Quinn spared a glance at the graffitied star around them. Going to the 'magic world' was more complicated than it needed to be. Each person stood in the corner of the star, Ocean-Eyes standing in the middle. Granny-Jude was supposed to say something like 'abacradaba' or some crap like that. Jason was chattering like a annoyed pigeon on drugs. Daylil was petting the chameleon's spine,Quinn still hadn't learned (his? her?) name. Sean bounced on his heels. Jude poked her cane at the ground. "Ok,now, you guys will be going to the realm where the crows fly. There is plenty to eat in the realm. But predators stalk there, so beware. You have a small guide"-she chucked a guide at Sean-"with different plants and animals of this world. Good luck." The 'good luck' unnerved her. She dusted her feet over the concrete. Jude held up a blood-red gem and carefully placed it in the beak of Ocean-Eyes.

The world started to swirl like a hurricane. Glimpses of whatever came in the future for them raced past. Small whispering voices dusted past her ears, but all were too light to hear.

Then she woke up. She was in a meadow the the greenest grass Quinn had ever seen. Trees lined the precious meadow, like it was a child. She could hear the distant sound of roaring and grunting. A large volcano loomed over the rainforest. Ocean-Eyes pecked at her fingers. Quinn bolted up, but realized that was a bad idea because of her splitting headache. Ow. But she managed the strength to stand, but she was having bad tunnel vision.

Then, a slither rustled the stalks of grass. Quinn tensed, but her muscles screamed in agony. Ocean-Eyes perched on her hair and crowed at whatever was trying to sneak up on Quinn.

But only a venomous snake with the name of Grim came into view, along with three others. Quinn let a breath out she didn't know she was holding. "You ok, Quinn?" Jason asked. No she didn't feel ok. But she didn't say that. Quinn just nodded.

The journey was long ahead of them, but with Sean and Jason and Daylil, she felt like a team. She had never felt that before. Being a orphan and having a flaky older brother. She felt strong. She felt fuzzy inside.

Maybe they could make a legacy.

(YEH I KNOW ITS NOT AS LONG AS I WANT IT TO BE BUT ITS GETTING LONGER
