Antwon's POV

"Antwon, wake up. You promised me that you'd take me to pond today." Kyra says.

Opening my eyes I see my fiancé standing next to the bed holding her stomach. Ever since she found out that she's having a baby she does that.

She wants everyone to know that she's pregnant and how lucky she is to have a guy like me.

A smile spreads across my face when I see the light from the sun hit her. It makes her look like she has a halo about her head. "I'm awake. Let me get changed and then we can head to the pond."

"What about breakfast? I'm hungry and we have no food in the house."

I laugh. "We can grab something while we're out and then we'll go grocery shopping."

She groans. "You know I hate shopping. This is your place. You should stock it up."

I pull her onto the bed. "If you move in with me we can have it stocked all the time. It's about time we take the next step in our relationship. We're going to have a kid in seven months."

She looks at her bare ring finger. "I won't be moving in here until you put a ring on finger."

I claim her lips with mine, taking her mind off the ring that I'm supposed to give her. Leaning over to the draw next to the bed I grab a velvet box out of it. Opening it I say. "Kyra Melissa Caiden. Will you marry me?"

"Yes," she nods. Tears begin to fall down her face and she wipes them away. "This is perfect, Antwon."

Taking the ring out of the box I slide it on her finger. She leans forward and claims my lips with hers. Pulling away she says. "I love you, Antwon."

My heart begins to race as I open my eyes and look around the room I'm in.

I haven't thought of Kyra since she took her life nine years ago.

Climbing out of bed I quickly change into a pair of jeans and a shirt. I head downstairs to the kitchen and hear Cole talking to Julia about a 1969 Ford Mustang.

Entering the kitchen with Liam they're conversation comes to a halt and an awkward silence falls upon the room.

Cole looks at me trying to make me have a conversation with my sister, but I'm not in the mood to talk to her after dreaming about my dead fiancé.

Julia: Hey, Dad.

Dad: Hey, Pumpkin. I need your brothers and you home ASAP. There's things we need to talk about.

Julia: I have an interview that I can't miss. Can I come by after that?

Dad: Congrats on the interview. It's good to see that you're planting roots in this city again.

Julia: I know. I'll give you to Liam. He'll let you know if he can make it.

She hands the phone to Liam and he talks to Dad for a bit.

Liam hangs up and hands the phone back to Julia. You could give the interview a miss and be there for the family."

Julia slaps him across the face. "Just because you have free time doesn't mean that everyone is able to stop what they're doing to run home to Mommy and Daddy. I need to get myself set up here too. Sometimes I need to be selfish and look out for myself. Just like Antwon and you." Grabbing the food off the table she walks out of the room.

I see Cole's hands form into fists as he looks at Liam. "I've told you two countless of times to be nice to her and you keep on ignoring me. You can fix your own breakfast. I've got someone to keep company." Cole walks out of the room without saying another word.

Liam turns towards me. "Do you want to grab something to eat out and then head over to the parents' house?"

"Sure, you know they're not going to tell us what's going on until Julia comes home."

"I know." Liam grabs his keys and heads to the door. "Are you going to tell her the truth about Kyra?"

"I have to. Everyone is telling her what's going on with them. It's time she learns the ugly truth about our Uncle."

He places his hand on my shoulder. "You've never told anyone what really happened. Will you be able to share the entire truth today?"

"I have to. Besides, I owe it to Kyra and myself to tell the truth about what happened to her. It was hard for me to tell you the entire truth back then, but now Julia's back she needs to know what Uncle Kevin is capable of."

Liam and I have been at our parents' house since 9:30 and we're still waiting for our sister to come home from the interview.

I'm glad she's doing something for herself, but I hate that we have to wait for her to get home before Dad tells us what's wrong with Mom.

Pulling my phone out of my pocket I send Julia a message.

Me: Hurry up and get home. Dad wants to tell us something and I don't want to wait any longer for you to get home.

I stare at my phone hoping she will send me a message back, but it never comes through.

Liam and I sit on the lounge outside and wait for Julia to come. Looking at the driveway I see Julia's car pull into the driveway.

She opens the door and steps out.

"Finally," I yell. "Now we can find out what's wrong with Mom." I lead the way into the house leaving my brother and sister outside.

Walking into the house I see mom and dad sitting on the couch and they look at us as we enter the room.

Mom starts laughing and then she says. "Well if it isn't my lonely children. Coming back home to me. Too bad you're not wanted here."

Dad touches mom's hand and he whispers something to her. He looks at us as Liam and Julia takes a seat. "I'm glad you're all here. There's something I need to tell you about your mother."

Julia looks at him. "Dad after you tell us about what's wrong with Mom I want to know why you're all so angry. I know there's things you haven't told me about while I was gone and I want everything in the air at once."

Dad nods. "That's fair." He looks at the three of us and says. "Your mother has a brain tumor. She needs to get it removed ASAP, but she's afraid to go to the specialist. I have to take her next week and organize a day for it to be removed."

"I'll come with you, Dad." I say. "I want to be there every step of the way."

Dad smiles. "Thanks, son. I'll need someone to drive us around. I don't think I'll be able to do it on my own.

Julia has tears rolling down her face and she doesn't say anything. She looks at Dad and says. "Is that why Mom's been mean to me since I arrived home?"

"Yes, it seems the tumor is pressing on a part of your mother's brain and it's making her have unusual outbursts."

"At least I know why she's treating me differently. Can you tell me what's going on with you, Daddy?"

Dad looks at her. "It was a year after you left that we started to notice that some money was disappearing from the vaults. A couple months later our clients found out some of their stuff went missing. I had to find out what was going on and I hired someone to investigate what was happening, but by the time the investigation finished all the money my parents left was gone and the private investigator told me who did it. Kevin, my brother, was the one to take everything from me and I was broke. I lost everything until someone came along with money and told me that he will help us. That person was..."

"Cole Mason," Julia says. "He told me they much."

A smile spreads across his face. "I really like that boy."

Julia stands up and she walks over to Dad. "I'm sorry you went through all that Daddy. I wish you called me though. I would have come home."

Dad wraps his arms and her and says. "I couldn't let you miss school to help us. Besides, you needed to live your life away from your parents. Your brothers did that for a while, but they wanted to come to come home and save money."

She pulls away from Dad. "Until Uncle Kevin stole from them too."

Dad looks at me. "You should tell her what he did to you, Antwon. You're the one that lost a lot because of that man."
