She's so gone — Naomi Scott

While Damon, and Stefan tried to figure out how to break Elena's sire bond in New Orleans, and all the girls had a pow wow, Gianina stayed home. She was busy thinking about her past life, the one in New York, where she was happy. It wasn't all sunshines and rainbows the entire time though, no, before, she was having a similar problem to the one Damon had right now.

In the early 1970s...

"You figured out who did it?" Gianina questioned with a raised brow. "It" was putting shards of glass in her pointe shoes, and Gia was speaking to a girl she had turned.

She had noticed, to her advantage, this girl did whatever she wanted and needed, unprovoked, and it proved to be very useful to this humanity-less vampire.

"I did more than that." Alaia took the hand of the Salvatore girl and lead her to one of the side rooms of the concert hall, revealing one of their fellow ballerinas unconscious on the ground.

"Is she dead?" Gianina kicked the girl laying on the ground, and a second later she heard the sound of her heart letting out a beat. "That's unfortunate."

"I was waiting on you, I remember you saying you wanted to see her suffer for what she tried to do." The sired girl spoke, in that very moment, the third ballerina, Kimberly waking up scared.

"I didn't really care that much, I just want her dead." Gianina shrugged as she looked Kim up and down, the woman too stunned to speak at all.

It all happened fast, too fast. Within a second, Alaia was running towards Kimberly, and snapping her neck. Kim fell limp to the ground, and though Gianina was quite shocked, she showed no emotion towards what had happened.

It was hard for Alaia to understand this, seeing as all she wanted was for the Salvatore woman to love her, respect her, need her.

"Make sure nobody sees this." Gia spoke, pointing towards the body. Her face never flicked into the kind smile she once wore, and sadness never touched her features either.

Alaia considered that a fail, in her long term goal to gain Gianina's humanity back, above all, thats what she really would have wanted.

It would take her a very long time to make sure that could happen.

Gianina let out a sigh as she recalled her rocky past to herself. The memory of her humanity being off in the seventies, the memory of Alaia had appeared back in her brain as if it had happened yesterday. It was entirely possible the Elena/Damon situation had triggered this, but Gia felt there was something more to it.

Like something was coming, something that had to do with her past, something, or someone.

"I told you, nothing you do is going to make my humanity come back. I didn't care about anyone before I turned it off, thats why I did it. This? This life is much better." The Salvatore woman spoke, her voice full of what could only be read as a sense of relief.

"You cared about me, I know you did. We had something, Gia." Alaia insisted, feeling tears prick at her eyes.

"Hm, maybe. That's all gone now, though." Gianina ran her finger gently under the other womans chin, a slight grin on her face. "Get used to it, darling."

Alaia closed her eyes and turned away, a part of her wanting to savor the feeling of Gia's skin on her own, and the other knowing this wasn't the girl she once loved. She had stayed in New York for the Salvatore woman, she became a vampire for her. How could she treat her like this now? It felt all wrong.

"No." The girl denied, shaking her head. "No, I will not get used to it."

"Excuse me?" Gianina asked with a raised brow.

"You said yourself to turn on someones humanity, they need something to care about. You cared about me. To get you back, maybe you have to loose me." Alaia inhaled, feeling butterflies form in her stomach. "Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't, I don't know but, I can't do this anymore. I can't be minion to a woman who doesn't even care if I live or die."

"So. Go." The Salvatore woman shrugged, and backed away from her fellow ballerina slowly. "You're only hurting yourself, not me."

"Yeah, well, it's either I keep getting hurt by you, or I hurt myself by leaving." Alaia let out a frustrated laugh. "You've told me about your past, i've helped you through your issues but, guess what? You're my Katherine."

"Don't say her name." Gia felt her jaw clench, and fists form into a slight ball.

"Why? Does it make you feel something to know you're just like the person who broke your heart the most? Hm?" Alaia was laying it out on the line, and she couldn't stop now. "Answer me!"

"I— I don't care..." Gianina closed her eyes, shaking her head back and forth. "No, I don't care."

"Someone broke your heart a hundred years ago, and now everyone is still suffering from it today. You're w—" The Salvatore woman reached out, and grabbed the woman who loved her by the neck, restricting her breathing.

"Stop." Gia insisted.

Alaia's mouth closed, and she nodded her head, gasping for air.

Gianina threw her across the empty stage, and Alaia scrambled to her feet in fear. In a matter of seconds, she was running off in the other direction, and out of the concert hall, leaving the Salvatore woman alone. If she left, Gianina would gain her humanity back, and Alaia knew that's what Gia wanted, what she really needed.

The Salvatore threw herself onto the ground on her back, and stared up at the ceiling. She was left wondering if she could really be like Katherine? To be so careless of someone else's feeling but, no, she couldn't think about that. She had no humanity.

She didn't care.

It wasn't till a day later, that Gianina went to Alaia's empty and abandoned apartment did she realize that she did in fact care. She finally let herself feel, and cry, and heal but, Alaia never came back to her. From that day, until the day she received a call from her brothers Katherine was alive, she worked on herself, and her career.

She couldn't help but notice Mystic Falls had brought that terrible side of her again.
