Gasoline — Halsey

The Salvatore siblings were all completely done with each other. Stefan had started his personal vendetta against Klaus, Gia had started to ignore anyone from the Mystic Falls group besides Jeremy entirely, and Damon? He was simply drinking his feelings away.

Gianina had gotten an apartment by the town square, and no, she didn't compel it. The girl was absolutely tired of having to do things the vampire way, she missed how she used to be in New York. Carefree, successful, happy, she was starting to question why she had come in the first place.

The topic that had once been fragile when she arrived, the topic that made her come in the first place had turned earth shattering during her time back because, if one person knew how to break the heart of Gianina Salvatore, it was Katherine Pierce.

"I'm ready to work with you, all the way." Gia let out a sigh. "But this doesn't mean i'll be loyal to you forever."

To get her mind off all those things? She needed to start earning respect.

"I don't expect it to be, not yet at least." Klaus grinned, taking the brunette's hand into his own as he placed a chaste kiss on it. "Now, why don't we pay your dear older brother a visit?"

"I don't have much of a choice." Gianina replied, her mind lingering on the way the mans hand felt on her own. "Do you have some type of plan? Or are we going in blind?"

"You'll see." The Mikaelson man opened up the door, stepping aside for the girl to walk in before him. "Ladies first."

"Thank you." Gia narrowed her eyes at the man in thought before walking into The Grill, immediately spotting Elena and Damon getting cozy.

He really never wasted much time trying to steal the loves of his siblings lives.

"He obviously has no concept of family." Klaus spoke up, shaking the brunette away from her thoughts. "Not like you."

"I don't want to talk about it, okay?" Gia looked upwards, sucking in the tears that threaten to fall from her eyes before she straightened herself out. "Are we ready?"

The Mikaelson man nodded, understanding in his eyes before he started to approach Damon and Elena.

"Don't mind us." He called out, leaning on a stair railing as Gianina stopped beside him, placing her hands on her hips.

"You going to do this in The Grill, in front of everyone? and use my sister to help you? It's a little beneath you, don't you think?" Damon asked, narrowing his eyes.

"Him? Using me?" The Salvatore girl laughed, shaking her head. "No, me and Klausy here? We are the best of friends, brother."

"Besides, I don't know what you're talking about. We just came to our local pub to drink with our mate." The two of them looked back to one of the hybrids that Klaus had made, both of them smiling, he had been trailing them for protection most of the day. "Get a round, then, would you, Tony?"

"Cute, isn't he, Elena?" Gianina asked, her eyes focusing on the doppelgänger who had been followed by Tony that morning.

She stayed completely silent, obviously stunned.

"I'm surprised you stayed in town long enough for happy hour, Klaus." Damon said through his teeth, his eyes angry.

"My sister seems to be missing, need to sort that out." The Mikaelson man threw his arms around the Salvatore girl. "In fact, you are lucky I quite enjoy your sister, or else I would think of using her as leverage."

"He wouldn't care, Damon cares about two things. Damon, and any Doppelgänger that happens to give him some attention." Gianina commented, her face doing it's best not to twitch.

Being able to control all of her swirling emotions after her humanity came back on had been hard. Seeing her brother, and a girl that looked exactly like her ex had triggered her in a way, and yes, that meant she was going to be a bitch. She didn't really care about hurting her brother's feelings anymore.

"Sister? Cute, blonde bombshell, psycho? Shouldn't be too hard to find." The eldest Salvatore replied, ignoring his sisters previous comment.

If he acknowledged it, he'd realize it was true.

"Truth is, I rather like your little town. Thinking I might fancy a home here." Klaus walked up to Damon, standing in the mans face. "I image you are wondering how does this affect you, and my answer is not in the slightest. As long as I get what I want and everyone behaves, you can go in living your lives however you choose. You have my word."

"Why are you helping him?" Elena asked, looking pleadingly into Gia's eyes.

This time, the girl wouldn't fold.

"Friends help friends, something you and my brothers are obviously forgetting." Gianina walked down the steps, her feet taking her right in front of the Gilbert girl. "Help my friend, why don't you? Then, you can go back sleeping with whatever brother of mine you choose."

Elena cleared her throat lightly at the proximity of the hybrid, clearing her throat once again as she looked over to Klaus, "What more could you possibly want?"

"Well, for starters, you can tell me where I might find Stefan." The Mikaelson man started.

"... and how the hell he got away." Gianina added in.

"Stefan skipped town the second he saved your ass, Klaus. I am assuming Katherine helped him, she's nowhere to be found either." Damon replied, stepping between his sister and Elena.

That hurt Gia as she bit harshly into her lip. Stefan and Katherine, it was always going to be them. No matter how much she tried, how many moments they had together, no matter how much love she gave it was always him.

She was not going to accept that would be the rest of her life, she wouldn't be second anymore.

"Well, you see, that's a shame." Klaus launched a dart towards it's board, hitting it dead center. "Your brother stole from me. I need him found so I can take back what's mine."

"That sounds like a Klaus and Stefan problem." Elena cut in, her face smug as she spoke.

"Well, you are supposed to be the love of his life and Damon is supposed to be his favorite sibling so, now it's a Damon and Elena problem." Gianina plastered on a fake smile. "Funny how that works, isn't it?"

"Consider this us broadening the scope, sweetheart." Klaus spoke lightly, leaving Elena and Damon speechless.

"Well, looks like my work is done here." Gia clapped her hands together. "See you around, brother."

Gia burst into Klaus' house furiously, her fists clenched as she walked through the main floor. Nobody tried to stop her, she was an original hybrid afterall, a lot more powerful than them, and they weren't stupid. The reason she was here though was, the Mikaelson man had thought it was a good idea to mess with Jeremy.

It wasn't.

"Gia hey—" the hybrid girl brushed right past Tyler, knowing that if she stopped, she would probably hurt him.

"Not in the mood, Lockwood." The Salvatore girl didn't let him get a word in as she walked up the many steps leading up the stairs, the girl practically fuming out of her ears.

"I assumed i'd be seeing you soon." Klaus commented, a grin on his face as he seen the girl approaching him.

Gianina didn't speak, she simply grabbed the man by the throat, pushing him against the wall. His feet lifted from the ground, her raising him upwards as she narrowed her eyes. He kept a smile on his face, not letting her know that he couldn't breathe.

"The one person I told you to leave alone, you went for." The girl tightened her grip around the mans throat. "If I could kill you Klaus Mikaelson I assure you I would right now."

"I didn't hurt him, did I? Tony hurt Alaric, not your precious Jeremy." The hybrid man defended, trying his best not to choke on his own words.

"He was about to hit Jer, and I don't know why you decided to play that sick and twisted game but I said it before, and i'll say it again. He is off limits." Gia dropped the man from her grip, her eyes still angry.

"He was never going to get hurt, I would have killed Tony if he injured Elena's brother in any way, because that's what you decided." Klaus' face was completely honest as he looked into the Salvatore girls eyes. "If you haven't noticed it by now. I do everything you ask."

"Don't think that makes what you did okay." Gianina snapped back, her hand reaching backward in a fist to hit him.

He quickly caught it, smiling at the way she wasn't afraid of him, she never had been.

"I apologize for what I did, none of my plans will ever involve him again." Klaus said calmly, his voice not wavering at all as he held her hand in his own. "Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?"

"You can let me go." Gia replied firmly, clearing her throat as she looked towards the man, not wanting to break eye contact.

If she did, it would basically be her losing against him.

"That's easy enough." The Mikaelson man dropped her hand to her side, tilting his head. "Is that all, love? I have some house renovating to do."

Gianina glared at Klaus before spinning on her heel, angrily walking away from him. As she turned the corner she could hear him chuckling, leaving her wondering why. What was it about her that made Klaus Mikaelson act the way he did?

After all these months? She still had no idea.

Author's note:
Honestly, I am putting Gia THROUGH it in this book but, as you can tell, she's growing a bit of thick skin after this last humanity switch.

I also kind of want to add, I get that Gia and Kat have always been together and everything, but some of you all have to realize Gianina feels like Kat doesn't care about her anymore because of her actions and how she constantly helps Stefan when he doesn't need it. Fact is, Katherine cares more about herself than anyone and i'm going to stay true to that through this book even though they are still the main relationship focus.

Opinions on Klaus and Gia?

Hope you enjoyed!
