grimm jumped out from the bushes and jumped at me.

Yang: I got this one!

Yang dashed from the side. She punched the Grimm, sending it into a nearby tree. She looked over at me and we made eye contact.

Yang: Looks like we are teammates.

(Y/N): I hate my life.

I have to be on a team with her?! I walked past her and continued to head north.

Yang: You can at least thank me for saving your life.

(Y/N): You didn't save anything.

She followed behind me.

Yang: You really are in a terrible mood, aren't you?

(Y/N): Of course I am.

Yang: Is it because I took your kill?

(Y/N): It's because I am in a team with you.

Yang gasped and ran in front of me.

Yang: I know we are rivals and everything, but being in a team won't be that bad.

(Y/N): I want to surpass you, not team up.

Yang: Surpass? Are you saying that I'm already above you?

(Y/N): No.

Yang: Are you too chicken to prove me wrong?

(Y/N): You want to settle this now?

Yang: As much as I want to, we can't. At best we will tie, we will be out of energy, and we die by Grimm.

She's right. Damn it! I want to drop out already though.

(Y/N): This will be the only time that I will agree with you.

Yang smiled at me.

Yang: Let's get going then.

Yang started to walk in front of me.

(Time skip)

Me and Yang walked out into an opening. We found some ruins.

Yang: Looks like we found the place.

We walked up to it. I saw a bunch of chess pieces on top of pedestals.

Yang: Which on should we choose?

(Y/N): Does it really matter?

Yang: I just wanted your opinion.

She looked at them and picked up a white knight.

Yang: A cute pony.

She showed it to me.

(Y/N): Cool.

We were about to leave, but Ruby showed up by falling from the sky.

Ruby: Ow. Hey Yang, (Y/N).

I looked up to see a Nevermore circling around us.

Weiss: How could you leave me?!

Ruby: I said jump.

I heard rustling from the nearby bushes. I looked over to see a Grimm. An orange haired girl was riding it. The Grimm fell over and died.

Nora: Man, it's broken.

Ren: That wasn't your best idea.

A man in green walked into view.

Yang: She rode here on a Grimm?

(Y/N): She's crazy.

I heard screaming from above. I looked up to see Weiss falling. I walked forward slightly and held out my hands. She landed in my arms, but she continued to scream. I dropped her and she stopped.

Weiss: Hey! Don't just drop me like that!

(Y/N): Would you have liked it if I just let you hit the ground?

Weiss: Whatever.

She stood up and walked to the ruins to get a chess piece.

(Y/N): Come on Yang. We have our relic. We can leave now.

I started to leave, but I heard more screaming. I looked forward to see the vomit kid and a red haired girl run out the forest. A scorpion Grimm ran out, chasing them.

Jaune: That thing is on us!

(Y/N): Great, now we have two big Grimm to deal with.

Yang: Is (Y/N) scared?

She said in a mocking voice.

(Y/N): Never mind. Let's kill those things.
