two figures loomed through out the darkness, one holding a bundle in their arms, while the other walked by them, their head down low. "do we have to do this...?" they asked, looking down at the bundle. "we have to. you know my dad will kill all three of us if i think about keeping her, literally...it's for her safety, greg." the two continued walking, picking up the pace as they heard loud sirens, and a male yelling out drunkly. as the two reached a doorstep, one started crying, looking at the bus all wrapped up. "i-i can't, kathrine.....she's ours and i can't see her in someone else's care...even if we do die tonight." the figure holding the bundle, sighed, taking off the hood. their hair flowed down their back, sighing. a woman, with tan skin, black hair and freckles unwrapped the bundle. a baby girl, around the age of one. her hair was neatly cut to her shoulders, with freckles spread over her face. she was sound asleep, curled into the blanket as she slightly shifted.

"she'll be fine. i know it, greg. once she's old enough, her caretaker will tell." kathrine mumbled, sighing softly. as the child whined gently in her sleep, the woman quickly went to the door steps, laying the girl down on the step. she then knocked, stepping off the stairs as she took the male's hand, smiling. "we'll see her again. promise." she whispered, nodding. as she heard the door open, she quickly pulled the man with her, starting to run off. this was it. she wasn't going to see her babygirl anymore. that was that, and she was still content. "to the union. and the hope they will provide. may she always, be satisfied."

the baby woke up after a few minutes, looking around for a moment, wondering where her parents went, but could really care less about them. she never saw the two anyway, she didn't know why. the time passed for the little girl, and now she was sitting on a couch, with a male with pale skin, and a gap in his two front teeth, while the male held her in his lap, along with a woman who looked very comforting to the male, who was overall panicked about it. mia couldn't remember too much from that night. she only remembered getting some food, and falling asleep in the male's lap. the next few days were blurred, and she couldn't remember anything.

only a stray news report of the murder of two adults, kathrine and gregory peers.

FIVE YEARS LATER. 10:55 PM

mia shot up in a cold sweat, her hair falling back into her face as she panted, feeling her chest. that dream again. that man and woman who were holding her. they weren't her parents, no, they looked different. it drove her to the brink of tears. as she stood, she went to her window, that had a small balcony, opening it and looking out on the city as tears ran down her face. as a six year old, she didn't understand why she felt like that. mia then walked back to her bed, closing the window, going back to her bed. as she slowly started falling asleep, the two figures loomed through her head, as her eyes slowly dropped closed.
